  1. I'm still not sure how much credit Bunn should really get for our mini-upturn......I would hazard a guess that replacing Rhodes with Wragg had much more positive affect on performances. Some of Bunn's substitutions have been baffling of late such as, when 4-0 down yesterday, bringing Branger-Engone on.
  2. If it's choice of walking the dog, going shopping with 'er indoors or applying......they will definitely apply. Whether AL is prepared to pay is another matter.
  3. Not really surprised...….I got the impression he never really moved on from being a coach and maybe that is why he was popular with the players. He fell flat as a manager in two areas in my opinion. 1) It didn't look like he did any homework on the opposition. I thought after Carlisle at home, he might have taken a different approach but he still went with a big forward when we could all see a front two of Surridge and Lang was a better option to run at fat boy with the extra midfield spot going to Lyden. 2) Any success with team line-ups where stumbled upon. Would Maouche/Missile (arguably our best CM combo) have been given a chance if everyone else was fit. Nice bloke but not good enough so correct decision for me.
  4. I'm buying online....how's this going to work? Or, as Jorvik said, am I being unreasonable?
  5. Just got through.....more tickets in but not available online, on phone or in person until 3-ish as they are still sorting out.
  6. Rubbish that Maouche…….if he had anything about him, he would've been on the line to stop that.
  7. I've noticed a certain poster is very quiet with this team containing Maouche being 3 up!!! On another note, how much credit should Max Wragg have in this turnround in performances?
  8. Some people on here use Maoche and his alleged £4k salary as a stick to beat Lemsagam with, irrespective of his performances.
  9. On the basis of what can you say one player is 10 times better than another?......I await with interest how your logic works here. So far I have seen 2 players in Missilou and Maouche who compliment each other to form an effective partnership for the first time in quite a while.
  10. Looks ok to me...….wants the ball....finds space and always looking for a forward pass.
  11. I'm with Wardie on this. If someone disagrees then why not say? It comes across, in my opinion, as childish......tantamount to "I don't want to talk to you any more". This is a message board and, I'd like to think, a home for reasoned debate. But then again...….the last line is beyond some!!!
  12. Good grief.....this really needs a bit more detail rather than an inane comment.
  13. How about Clarke with an experienced assistant such as a "Brian Horton" but definitely not a "Tommy Wright"? Someone who has been at a high level and still enjoys the game (mind you, Boundary Park could kill off any enthusiasm).
  14. That mood would return if we started getting organised and winning...…..which this squad is still capable of. Pretty certain they would prefer to win under a b*stard manager than losing under matey-boy.
  15. That is rubbish. There are always managers available and not all are "desperate", as you put it. There are 92 jobs available. How many unemployed managers are "resting"? They won't look at what's going on behind the scenes but simply getting paid in the short term and hopefully, if they make a difference, go medium term.
  16. Hardly a venomous reply by oafc1955. I don't get the emotional attachment to a past player who has returned as manager. Does his history buy him more time? If we had a manager in place who wasn't a past player and reached this point with the same record, nobody would bat an eyelid about showing him the door.
  17. Go back to last season, Wellens got the same squad to play exciting football for a few games. The squad that Sheridan failed with and couldn't motivate. We are not in a unique situation. Clubs have gone through this before and come out successfully.
  18. corse (kɔːs) n an archaic word for corpse Sounds about right for Latics at the moment.
  19. Wardie, I normally agree with you but there are plenty of experienced managers out there and this job is one of the Golden "92".
  20. Last season, after Wellens' bright start, AL gave him the tools and the time to keep us up and Wellens failed. AL's biggest mistake, this season, was listening to Barry and employing Bunn. Bunn knew what he was getting himself into and how much budget he had available. He has to go and now so as to give the new guy a chance.
  21. After that managerial performance....NO. We, as fans, could see that Stevenage were getting a grip of the game when we were 2-1 up yet Bunn did nothing to alleviate the pressure that the opposition were putting us under. Tactically clueless, indecisive and ineffective. Time to go.....we can do better.
