  1. Yes it is considering that there was a brief article on the official website when the other director, Anthony Gee, left.
  2. Just hope he managed to wangle us those cannabis lamps for the pitch off the police before he left.
  3. Barry will make sure our fans are looked after so everything will be tickety boo. Joking apart that game five years ago (when Matt Smith scores a late winner) was a farce in terms of ticketing. At least 500 Latics fans locked out, some with tickets, despite thousands of empty seats in the ground. Very little sympathy for those fans offered from our club hierarchy IIRC. Bury were on Granada reports the following week bleating on about how close they were to going to the wall.
  4. Donny have previous for that but I think they will be safe this time round.
  5. Northampton’s home games don’t look easy. Dale have effectively half a season’s worth of home games crammed into two months! I’m sure Shez will galvanise Fleetwood and keep them up. I reckon Northampton will take that final spot as well.
  6. They were shocking in our game against them the other week, a shadow of the team they once were. Don’t think their new manager has won a game yet.
  7. Barry must still have a few contacts in the police to help us out with this.
  8. Boiling watergate, the latest balls up from BP!
  9. Can’t say I’m particularly bothered about Rochdale’s away following to be honest, it was the other poster who it bugged. I was just giving the bandwagon jumpers a name. So long as they keep occupying one of the relegation spots and we get 3 points at Spotland then I’ll be happy.
  10. I appreciate all that and wasn’t having a cheap pop at the club, well that wasn’t my intention. Nor do I expect them to shell out thousands of pounds on heaters etc when there’s no guarantee it’d work. Was just pointing out that the covers regularly fail to do their job. Although they did work for the Northampton game.
  11. Aka ‘day-trippers’, every club has them.
  12. Exactly, not the first time the club have been caught out because the covers are inadequate.
  13. He was shocking in the Scunny game and was way off the pace. Unfortunately the damage was already done in that game when Wellens took him off.
  14. Is Mr Snoddy the ‘anonymous’ guy who refused to accept his refund after the scoreboard fund raiser fiasco? £7500 or so if I remember correctly? The club had to reveal his identity as their credibility was shot and a large section of supporters were sceptical, myself included. Sorry if it’s been mentioned in another thread. I also remember there being a thinly veiled dig at supporters who wished to be reimbursed. Not sure if that was from the wealthy donors or from the club itself.
  15. Shame they couldn’t do something similar to Preston ie have a big clock on it flanked by the club name in capital letters or have a large club crest on it in the centre.
  16. It could be beautifully adorned with some giant white elephants. Oldham college art project possibly?
  17. Yes it is much bigger than ours. Sure I read on their forum last year or the year before that they had a top ten budget and they didn’t think Mellon was using it wisely. They’ve also received decent fees for some of their youngsters over the past few seasons.
  18. I thought it was mickjagger that did the puns on here. We’ve little evidence of these monies in terms of pitch maintenance or improvements to the training facilities though. I guess anything that has been received has gone towards general running costs.
  19. Yes, they’ve installed a desso hybrid pitch in the last few years so I’d guess the £750k figure is about right. Sadly neither Latics nor a lot of other clubs in the lower leagues have that kind of money to spend on a pitch so the paddy fields are here to stay. Maybe it’s time the FA or Premier league helped lower division clubs out a bit to bring pitches up to scratch. It’s not like they’re short of cash.
  20. I think there’s a fund for that ?...Oh wait..
  21. If I remember rightly that’s about the figure it cost last time a major overhaul on the pitch was undertaken, around 2001 or 2002? It was said at the time that the pitch would have a lifespan of around 10 years. The council footed the bill as they were the landlords at the time but I think they added this to the purchase price when brassbank arrived in town. Since then (since the ten years elapsed) I think it’s just been a case of make do and mend
  22. Don’t be upsetting the groundsmen, we don’t want any more angry rants on twitter from the delicate soles.
  23. Unlikely if things stay as they are. Further snow forecast on Monday and Tuesday as well.
  24. That’s shocking, makes our potato patch look like a bowling green.
  25. I agree, thought we had a good player on our hands but he was average after that.
