  1. It does put our season ahead and the difficult job facing PD and GT into real perspective though, when one of our division rivals can afford half a million english pounds for players. Tough year ahead.
  2. Did they not have the option of signing Jack Cork? - Cork or Stephens, I think they've made the right choice.
  3. No disrespect to some, but boy is there some :censored:e on that list.
  4. If, as a 2nd rate top level club in a 3rd rate league, you search in vain for a sugar daddy to compete with the top 2....Then please remember that when you invite Eastern Europes finest investors to take over your club, there may just be an element of 'unlawful dealings'. Maybe OAFC didn't do too bad with TTA!
  5. Unsurprisingly yet another topic that has nowt to do with our N I international, yet he finds himself receiving further constructive comments.
  6. Local lad in "never really wanted to play for latics before because i thought they were crap and didn't pay much, but now i'm at the end of my career, a move nearer home now would be perfect" news shocker!! Stay clear.
  7. If he shows the same level of desire and attitude in Division 4 as he has in Division 3, he'll have found his level, regardless of potential or ability.
  8. The staff are unaware if this is the case. After only 5 years into a £8 million investment on a new build - I think this would be very unlikely and extremely costly should it ever go ahead.
  9. It's quite well documented that quite a few of the 'top earners' don't even pay tax, with bank accounts set up elsewhere away from this green and pleasant land etc. So whilst football fans of this country continue to pay towards the running of this country and towards their wages, some of these guys put very little back into the system - fook 'em!!
  10. Let's have a pop at lower league players asking for a mere £200 a week more, yet some of you contintue to pay £50-£60 month for your sky subscription, so you can watch our 'fantastic' premier league players on £50'000wk plus! So whilst their debts spiral completely out of control, they continue hoping, that because of their global marketing capacity, some rich Arab will pull them out of the :censored:. Fickle and missing the wider issue of why footballs out of control - nowt to do with an average 3rd division player asking for a bit more in his wage packet.
  11. I know there are additions to come into that squad, but in all honesty looking at that list doesn't half make me a tad concerned about next season!!
  12. A very decent defender at this level and for the money I cannot see who fans think we are going to attract to replace him. He knew his job, had some pace and rarely injured. Of course there were better at this level and boy are there are a lot worse - I hope his replacement doesn't fall into the latter category. Anyway, on with your happy hunt for Baresi.
  13. Indeed. When players of Will Buckleys calibre, who reportedly earned quite a bit less than £1k a week whilst learning his trade at rockydally, can transfer to the championship - Watford and earn (if figures are correct) £8k a week, how the hell are we supposed to afford some of the players mentioned on there. Though again, another fine example Stanley of the fine mess and significant challenge that we as a 'lower league' club find ourselves in. Crack on though with your lower league salary caps, FA. ( inserts 'unbelievable' smiley thing), leaving the top 2 divisions on different planets, salary and realism wise.
  14. Again, playing regularly in a side, playing the same way every week and therefore increasing his match fitness would cut some of that out.
  15. By far not the worst keeper we've seen at this level, like many he's a confidence keeper with some good attributes. We've had worse and certainly had better.
  16. We have just let a similar left back go with very similar attributes and performances as Bertrand, yet some believe he "isn't as good as Black", or that he "wasn't that good anyway". As with Evina - Bertrand was very young and inexperienced when he was at BP, yet you could see he had the potential to have a very good future in the game, with the right decisions, choices and advice. To decide a young player is 'not good enough' (as some have said about Evina) after half a season on loan at BP, regardless of the potential he shows is a bit premature really.
  17. Certainly more. It is no secret that a run in any side improves a players' performance, confidence and in turn goal ratio. 2, 3 games on the bounce before missing 3 or 4 is no good for any player, never mind an ageing, 31 year old, 3rd division striker, who is trying to combine his international career with club football, whilst recovering from niggling injuries. Of course he'd have scored more given Tonks' game time.
  18. During the 1995 and 1997 famines in North Korea, the starving peasants dug up and ate human bodies.
  19. The first of many I fear over the next 5-10 years, whilst oblivious to this, Man.Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool et al continue to increase average footballers salaries by 4 and 5 times their already heavily inflated wages, making the financial gap ever wider and eventually non sustainable in football. Premier league a farce.
