  1. Yes, that was it. I find it strange and worrying that someone should see fit to delete a link to a quote from a British MP on the BBC News website.
  2. Last night I posted a reply thanking Bob for his answer, and with a link to the comments of a prominent Jewish MP (from the BBC web site). This post seems to have been deleted!
  3. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of Hall's lack of ambition (in terms of football anyway).
  4. I work for a company which supplies a large fast food corporation. Things seem secure at the moment, but never say never... People will always have to eat, and lots of people will always choose to eat junk food!
  5. You don't get it do you Bob? NOBODY here is defending Hamas. Nobody disputes that they are evil terrorists. But groups like Hamas will not be defeated militarily. The disproportionate Israeli action will only serve as a recruitment tool for Hamas. What will be the reaction of those bombed and shelled in their homes - will it make them realise that Israel is actually a friendly, peaceful nation? Or will they buy into all the propaganda fed to them by Hamas and similar groups? Parallels have been drawn between the current conflict and the Irish troubles. Should the RAF have bombed Nationalist areas? Would it have helped? I don't think so. A few days ago, the Palestinian death toll reached 1000. Bob, how many Israelis have been killed by Hamas rockets and suicide bombs in, say, the last 5 years?
  6. Agree 100%. He was lucky to be the striker in a team that was playing to the very best of it's ability for a few months.
  7. As the saying goes: If you can't beat them, join them. Send one of the most powerful armies in the world to terrorise a population consisting mainly (although not exclusively of course) of innocent civilians. Has it not occured to you that the word 'Hamas' in the title of your post could quite easily and accurately by changed to 'Israeli'?
  8. Why? To protect Palestinians??? Seriously, I don't think ANYONE has suggested that the actions of Hamas are anything but despicable. But the scenes in that video could just as easily have come from Gaza in the last couple of weeks. If that's the best you can come up with to justify the IDF's action, you should probably give up.
  9. The licence will be stored on your PC. Not sure what the terms of it are though (regarding expiry), but I wouldn't have thought it was permanent. There is software available for purchase to remove the protection so you can back up your downloads, but it's a bit of a ballache to be honest.
  10. I'm sure he's very interested in our offer. But let's face it, a Championship club can easily offer twice the wage we can. If he goes (which I wouldn't blame him for), and OAFC get £400k, or even £250k, it will be VERY good business for a player who came for nothing, and hasn't been on the biggest wage ever. Saying that, I hope he stays. And that he plays for us in the Championship next year. Let's trust in TTA and Shez to know what they're doing. We can't influence it anyway - we'll get what we're given. So try to stay positive!
  11. So the cheapest is £883, although that is a 50". Why are there no smaller ones? Something to do with the minimum pixel pitch on a plasma screen I'm guessing. The power used and heat generated by those screens must be horrendous! So then, of the sets under consideration (low to mid range 37-40" sets) I'd still go for the Sony. LCD screens and 1080p are the future. Low resolution plasma screens aren't.
  12. Can you show me a 1920 x 1080 plasma? We're talking about the type of sets in question here. Sure, you can get 1024x768 LCDs in 15", but that wasn't the point in question. But I think you knew that....
  13. The resolution on plasmas is lousy compared to LCDs - the Sony is a true 1080 set, so I'd go for that one. More future proof, and very cheap nowadays. Saying that, bear in mind that neither is likely to give you HD Freeview when broadcasts become available. Sonce you're on Sky, that isn't likely to be an issue though.
  14. Well done Bob. And well done to the Daily Mail. Take a story which is old news, with old statistics, add some quotes from a TV show, and throw an immigrant family into the mix. I know there are problems in Falinge, along with the rest of the country. But this is just a typical Daily Mail story designed to fuel bigotry.
  15. They generally wire in the special lights street-side of the property's electricity meter, so the power may have to be switched off at the substation to repair it. Or so I've heard...
  16. The site itself seems OK now, but the Extended Highlights won't work. Will try again in an hour...
  17. Missed Charlton's goal against Gillingham because Michelle Marsh was sat at the back, rather than somewhere more convenient... Nearly missed Gary Mac's wondergoal, but luckily turned around when I saw the size of the beer queue.
  18. Is soggy yellow post not punishment enough? No, probably not actually. A smack on the nose is more personal!
  19. Well, we could hire someone on £5000 a week for a year, and still pay the bills PLUS whatever we pay Lee. Of course, we arent likely to pick such a player up until the end of the season, which is why I hope he stays with us. In fact, I'd like him to stay with us anyway, but market forces may dicate otherwise. I'm hoping this is all about Lee negotiating a better deal for next year. Who knows?!
  20. I guess you didn't realise he is now a Muslim either! I hope he stays, but as has been pointed out, £400k would pay off some debts AND hire a striker MUCH better than we can afford at the moment (Hughes excepted, given his situation). What I hope most of all is that, if he does leave us, he gets a great reception when he returns to BP!
  21. Nope, didn't go to either of the £2 games (Brighton being the other). Did pay full whack on NYD to see us demolish Forest 5-0 though! It's a great offer that they're doing this time. Not been to a game for a while, due to lack of finances, but might go to this.
  22. Hmm.. Level with the player nearest him running back, and level with the player on the far side running forwards. Unlucky!
