£9.00 return Bolton to Blackpool using my registered disabled pass which apparently I am entitled to as an hearing aid user. Using my over 60s GMPTE pass to get to Bolton from Mills Hill
Cant fault it
My failing memory tells me that when I started supporting the Latics night matches were played on Wednesday evening with 7-30 pm kick off. Can someone please correct me if I am right or wrong?
Many thanks
I should have mentioned that my first game was the friendly against OFCK Belgrade (?) in 1963 I think
Really can't understand why these attacks are personal
Better leave it at that before I am told to Fxxk Off.
Meanwhile may I wish you all a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year
Can i just ask when was the last time he asked the fans for an opinion aside from the meet the manager days?
I understand comments raised on both sides of this discussion but I currently have no intention in taking part in this debate apart from this
Although I do not know Barry well I do believe that he IMHO is would not mind you having a quick discussion on match days
PLEASE ACCEPT MY NEXT COMMENT TONGUE IN CHEEK or are you one that the Club trying to get to the ground on match days
Am I right in thinking in that many many years ago there was a season or two when the top teams in the old third or fourth were ourselves, Brentford, Mansfield and Coventry the latter being managed by Jimmy Hill ?
I sincerely hope that LJ is here for the long haul but am surprised (only joking) that his waves to the fans at the end were not seen by anyone as his farewells
EMPHASIS ON THE FACT THAT I POST THIS TONGUE IN CHEEK
i stand to be corrected but seem to recollect travelling to Oxford many years ago when the Latics signed a few players around the Christmas period. These included Frank Large and Ian Towers
On the trip down a chant/song was composed to the tune of Good King Wenceslas (?) and the words being something like
"Good king Ken Bates last looked out
On the Latics payroll
When no money lay about
He put some on the table
Brightly played the team that day
Tho the debt was crippling
Then Frank Large came home to stay
With his fancy dribbling
ON THAT NOTE IT IS TIME FOR ME TO
APOLOGIZE
I have had more than a few scoops tonight
i never "knowingly" met this fan but the nice part of football is that if creates genuine characters like Gippy. The sad part of life is that we lose them eventually
RIP
