  1. As one of the mugs who was there tonight, thats one way of voicing our opinion! Another would be to stand and turn your back on the team for the first 5 minutes of the game.
  2. LOL....We could resign Kilcline and team him up with his US Double, Alexi Lalas!
  3. £24 to those dingle inbreeds...Thanks. But no thanks. I'll keep my money in my pocket.
  4. LOL....Knowing our luck, we'd lose the toss and spend the 30 minutes waiting for the opposition to come out & kick off!
  5. Held a ST for more than 20 years but I am seriously undecided about renewing next season.
  6. Richards was the last, and we had 3 more before him: http://www.englandfootballonline.com/TeamC...amAthletic.html
  7. I'm amazed that 3 people have voted for the scumbag that is Martin Allen. He is one person I seriously hope we do not turn to as a replacement for Penney. He is a despicable character, and has already placed on record his hate for OAFC and stated we are racist (remember the Born In England, Live In England, Die In England flag)....add to this the fact he was placed on "gardening leave" at Cheltenham, for allegedly racially insulting a doorman at a nightclub. Due to the ethnic make-up of the town and the race circus that would undoubtedly accompany this piece of work, I hope he never even crosses the mind of the board! In the unlikely event he was appointed I would personally boycott BP and support from my armchair until he left the club, by way of a personal protest.
  8. He's a real tosser, Bob. Sat near to him a few years ago at Old Trafford for the England v Wales game. As soon as he stood up the rest of the England fans shouted him back down! lol
  9. I've asked for it to be deleted/removed then!
  10. For me it was his comment prior to the Exeter home game in December which settled my mind that he was a useless 'See You Next Tuesday'. Despite our precarious position he stated the game was not a "must win". For me that was despicable as we should be trying to win every game. That kind of talk, irrespective of what he meant (before the pro-Penney brigade start defending the useless tosser) was the final straw for me. Yes we have taken 5 from 9, we should have tried to take 9 from 9 against the opposition in question. And 2 penalties (1 saved 1 scored) meant we narrowly avoided taking just 3 from 9 and losing to 2 relegation sides! I'm glad I couldn't make the original Stockport game and won't be attending tomorrow night, and I refuse to waste my money watching the side away whilst this idiot is in charge.
  11. Bloody sickener mate! Gutted he's out as he would have been an ideal sub!
  12. I kind of agree where your coming from Kellys Discopants. I have usually been one of the last people to turn on a manager and have even had rows in the ground during Talbots reign with fans who wanted him sacked long before he was. However, Penney is the worst manager I have seen in my time as a fan. His tactics and style of play would bore a glass eye to sleep. Fans will boo, moreso now than in the past, mainly due to the costs involved and the fact its good money being wasted to watch dross. Booing & negative chants will not help in the short term, but by the same respect sitting there and saying nowt & just accepting what is served up would actually be worse. People have to work hard for their money and the entry costs fans pay entitles them to voice their opinion....besides, 10 fans could go out and most probably show more commitment/effort/desire than what we see week in/week out - Gregan is the exception! Give me 11 lads who are prepared to sweat blood and put their bodies on the line, and I would accept relegation if they got beat each week. A team of 10 Ernie Cooksey's & 1 Sean Gregan for me every day of the week....please!
  13. The last time we scored 3 goals was in a single game was away at Millwall on 28 February 2009. And we haven't scored 3 at home since we beat Stockport 3-1 on 24 January 2009! In all honesty, can anyone really see us scoring 3 goals in a game between now and the end of the season? Personally, I can't with Penney's stifling tactics and dire performances his teams produce!
  14. Yes Gemma, you appear to be the only one! He was crap and he isn't fit to wear the shirt!
  15. I'm surprised it took until today for an anti-Parker thread to emerge. He was crap yesterday...had little or no movement, looked completely uninterested and unarsed, and his fastest run was when he was subbed! Personally speaking, unless injured a professional footballer should hate being subbed (a la Wayne Rooney) - However Parker looked relieved to be going off. Waste of space IMHO and I'd be happy if he was never picked again....PS his strike rate is 1 goal per 14.5 games, great record, eh! (Hazell's is 1:11 this season)
  16. I have to say BB80, that I used to be fairly vocal and usually hoarse on a Saturday night from singing at matches. However, the TTA's decision to open the Rocky Road End pretty much killed off the Chaddy End as the traditional "home" end. The decision has split the fans and watered it down to the point where there's hardly a soul in the Chaddy who would sing nowadays. Admittedly this is the second season, and last season was fairly quiet but this time around, week-on-week the numbers in the Chaddy have diminished (as has also happened in the Rocky - note the Drummer Boy isn't around anymore???) Penney trains, coaches, picks and supposedly motivates the side, and allegedly is a football manager....The dross he has served up, irrespective of injuries (which is not an acceptable excuse), is the most woeful I have ever seen in my 25+ years watching Latics. What amazes me is the sheer number of people who still wish to defend him and slate the fans who have the audacity to question him. Personally speaking, I was never in favour of his appointment, however I was willing to have an open-mind about him and to date I have only expressed my disgust at his handling of the team away from the ground. I seriously hope we avoid relegation, but regardless of the final destiny of this season, Penney simply has to go. And I'm not sure who said it on here, but yes I would happily sing the song to his face, I'd even help him clear his desk whilst I was at it......mainly 'cos he'd probably be stood around with his hands in his pockets!!!!
  17. Whilst some of you appear to be closet City fans and envious of the money at Wastelands Council Estate. I myself when they crashed out of the FA Cup at the Britannia. Yet another trophyless season for the delusional, bitter blue barstewards!!! They are more content with bragging to Utd that they signed Tevez everytime he scores, rather than wanting their own club to actually win something. Great result for them at Stamford Bridge, but they will still miss out on 4th spot at the end of the season...its in City's DNA! Money is temporary, class is permanent. City have the former but not the latter & never will have!
  18. Slightly off topic, but there was a challenge in the first half of the Rangers v Celtic game today, can't remember the players involved but the Rangers defender swung his leg after the ball had gone and took the Celtic attacker clean out on the edge of the box. Rangers defender was booked and THAT was a deliberate foul and technically could have been red as it was a professional foul, but as the striker was going across the box and not "last man" he stayed on the pitch! I do think the red card shown to Shawcross should be rescinded, but I doubt it will be! Stoke are taking on the ESTABLISHMENT if they challenge the decision.
  19. All the best to Ramsey for a speedy recovery. However, if you actually watch the incident back on Sky+, Shawcross is looking straight down at the ball and sweeping his leg to get the ball first....by contrast, Ramsey is also going for the ball (therefore a 50/50 challenge irrespective of what the blinkered Wenger may spew out to the media), but Ramsey's right ankle appears to be bending and tragically Shawcross connects with Ramsey's leg which caused it to break. Roy Keane deliberately set out to injure a player when he maimed Alf Inge Haaland - Ryan Shawcross & Aaron Ramsey were both being 100% committed in trying to win the ball for their sides. Wenger needs to take a long hard look at himself and the incident in question before he starts slating the lad Shawcross and trying to find blame. It was an innocent challenge by both players yet to hear Wenger spew his bile you'd think everyone should stand aside and just let Arsenal have the ball for the entire 90 minutes and never dare try and take it off his players.
  20. Admittedly, yesterday's display was better than a lot of the diatribe that Penney has served up this season. It was probably the second best home display of the season, after MK, however once again it finishes "Oldham Athletic Nil" and we LOST once again. Our worst performer (Taylor) managed to complete 90 minutes when he should have been hauled off a damn sight sooner....he looks devoid of ideas and more likely to burst into tears rather than burst into the box as he did when he started out! Penney is constantly fidgeting with his 'town-halls' and digging a little hole in his spot on the touchline rather than trying to motivate the team during the course of the game. The saying goes that 'One Swallow Does Not Make A Summer', same goes that yesterday's display should not prevent the idiot from being sacked. The worst manager in my 25 years watching Latics!
  21. No, just find laughing at Pathetic, Delusional Man City very therapeutic. Sorry if that has offended you, report me if it bothers you that much!
  22. I'd echo oafcprozac's comments....however the saying you can lead a horse to water springs to mind. In all honesty, as a fresh faced kid you see the likes of Rooney, Giggs, Ronaldo, Tevez, Bellamy, Ireland, Wright-Phillips etc on the telly and knowing no different they are bound to follow the well trodden road to become Utd fans. Especially if friends are also fans! Add to that the fact the teams can be watched on telly on any given matchday via foreign satellite signals, they can easily watch them and get hooked. We have to hope they choose to come to Latics and usually the performances we produce struggle to get the die-hards back let alone a new fan who has come to his first game. It wouldn't do the club much harm to get involved with the kids more at local level, especially in the close season with football schools. I also think the economics of football dictate peoples choices more as well.
  23. Those delusional blue b:censored:s will have to wait at least another year before they have any chance of trying to 1) reach a final and 2) lift a trophy! Just been drawn away at Chelsea IF they manage to beat Stoke in the replay! Cheer up Mancini, Gary Cook has every confidence because CITY are THE WORLDS BEST EVER team! Thanks City, when times are down you always manage to cheer me up and make the world seem a better place! And to think, all these players who are putting in some effort now are only doing so 'cos the World Cup is a few months away!
  24. I just wish we could take advantage of the privileged position were in location wise. We've got 8 Premier League clubs within a 40-mile radius, and surely they've got players who could come and do a job for us, ideally it would be for half/season long loans (EG Kilkenny / Croft)!
