  1. That's a fair summary. Much rather him just kick it into row Z though. Hate it when players play it off opponents for throws/corners in order to keep possession. Crying out for an unfortunate incident to happen when it can be easily avoided.
  2. He is, people boo him when he comes on. Maybe hates a bit strong but, still it's pathetic the abuse he gets. I thought it was a great comparison, truly shows how ridiculous some of our fans can be.
  3. Potato, potarto. Still laughable that one was for the most part accepted, and the other is well and truly hated by some.
  4. Why can't everyone who 'hates' banks just have this stance. Way too many 'fans' would rather tell him to fuck off, rather than him staying here and trying to prove us wrong. You can't question banks is a better footballer than fane. But, fane suits the midfield better now and we seem an extremely well balanced team now. To think some probably got behind Lee Hughes even though he murdered a family, just because he was a decent player for us. Yet, won't give banks anymore time to turn opinions around. Laughable.
  5. Just because it's legal, doesn't mean it's ok, you do realise that the FA are a joke and the rules aren't even clear to the referees half the time. You sound like you praise diving and those who try to con the ref. It's a cancer that is ruining the sport and the sooner they start handing retrospective bans for theatrics/diving after incidents like maddisons, the better.
  6. I'm all for being fair to refs and quite often laugh at those around me, who claim for every decision under the sun. But, that's total bollocks, I was sat straight across from it in the north stand. You could see Maddison look over his shoulder, wait for him to get within arms reach and then he just threw himself to the ground. You can't blame Wilson at all, the ref was conned by the so called 'best midfield in the league', who was shit scared to take a 1v1 on because of how well Placide had played.
  7. Ref was best I've seen in a while. Let play go on and didn't give yellows out willie nillie. Lino got 1 or 2 wrong but, for the most part, It was just our fans frustration, so they called for every little decision. Remember one were macca tracked back about 20 yards but, came from an offside position. Everyone went mental, people need to learn the rules, just cause he's tracked back doesn't mean he can't be offside. Can't blame officials every game, shez not having an effective plan b is the main problem.
  8. Bit harsh that. I thought he done OK, tracked back well and took on the full back a few times. Crossing was poor but, at least he was trying to force it, instead of lose possession or just pass it back to the defence. Edit- quoted the wrong bit (it's early in the morning, let me off) ? Meant the bit about the new lad winning a raffle to play.
  9. Anyone said the 'has he shagged your missus'.... yet? I do Agree though, he's weak in the tackle and takes to long on it sometimes. Can play a great ball every now and then and he's definitely improved under shez. Having said that, if we stay up, I'd look to get rid and find someone who is technically just as good but, has more fight in him. Pretty sure shez will sort it as and when.
  10. Some people just criticise for the sake of it, Erwin's been poor for a lot the season.... granted. But, he was fine in the last game he started at home, had :censored: service all night, won headers he had a chance of winning etc etc. People still slated him for not putting 'effort' in. Im sure some just want to see him fail cause he had a poor start and isn't one of our own. I love Holloway, you know what you're getting with him but, he can't finish for toffee as shown last night, if those chances fell to erwin he would've got at least 2 more goals, Holl had 4 good chances to score. End of the day, he's won us 5 points from games due to getting the winner, we'd be in a horrible position if it's wasn't for his recent goals. Give him a bit of credit without criticism for a change, that'd be nice.
  11. This. Think he's been a great addition but, the tired challenge on Saturday could've cost us. Glad he's rested him tonight. Could come on in last 30 and cause problems too.
  12. Yea, forgot about the other umpteen times he's lost his head in 20 odd games for us. Oh yeah, he hasn't, it's the first instance. As has been said, he gives out what he gets, I'd rather that than someone who is a pushover like we've seen too many of earlier this season. We'd be relegated without him previously, and he's already well on the way to keeping us up this time round. Just let it go and accept its a risk you get with having battlers like Clarke and Gerrard. And, before you say it, Clarke hasn't lost his head for us as yet but, there is the odd challenge he leaves a leg in after winning the ball. That's a risk, an unneeded one but, I love it so I couldny give a :censored:. Great to see 2 proper CB's, hopefully Edmondson learns a lot from them both.
  13. Biggest load of bull:censored: I've ever read, don't know why you're so eager to blame Gerrard, AGAIN. Just move on and get over it, ffs. If we pick up no points from the next 2, So be it. The fact is, we've been miles stronger with him back and 1 silly mistake and you make out its end of the world. 'Twitter conversation', he basically took the piss out of you cause you came across as a wet wipe. No wonder you have a grudge against the bloke. Sad.
  14. I see Erwin is still getting stick. Embarrassing, he played well tonight. He's a striker at the end of the day, the service was utter :censored:e to him and he held it up well when the ball got within 10 yards of him. Midfield were nowhere to be seen for majority of the game, it was 1 v 2 or 3 at times for him. Can't blame him for not looking up when he only had a couple of chances to run at people and try to get a shot away. He's a striker ffs. Almost sent the defender for a hot dog first half but, he made a good last ditch recovery. He also won us free kicks up the pitch to relieve pressure, 2 right on the edge of the box, which banks wasted.
  15. Can't fault him for reacting, and we won so I couldn't give 2 :censored:s. No need to get into an exchange with him about it, just sweep it under the carpet and move on. More important matters like getting enough points to avoid relegation. Shame the referee didn't do his job at all well, send Evatt off straight away and it defuses the situation. Unfortunately all 4 officials missed it, because they were useless.
  16. Everything seems to be sticking to his gloves. Refreshing to see a modern day keeper look to and most often than not catch the ball at first attempt. Seems to be the norm now that keepers just punch it, which more than likely puts more pressure on your defence. As good as I think he is, and will go onto be. Those odds are shocking to say a lot could go wrong for him in his career, e.g. Long term injury down the line. Hopefully that's not the case though.
  17. Banks corners were pinpoint for the most part. Holloway won loads of headers, and had decent support at times which we've not seen enough of from the midfielders. Ripley was safe as in goal like usual with the little bits he had to do, Clarke, Gerrard and wilson were solid as per. Fane was excellent, especially when we'd just took the lead and others were tiring. Don't care what anyone says, there is a very useful player in him at this level, breaks up the play so well at times, just lacks the ability/confidence to run with it or go forwards more often. So pleased we managed to get the win cause these deals usually act as curses. Referee and lino were atrocious, don't understand why Linesmen don't make decisions anymore. Even consult refs on some throw ins, just make a effing decisions for christ sake.
  18. I'll sit where I want, thanks. Damage was done long before that was built. Slates other fans for going in to a certain stand, then says they won't be attending. Proper fan you are, aren't you? Rather sit in that than near to the athletico or the main stand moaners.
  19. To be fair, he was returning to a club he'd just left, think we wanted to keep it quiet. I'd imagine their manager would know Gerrards weaknesses, traits etc. It worked a treat too.
  20. I'd imagine someone has already mentioned this.... The moment I knew we couldn't be arsed to fight for it yesterday, was when banks kicked the ball out at 1 down because they had a player injured. Under normal circumstances I'd understand, but their player was in no discomfort and was just watching the match, until there was a stop in play so, he could be subbed off. Like many have said, I just expect a loss anyway and don't feel anything of any note after the match. Thought last year was a miracle when we stayed up, this year it's just improbable unless there's a massive change in playing staff in January, which I doubt will happen.
  21. Can't force them to stay. We didn't really have a choice unless he risks the future of the club by either making the budget bigger or improving managers wage. I understand that corneys made mistakes, don't think anyone can deny that. But, I hate it when people blame him for things that are out of his control.
  22. Dummigan is good going forwards most of the time, like today, he looked to put good deliveries into the box. Last home game he got forwards and just passed it backwards most of the time. Don't know why people think he is a world beater, he constantly gets out muscled and struggles defensively against the opposition winter.
  23. Thought dummigan was shocking to be honest. Always getting skinned off their winger and although he supported the attacks, didn't really create much or look to get a cross in. Shows how fans opinions can differ enormously. Really hope Wilson starts tomorrow. Need to be a hell of a lot more solid at back if we're to get a positive result.
