I never liked Parker mate, always thought he was a bit of an upstart and a disruptive influence. Writing a player off after two games is silly. Even if he was rubbish for us and he's finished at this level, that doesn't mean he won't have a decent season at Mansfield. Calling him anyone a flop after two games is a tad pre-mature.

Everyone is saying this but I don't buy into it, we're playing Tounkara up top who is faster than Abbott but that is about it. No one can seriously suggest that it makes sense footballing wise to sell our best forward and replace him with a player who plays the same sort of game but is inferior. Tounkara is a target man, he's a big guy, he's the our free kick and corner takers will be aiming for, but he lacks the technical ability and experience Pav has, so what's the point? Pav is better than what we have got. You can argue Feeney is better, fine, but we have two slots for a striker and Pav is better than all the rest. As I said, if he's good enough for Charlton, he's good enough for us.

To be fair, Huddersfield to draw with Tranmere is as sure a thing as sure things get. It'll be a borefest.

Stern John would score goals at this level, as he has done in The Championship.

We need to bring in an established striker though to partner Feeney. I like that we have Kelly, Bembo, Brooke, Alessandra as back up and Dickov if needed but I think we're still ight without another experienced frontman. Tounkara is no better than Eaves, he's a big dope. You might think that's a pre-mature conclusion but just wait, after 6 games you'll all be saying it. He's a donkey. As I've said before ITM is available for a nominal fee and is the type of player that would fit in nicely with Dickov's set up, failing that there's got to be another experienced striker out there we can get in that isn't Jon Macken. Did Stern John end up with a club?

Terrible news. I remember when he was first diagnosed they said he was going for treatment and he was hoping to be back early this season. It infuriates me how a story like this doesn't even make the first page on BBC Football.

An average League One striker is more than what we had on the pitch tonight and given that we had large spells of attacking the Scunthorpe area, but only converted one attempt, I think that shows.
