  1. Thought at the time it was O'Grady off around the penalty spot when he flicked on.
  2. What narks me is when a forward in the middle is retreating several yards offside and the ball is played to an onside winger. The centre forward then turns to face goal a few yards in front of his marker and proceeds to bury the winger's cross having been deemed "not interfering with phase one play." I'm not advocating flagging someone out on the wing offside when the ball flies in the net but some decisions to let goals stand when players are in the goalie's eye-line seem ludicrous.
  3. Me too, but I'd sooner not bugger him up for the rest of the season up by playing from the start.
  4. Bit like a girl who's dumped you, can either mope about and be a misery to everyone who knows you or think I'll have a crack at that one who's out of my league. You'll never know until you try !
  5. So now our ex-player is a potential player-manager, if only Richie had listened to him............ By the way I've wished him good luck in an earlier post but can't see him doing much in Scotland, it can get very physical up there and he's not renowned for "counting to ten". Hope he proves me wrong.
  6. Like he ripped apart all those teams the back end of last season ?
  7. Yes but the ball was in the field of play when the offence occurred so it's a pen and a red card, if it wasn't in play it's just a red card. I recall a few years ago when we were attacking the Chaddy and the linesman flagged for a penalty at the Rocky Road End after our centre half had cracked their forward with the ball miles away.
  8. So do I but are you a different generation to the people I'm addressing ? I'm 65 by the way so struggling to find many older than me !
  9. Reminiscing.......it's the future for us all. I can see that it may be a bit boring for our younger posters but as time passes in your lives you will look back favourably on times in your lives (whether football related or not) that meant something special to you. It may mean going to a cup final, play-off match a particularly good snog (edited) or even a damn good pie, it just depends on the individual. So cut us a bit of slack with our old fogies' memories, in the blink of an eye you'll be one of us !
  10. Wasn't Cliff born in India during the Raj or does that not qualify him ?
  11. Not really exploited it they don't score - more like exposed. BUT will agree that "shutting up shop" isn't a good idea, scoring more goals usually works better. I think as the team gels and we get a full compliment available we'll have the confidence to continue on the offensive and score more.
  12. Don't get up too early it's Bank Holiday tomorrow !
  13. I think our ages should be shown on our profiles so we can make allowances for youthful or elderly posters and the one's in between who regularly post crap can be truly labelled as just dicks !
  14. We can all take sides if we wish but until it emerges (if it ever does) what his misdemeanour actually was then NO ONE can give a fully reasoned argument as to his banishment or reinstatement. If he deliberately foul tackled a teammate resulting in a broken leg he can rot with the kids for ever as far as I'm concerned. Moral values are more important to me than merely winning at sport.
  15. Wouldn't class myself as a great mind but am open minded enough to accept any compliments !
