  1. Thought Hamer was shaky. Good cross for 1st goal but ran under the ball a few times in 1st half and was way out of position a couple of times in 2nd. Admittedly Hunt wasn't any better when switched but we had to try something. The game was lost in midfield and if Lyden had been brought on earlier we should have got something from the game as he combated their midfield 2nd half dominance..
  2. Was in Rocky but didn't see anyone get a definite touch but Surridge sprinted to save the dead ball but couldn't make it so maybe it was a corner. Lyden nailed on penalty, taken out as he released the pass. Think Crippen would have got away with it with some of these refs and as for linesmen, they're robbing the EFL, only give offsides and out of plays.
  3. Well he's a poor referee in my opinion who "bottles" a lot of big decisions........but obviously a big step up on what we're used to !
  4. The worries with me are that he's not doing things as instinctively as he did pre-exile and, although never originally being over-robust, seems to be "looking after himself" just a little too much now.
  5. Can't see them getting 25,000 at any price and whilst I'd agree with a reduced price just thought it was a bit excessive in our situation.
  6. Ticket prices out for Fulham 10 & 5 quid seems a bit too cheap for a third round FA Cup fixture to me if we're trying to maximise our cup revenue.
  7. More a case of look forward instead of taking the easy option of turning back towards your own goal or having a couple of touches before making a positive pass. We have a couple of forwards with pace who need the ball playing quickly, something Gardner struggles to do consistently.
  8. We may do now due to Gardner's enforced absence. Less Cryuff turns - more forward passes !
  9. I can't remember anyone saying Placide was better than Ripley but he was better than his two predecessors. Had Ripley signed at the start of last season we wouldn't have been relegated, the same result if Sheridan had played Placide from the start.
  10. At the time I thought obvious penalty and red card to their goalie; then dive and rightly booked; now I'm not so sure. Think Baxter's left foot may have been caught by the goalie's right foot. In any case it beggars belief that the ref could have made that an obvious dive and booking and not spot their pathetic attempt at one.
  11. ............from the Donald Trump School of Diplomacy !
  12. Sad news indeed. I worked with Dennis at Platt's and can well remember the trip back from Bournemouth on the "League Liner" just drinking and having a game of cards with Paul Edwards who was a mate of his. We'd lost one nil and Paul had scored an own goal if my memory serves me. A decent lad and only in his late sixties I'd guess. RIP Dennis and commiserations to Family and close friends.
  13. Yes, dead negative on Saturday wasn't it ? Oh I forgot you'd made your mind up before half time ! Perhaps some of our part-time Uni dwelling supporters are too busy at this time of year.
  14. To my mind the main thing they have in common is they're both a bit lightweight. Hopefully Lyden will step up to the late after Saturday's second half showing.
  15. Ah, now I understand. I'm getting there, but slowly !
  16. He's right though, other teams managed to pull it round and stay up - we didn't. It's how you react to adversity that defines you.
  17. Yes but with the squad available we should have been able to conjure the extra point required, whoever was in charge. So many mistakes by managers, players and directors ensured teams of lesser ability but more professionally run are now in a league above us.
