  1. The one place I don't want to see him is just in front of our back four. I "have kittens" every time he picks the ball up off Iverson or the centre halves as he just doesn't look after the ball well enough to be receiving it so deep.
  2. I'm not one to call one of our players, and some people do seem to pick up on Gardner's every perceived mistake, but the cross-field pass in the first half on Monday was schoolboy-ish. As has been said previously he wants too many touches before picking a pass and like a lot of our players doesn't look forward to release the ball early. When he does and drives forward apropos our first goal he looks a much better player. He's probably one of the first names on the team-sheet because of the lack of talent in our midfield.
  3. What's embarrassing about taking 250 plus to a midweek 450 mile round trip match that's shown live on TV ?
  4. Blue Club on Victoria Street Chadderton. Apologies, not tonight's match was meaning Cup match on Monday. It's an age thing !
  5. A fully fit Miller would be a big asset to us but he looks a bit short at present.
  6. Is if you're an Everton "member", sorry didn't mean free to anyone.
  7. Being streamed free on Everton's site so don't expect a big crowd !
  8. Why's he still here then ? We've long been a selling club, and some posters on here think most people employed in football know less than them !
  9. Thought Eyres was just a late developer and the other two just looked like natural goalscorers to me, which is very hard to teach. The "have a couple of touches before you decide what to do" with Gardner will be much harder to counter. Really good players know what they're going to do with it before it's under control. Gardner doesn't he needs a couple of touches first and quite often gets dis-possessed at this level, let alone higher.
  10. The thing about Gardner is he slows it down too much and as he's our main midfielder it rubs off on the rest of the team. Invariably has to do a Cryuff turn or a step-over (which more of the opposition are now reading) before making his pass. Can't tackle but is capable of hitting a good pass in his own time to team mates who admittedly often fail to make forward runs. I wouldn't be surprised if he was wanted by another club as there's basically a half decent lower league player in there but fail to see him improving markedly as he's 28 years old so is pretty set in his ways I'd guess.
  11. Understand and agree that people need to take control of their own actions but I've seen quite a few people slump into debt/depression as a result of gambling and drinking. I enjoy both but keep them under control. Unfortunately some people can't, for whatever reason, and it's those who need protecting from themselves. I do however think a big problem nowadays is that some parents set a poor example and are too ready to excuse their kids bad behaviour and "bail them out", even as adults, which doesn't help them much at all. As for Sterling he's probably the one who's benefited most from Pep's tutelage and I'd love him to score a hat-trick, preferably against manure !
  12. No problem........unless you have an existing problem. These adverts prey on people's greed/susceptibility into spending funds they may not have by bogus enhanced odds offers amongst other scams. One of the more ludicrous offers during the World Cup was Raheem Sterling to score a hat-trick ! Anyone who fell for that one needs more than one kind of help. I enjoy a bet every day but thankfully am not the type's targetted by half time ads.
  13. ..........but we're the mighty Oldham don't ya know !
  14. Bit hard on Nepo. Admittedly yesterday he took his time getting the ball in but his crossing wasn't that bad. Beckham would look a poor crosser of the ball with the lack of movement our forwards show. No midfielders drive into the box to get on the end of things and half the time O'Grady is stood next to the bloke crossing.
  15. That's pertinent to quite a few supporters on here and elsewhere, Tarky and Matt Smith weren't exactly flavour of the month at times during their tenure. Smith couldn't hit a barn door at a time and I must admit although liking Tarky as a player thought his lack of pace and slow turn would prevent him achieving the level he has. Just goes to show even the best of judges get it wrong sometime !
  16. Better queuing up than having it delivered, at least you're getting the exercise walking from the car !
