  1. So we can safely say Gerrard is out then! Cheers. Tough call Nepo or Momimbe....dont think we can play both though
  2. I'ts a fair point. Just not sure Wellens actually knows his own ideal team formation!!
  3. Yep agree with this...unless Gerrard fit. If fit in a game like this he plays.
  4. I had no issue. Printed tickets off at home. I am down south though...
  5. Problem for us exiles is we can't get to BP to buy them if they do. So home end is the only choice. Would think they won't be available online which is frustrating but fair enough I guess.
  6. Yep. Come in the lower east stand left hand side... Plenty of tickets left if your quick.
  7. So we've somehow made it to the last day, of what has been a mostly woeful season, with our fate still in our own (well Wellens') hands. My first Latics game was 40 years ago...the Anglo Scotish Cup final V Burnley in 1978...which we lost 4-0 of course....yet somehow Latics had me hooked! Since that day I have never seen my club play in the 4th tier of English football. I've seen us get smashed 3-0 at home to Orient on a freezing Feb nights in front of barely 2000 supporters, and been lucky enough to be around during the pinch me years, watching that unbelievable bunch of players destroy most things in front of them. And nothing will ever compare to seeing "that" penalty kick go in! However, I feel next Saturdays game is probably more important than anything in the previous 40 years, in respect to the future of our club. Some say going down may do us good? Nothing could be further from the truth in my opinion. Yes, occasionally it does re-galvanize a club and they prosper, but rarely a club of our status. Those that do OK and bounce back successfully usually have a very rich benefactor, a rich history, or a sparkly new stadium...none of which we are lucky enough to possess. I don't need to quote examples of clubs similar to ours in fan base, and stature, who once relegated to the 4th tier simply carried on falling. Just look at the National League clubs and below and it's self explanatory. We can only hope we somehow manage to win our first away game for some time next week, and start again from scratch next year. I do believe we have the foundation of a team that can challenge in league one next season with some smart additions and more importantly an experienced manager. I've made no secret over the last 3 months of my views on Wellens not being up to the task and unfortunately the proof is in the pudding. However he and the team will have my full support at Northampton (from the home stand!) and hope we can somehow maintain our League 1 status. We have some of the most amazing and passionate fans in the game - mates who support other clubs, and who have attended games with me over the years cannot believe the numbers who travel, and we deserve better than League 2 football and possibly worse to follow. Lets not fuck this up next weekend. KTF, Londonboy.
  8. Just bought mine...West Stand lower left...not risking waiting for more to be released
  9. Feels like another missed opportunity against a team on the beach.... Still at least its in our own hands now
  10. No access to the game today except text... How are we playing?
  11. Risk of getting completely overrun in midfield. Hope Wellens doesn't blow it today Yes a win would be ideal but a draw still gives us a fighting chance Shitting it!!!!
  12. 44 goals conceded last season....73 this season to date...true or not which would you prefer?
  13. We are not talking about Shez...and excuses are nothing more than a reason to fail in my book
  14. Some decent points well made Harry, but relegation needs to be avoided at all costs! It's a slippery slope! Football changes so quickly these days. In May 2015, MKD were promoted to the Championship, Chesterfield and Swindon were both in the play offs. Role on 3 years... MKD will be relegated to league 2, Chesterfield to the National League and Swindon a club in disarray struggling in mid table L2. We need to be careful what we wish for, and just put in 2 fucking good performances and start again next season. Oh for 17th place!!
  15. Course he is....he's quoting that the poor training facilities have led to more more injuries than other teams get, meaning we have only a few fit defenders, and intimating that's why we are where we are! All teams have fucking injuries. Its his job to deal with them. We wouldn't be in this position today if he had instilled some more belief into the players He needs to take some bloody responsibility for what he puts out on pitch. Only a few weeks ago we had Dummigan, Gerrard, Bryan and Moimbe as a back 4....a half decent defense in my view and we were fucking awful! Perhaps he needs to look at his own training methods.....funny we didnt have the same issues last season at this stage....
  16. FFS. I've just realised we could actually be relegated on Saturday if we lose! If this can't get the team motivated then we deserve to go down.
  17. We'd also lose circa 60-80k per game in revenue from the likes of Sunderland, Bolton, Birmingham, Bradford, Pompey etc. Our big games would be Bury and Coventry!!
  18. Perhaps the answer is dont make appointments based on a couple of good games as caretaker with little or no pressure on.... These rarely work.
  19. Shez for last 2 games anyone?? Can't get any worse....
  20. Fucking gutted about tonight but it was coming. Players had no belief or direction for months. Should have changed it weeks ago as I said but no point now. Just need something good to happen Saturday... ?
  21. Agree great move to get him locked down - showed great promise to date particularly at Oxford and Wimbledon. Just need to ensure when we sell him....which we will there is a big sell on clause etc etc included
  22. Common topic of conversation on here lately has been our lack of flexibility in midfield. So what's would be the best midfield 4 you have seen play for us over the years Mine would be Alan Groves Shez Mike Milligan Carl Valentine Oh we can dream.....
