  1. There is one of those managers at Halifax. Oldham fan I believe, nice bloke….
  2. Was Ian Hill approached to do it for free? He is a Chartered Surveyor, ex Club Director and Oldham Fan and presumably no love lost with AL? Might be conflicted though and unable to act given he is presumably pals with Corney/Blitz et al
  3. As far as I recall, he didn’t say HE would sell. He said the same deal would be available to AL from the current owners.
  4. There are two separate pieces of land earmarked for housing. One is around the current housing estate and little Wembley. This is nothing to do with FLG and will sold / developed by brass bank. The other piece of land runs round the back of the Rochdale Road end. Essentially a back to back deal, the FLG buy and sell it on the same day to an unconnected housing developer. The profit is then used to buy the 14-acres that make up the ground, car park etc. Thats how I understood it anyway. Now, for someone looking for an angle, maybe Paul Whitehead makes money from brokering that deal? Personally, thought he was sincere, loves the club and I didn’t think it was about money for him. His twitter from today makes interested reading on this, including promising no house on BP whilst he is involved.
  5. They are not borrowing the money. Amounts not specified, but will be funded partly by sale of a piece of land which completes at same time as the purchase (so they don’t need the cash). There is a site plan on here which might help; http://d3d4football.com/fan-led-group-unveil-their-plans-for-oldham-athletic/) The balance is from fans buying shares, but they seemed pretty relaxed about amounts, so presumably majority of the funding is sorted. Paul talked about fist pumping coming out of a meet with Blitz before the Fulham game, happy he’d agreed a deal which would work.
  6. The income elephant is based on projections, they didn’t give detail. Rent from Glogym and the top floor which is going to be rented (I’d wager to a business run by Simon Wood expected to bring in £100K+PA) are two sources It is not being funded by debt, so there will not be loan repayments to take against this
  7. Not quite a straightforward as that. The question was asked that if they money was just given, it could be sent on whatever the club wanted.... and the example of team building was used. To prevent this, It would be controlled by shareholders of the FLG (which could be any fan who wants to buy shares). Some similarities to player share type arrangement I guess
  8. I don’t know Kevin Williams. Not sure how you take what he posted as shit stirring, or that it contradicts what I stated. “The chairman IS recruiting his own players” It could never be truly a Pete Wild team can it? He can only pick the players signed, therefore why should people stop Pete Wild left be of interference? He did.
  9. It is not a “load of face saving-shite” He did admit it. Wanted it to be a Pete Wild team, but knew it wouldn’t be due to the model the Club wants to operate. He also said (again if on BBC Radio Manchester) that in his second caretaker stint he insisted that things were different and to be fair, they were. Wasn’t critical of AL or the club at all, neither were the FLG
  10. The club use it (free of charge) but it is not part of their lease. It doesn’t form part of the purchase by the FGL These are my words not part of the presentation; it will have houses built on it
  11. The deal to purchase what has been outlined is not conditional on the agreement of the club. Yes they can’t force them to use the offices, etc that are built, but regardless they will buy what they have said they will. The way I understood things was they have no interest in taking over the club, but are happy to support it with income of (based on their projected figures) c£500kpa
  12. I agree. Immediately football club wise not sure anything really changes, but hopefully it’s one of the first steps. Really positive for the area though, I think it’s a good facility and will be even better when it’s finished. I really hope it is successful. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if Simon Wood and Simon Brooke are both involved.
  13. This probably doesn’t help in so much as I have no idea what the plan for response is... But he has definitely received and read it.
  14. The only proper interaction (social media aside) I have had with you was last weeks meeting. You came across to me as very friendly and sociable. Brave thing to do to put your head above the parapet and try and make a difference from which we will all (hopefully) benefit. And you do it voluntarily. I hope it doesn’t put you off. I for one am really appreciative of your efforts. The guy is an imbecile.
  15. Or a newly formed company purchases all assets of the existing company; a Phoenix operation?
  16. Why would Brassbank sell to the fans but not AL? Surely you take the best offer, as long as it is genuine and the transaction can be completed. Thr fact there are allegedly two bidders pushes the price up? It seems apparent there has been no such bidding process, as otherwise the Trust would be aware of it already. He is lying! (Again)
  17. Not wanting to teach anyone to suck eggs.... but in terms of an agenda item (contributing towards meaningful action) will the Trust be providing an update? I appreciate certain things are off limits (potential buy out) but there is obviously known information. For example, why has there now been a change in attitude by the Trust? Equally, Simon Blitz is allowing use of his facility free of charge. Why is that then? I’ve posted before, but it might help get people on side - it’s a team game in terms of getting some success?
  18. Swinton Lions Rugby are another good example - their home went many years ago (for housing) and the Club now barely exists. AL had a good opportunity, most fans appeared delighted Corney had gone and he could have easily built a great deal of good will if he had been transparent/honest. Has been neither and I agree, that he is a lost cause, he isn’t going to change. A united front has has got to be the forward and other than the trust, who is better placed? However, they also need to start being more open. Said before I am new to the party, but from a somewhat fresh pair of eyes, how many times are updates or action promised and then nothing? In their defence, small in numbers and they are volunteers. They need help. Perhaps the best way of obtaining this is by putting the cards on the table with some honesty of their own? Build some respect and TRUST and get people on board by telling them what’s going on. I can understand withholding things when trying to build a relationship with AL, but clearly now that isn’t going to happen. He has had more enough than chances, but has scant disregard for the staff, players, management and fans, he doesn’t want help and appears he is going to destroy the club if he continues.
  19. I am now in second season as season ticket holder having attended probably half the games the year before. Sick of overpaid Premier League nonsense, football fan first and foremost so decided to watch the team closest to where I now live. I would expect there to have been a structure in place a long time ago, irrespective of issues that needed resolving. I was very positive when AL took over and he has done some good if simple things (Joe Royle stand, painting, etc) but amongst other things the high level of staff turnover does not fill me with confidence. I can explain away in my own mind perhaps some of it, but whilst I don’t know Simon Brook, him being around felt like a good thing, sacking him, not so much. No smoke without fire and there are too many warning signs to suggest all is well. Yes, what goes on on the pitch is my main concern, but strikes me as chicken and egg in terms of the business side / on pitch performance. Thanks for the reply.
  20. Hi Underdog First of all, I come in peace. Communication from The Trust does seem to have reduced over the last few months. Equally, a number of your more recent posts suggest an air of , at best, frustration with AL? Putting two and two together maybe, but personally feels ike there is something going on, especially since following what appeared to be a better relationship with AL (than SC) little information is now forthcoming. Appreciate you may well be restricted in what you can say, but any comment you can make? Thanks
  21. O’Grady specifically made things much worse. Agree 110% with other posts, Surridge and Lang far superior and actually make things happen.
  22. He was heading to the gym as was Holloway
  23. Agents website suggests could be divided into two - hence rent would be half of this if looked at as a smaller site - would this be large enough? Regardless, at £75kpa I don’t think a short term tenure would be a worry - how on earth will it ever rent out!? Footflow on all but matchdays is minimal, would be a challenge for any business to sustain the rent required I would think . Crazy money.
  24. Fane was training briefly on Monday. Very briefly. He was there in training kit, headed out onto the pitch with the rest of the squad before Paul Terry seemed to tell him he wasn’t allowed to train and he was walked back to the dressing room before heading to the gym. To be honest, he looked absolutely gutted and I felt really sorry for him. He isn’t the most talented, but for me his work ethic can’t be questioned. Excluded from training, but he still turned up ready to go!
