    Genuine question. What’s people’s gut feel on wether he’s cut out for management? I hope he inspire’s the players, gets them playing nice football. An tells the chairman to do one. I fear that very quickly, he’ll think/realise his personality isn’t enough to deal with the shitstorm of managing us.

    I don’t disagree. But how’s that relevant? We are talking about the running club, not a few faceless people on a messageboard.

    Spot on Mids. If people want to look past everything you’ve put, (Which a fair few do) then it’s blind hope. Which actually is to be admired, because without those folk we would be non league already. However it doesn’t cushion the fact we are going one way and isn’t up. I still can’t get my head around why Scholes would take the job. We have a very average squad, no money, no back room staff, no board, and an egomaniac for an owner. People keep saying ‘we don’t know his wealth’ Well I’d say our squad and late wages tells you a lot about his bank account. Even if you had affinity with the club though, and you had been living on Mars, one conversation with Bunn would put you in the picture. The whole club is a circus. It’s really sad.

    I agree he does get a lot of blame, sometimes unfairly, but he doesn’t help himself at times. Let’s hope this appointment draws a line in the sand, because if AL walks in the dressing room, (despite promising he won’t) Scholes won’t be here two minutes.

    Ok. But why? What are the lower leagues ‘about’? Its exactly your point I’m genuinley interested in Eyrsey. Is it it because it’s what you know, and your apprehensive about a new model? Do you feel we’re losing our identity by playing foreigners? What’s ‘wrong’ with a team of foreigners?

    Nepo or Dayton? Missilou or wesoloski? Miombe or Black? Maouche or Whittaker? You can argue these exapmles, but my point is we’ve had far far more shit players in the last 15 years than good ones. So if that’s the case, why not try other markets?

    How do you all feel, about the possibility in the not to distant future of a squad full of foreign players? I’m interested in all the posts that seem to suggest home players are best. If so, why? Are players more talented in this country?? One thing I do get, is that whenever anybody moves to a new country in any job it takes time to settle. However other than that, is there any difference between signing 8 foreign lads and 4 being shit, and 4 being decent. Than there is with 8 British lads with with the same success rate? Why are we so scepital of forgein imports? For me, as long as they’ve made to feel welcome and the team ethic is good surely we’ve got as good chance as anybody else. Or I am missing something?
