Cash Machines in the ground

Recommended Posts

Would this be a good idea to generate cash? I was at Cricket at Old Trafford the other week and my mate thought there would be a cash machine in the ground because there was one at Villa, from my experience of the area around BP there are very few places to get cash, theres one at the Clayton Green and one at the Petrol Station opposite the Old Grey Mare. Now I'm no expert but what these cash machines charge go to the business that host it or does it go to someone else? My thoughts on an argument against is that we probably don't get enough fans/customers to make it worthwhile

Question who someone who knows how these things work, would this be a good idea or not?

imagine the complaints from people paying a £1.50 withdrawal fee to buy a pie that no longer existed?

Interesting one. I wouldn't use it, but that's not to say it wouldn't pay. It staggers me how many people do still use machines that charge you to retrieve your own money.

Exactly. I absolutely refuse to pay to withdraw my own money. If I can't find a free cash machine i'd rather go without...

Although to answer your original question Tommy I reckon it could be worth while as I know plenty of people who would be stupid / drunk / desperate enough to use it...

I don't know of any free cash machines within 10 minute walk of Boundary Park, the ones I know of all charge aswell

This would make money £1.50 a tie obviously. I think it is a decent idea.

The one down the retail park is often out of money if it is busy and a lot of people are to lazy to bother about £1.50 by trekking to the next cash point.

Never knew there was one in the hospital though, is that near the shop?

So the club would be charging fans to use the cash machine?

I honestly wouldn't go to another game at Boundary Park. I mean that.

The cash machine would be there IF you wanted to use it.

There currently isn't a cash machine there.

There would be one that you could use IF YOU wanted to use it but it would charge you.

Like many sensible people you probably wouldn't use it but some would. Therefore generating money for the club.

Like that is the only cash machine inth e country doing this

Simple fact, no bank in the country will put cash machine that does not charge at BP.

On the other hand , the ones that charge, LAtics get a cut

But to be honest Ithink most people avoid the fee ones, understandably.

But it is a choice

Won't go to BP if they charge for a cash machine withdrawl? THat's the best yet.

Its not how it works unfortunately. It was a few years back, but organised getting one put in the student accommodation building i managed. Cant remember the exact arrangement, but ultimately you have to pay a fee for having one on your premisis, and then you only start making money after a certain number of transactions.

We had 2000 students in the complex, and seem to remember it was touch and go whether we would make anything - and that was on a machine where 2000 people walked past every day. I'd seriously doubt whether a machine that is used every other saturday would make anything - it would probably cost the club money...

Either way, I doubt it will make more than a few quid, if anything.... might be wrong though and the system has changed...

Fee charging cash machines would be a bad idea in my opinion. I wouldn't feel I was helping the club by using one I'd feel they were taking money off me. Completely unnecessary. Keep thinking of other ideas.

I can't believe people think this is a good idea. It might make the club some money but it is just wrong to do. Non starter, it would make me feel worse about the club that I already do.

Want to make more money? Put a good product on the pitch, provide products I want off the pitch.
