If you exclude hughes.

Some of my worst moments were off the pitch (watching from a distance)

Joe leaving, first time.

Chris Moore's fire sale

Administration

Failsworth falling through

On the pitch

Someone will correctly if I'm wrong, under Ronnie Moore we lost away at Chesterfield towards the end of the season. Despite fighting for our lives at the bottom of the league, not one player on that pitch looked in the slightest bit interested. I have no idea why that sticks with me but I found it soul destroying. The faith certainly waivered after that.

welost 1-0. I remember being at Shefield train station waiting and contemplating life in League 2 (or whatever it was called then). Just at teat moment loads of milwall fans turned up after playing at Sheffield United and started a scrap with police.

A 3-0 defeat v Ipswich on the way out of what's now the championship. Waiting for a cab outsdide the ground and seeing a group of players come out laughing and joking. I know one fan who concluded that the whole system was taking the p!ss and hasn't been back since.

Wrexham away on a Tues night 03???? lost 4-0 got trolleyed all day then sobered up watching that cr@p, think Pogs saved a pen as well

The 1 & only Latics game I’ve ever left early – ever. My mate was driving & he’d had enough when the penalty was given that would have made it 5-0. As we were walking out; we heard the ironic cheers from our end so guessed it’d been missed. We also had to have a police escort back to our car as we had inadvertently parked in dodgy area & the plod were genuinely worried for 2 lads walking back on their own! Nice of them eh?

Other than that – as a kid I had my 9th birthday party on the day of the Littlewoods Final. Having an Oldham Athletic themed Football party was clearly deemed a good idea by my parents; until we lost; I cried (I know; I know – I was 9!!); other young mates who were latics fans cried – and the atmosphere sunk faster than a lead balloon. Not even jam sandwiches, Cadburys Mini Rolls and cocktail sausages on cocktail sticks stuck into a tin-foiled potatoe could lighten the mood!!!!

Since growing up somewhat; most of these others have mentioned:

the QPR result was a kick in the nuts (like Rudemedic I was listening to commentary in my Uni room; things were chucked around when Furlong bagged!)

Blackpool 2nd leg was a :censored:ter (though expected after the 1st leg result) & again was on my birthday FFS!!!

Seeing a fellow ‘Tic getting chinned; whilst he was holding his toddler daughter in his arms by a knuckle-dragging Sheff Weds yob was a particular low-light

Hartlepool Tuesday night last season under Penney was simply dire

Ian “Thomas”-Moore scoring & celebrating in front of the RRE on BFJ’s return..............

Lots of highlights as well; but that’s for another thread eh?

Same here, what a disaster of a game.

The whole of last season. But especially Leeds away. £28 to watch probably the worst performance i've ever seen by any Oldham side.

:censored: you Dave Penney.

Worse than the 0-0 home draw vs Tranmere, or the 3-0 home defeat to monkey hangers?

I'm too young to remember that goal and only had a season ticket for last 6 or 7 seasons, so not extensive knowlegde. Saying that there a few that stick out in my mind; this season when Failsworth fell through and reading Corney's comments on Chron site was heartbreaking, M***e trying to kill the club and on the pitch; Blackpool play-offs and 3-0 loss to Hartlepool, as it was my girlfriend's first match and left her very much unimpressed.

My 20th Birthday, two down in 20 minutes against a team cut adrift at the bottom of the league. A very young John Oster tore us a one that day, as I worked Saturdays back then it was my first game for 4 months - it was depressing….

I was at that game too - people were hurling shirts and season tickets onto the pitch from the Chaddy End.
