opinions4u
Good news. It means that 20% sell on clause has just been extended for 4 years and his transfer value has just gone up. Not going to leave on a free at the end of the season. Edited August 27, 2011 by opinions4u

JohnnyPimp
Doesn't our clause expired when he is 24? I can't see that being true. This may be being mixed up with the development compensation rules.
DanHague
Im suprised they havent bought out the clause, the money would be nothing to them.
opinions4u
Im suprised they havent bought out the clause, the money would be nothing to them. Why would they buy it out if they have no intention of selling him?
Stitch_KTF
Would it be untoward to suggest Corney approaches Richard's agent with talk of an A1 sized brown envelope should a mega-money move be engineered?

Roger Ritchie
Good news. It means that 20% sell on clause has just been extended for 4 years and his transfer value has just gone up. Not going to leave on a free at the end of the season. When was the last time City 'sold' someone though, all their players at the moment are going out on loan because no one can match their wages or afford them. RobOAFC
Why would they buy it out if they have no intention of selling him? They've tried to previously buy it out.. Can't remember the exact figure, think it was around £500,000 they offered, and we just laughed at them..
BlueJazzer
Snap their hand off now! Just ask city to buy Cody Mac for us and we'll call it straight.

Can't remember the exact figure, think it was around £500,000 they offered, and we just laughed at them.. My memory was that they offered something derisory around the £150k mark. slystallone
Me too, it was not above £250K max IIRC. That's why we "laughed" (not sure that would happen TBH). Let's be honest; if £500K was offered now; we'd snap their hand off.
losesome
I remember reading a few months back that city were looking to help latics out by buying the clause out. No figure was mentioned and although city said they have no intensions of selling they would look to see if something could be done to help latics !! Obviously nothing cam of this ? lancy lad
I seem to remember Citeh offering aprox £1m at the time when they were skint and Chelski were sniffing for about £22m but that was only papertalk. We should have done a deal for £500k!
