Players to go out on loan..

Gotta be Mellor. Starting to look like his face just doesn't fit with Dickov. Which is a shame because I think he's got a big future in midfield. Reckon he would do the job that we are all wishing furman would do at the moment. A good loan spell and positive reports might get him back on the radar.

totally agree - i would have inthe centre as an attacking midfielder - he has the build and power to tackle back, carry the ball and has a great left foot.

Just do not know why the only sniff he has had has been JPT??!! so promising last season vs Carlisle in midfield and playing there in pre-season..............

Mellor is a strange one as I expected him to be really challenging for the first team this season.

whats he like in training? Is he out on piss? Bad attitude? personal problems? the ability is clearly their

smith did well IMO in both boxes. I just think with him in the team we become too direct.

Smiths first touch is appaling one moment in the first half on tuesday where the ball came to him all he had to do was take a touch and put Derbyshire through, it took him 3 touches to control the ball before he fell over it. He wins most things in the air but he's dreadful on the deck, so for now we should only use him from the bench.

From what I have heard David Mellor he's a quiet unassuming lad that keeps his head down and works hard. It's more a case of Dickov prefers Wesolowski and Furman and not passing the halfway line.

If I had an attacking midfielder though like Mellor, I'd use him. We were a different side at Chesterfield once he came on, suddenly our midfield attacked and began shooting on goal. The lad has impressed whenever he has played, but another one where cautious Dicky allows his set in stone tactics to ruin peoples' chances of staking a claim.

And why did he sign Taylor after binning Riley, Burns and Parkes I do not know. The lad is not ready for first-team football and won't be for a while. Another case of no matter what Dickov has to have his own way….

Even if Mellor isn't what he wants in centre mid then surely he would be atleast be an option at Left Back or left mid he has the ability to play either position his defensive work would need to improve but if you have wes and furman sitting it gives the full backs licence to get forward. Grounds isn't a particularly bad left back he's solid but far from irreplaceable and Mellor would certainly give us more going forward with his ability to deliver a good ball, plus its always an asset to have someone who is a specialist from set pieces.

But Mellor hasn't convinced much in previous attempts, right? I think his creativity would be best used somewhere in midfield, rather than replacing a specialist left back.

He isn't quick enough for full back, but could develop into a powerful forward driving midfield player - if given licence here to do so.

He probably would be best as a midfielder your right I was playing devils advocate and suggesting a possible alterantive to him going into centre mid because he is the type of player who could play a few different positions, either way its dissapointing to not see more of him so far as I had high hopes for him this season.
