Temporary stand on Lookers?

Recommended Posts

A temporary stand for me is a no brainer, a 3000 seater at an average of 15 quid a head is 45 grand in revenue, add extra food and programme sales, possibly extra merchandise sales, and even charge an extra quid on top of normal ticket prices if you have to and the club will make a profit on this.

Even if it costs £30k to put up and half the revenue goes to Liverpool?

Temporary stand? Why??

Just put the scousers on the rubble with a couple of milk crates to see over the people in front of them.

Anyone who has ever visited the city of Liverpool knows it is a lot better than the conditions they live in!

As with demolishing the Lookers stand a lack of foresight by the club directors, Liverpool will now probably have more fans at the ground than Latics.

Chelsea got the big end on the RRE in 99. If we give liverpool more we are shooting ourselves in the foot

Even if we gave Liverpool the whole of the RRE they would only have 4,500 fans at the game. We took more than that to Anfield.

How is it a lack of foresight? How would foresight have made it cheaper to erect, made it easier in H&S terms, etc?

The Lookers stand had no need to be demolished. If H&S is the main concern temporary stands wouldn't exist, but they do.

Many other clubs have erected temporary stands in the past - so why not the Latics ?

My general feeling is in your opinion the club directors can do no wrong.

You talked about foresight. What would it have given us in this particular situation? You said "as with demolishing the Lookers" so that means you are applying your point to the temporary stand.

Demolishing the Lookers - with hindsight...- was a mistake but it seems as though you make a claim and don't back it up.

And I think the economics of erecting a stand at Latics have been addressed earlier. Do you really think that SC would spurn the chance to make money if it was practical to do so? Do you?

If memory serves, didn't it need a load of work doing to it for it to remain viable? If the work wasn't done then it wouldn't have got its safety certificate and so couldn't be used?

As it is we don't fill the 3 stands we have so as a money saving exercise TTA knocked it down in anticipation of putting the new one up anyway?
