ronnieblair
It might be only me... But does anyone else feel queasy when any manager, particularly one of ours, says "the lads really worked their socks off" as features in the latest written account of an interview with LJ on LaticsWorld. God how I hate that particular football saying. Second only to Dick*v saying "the lads did ever so well" (but were beaten again) and "the lads tried ever so hard" (but were beaten again). Grrrr! Right, so it is only me then.
maddog
Dick*v? Really?
Oh Heck C-Beck
Football cliches make you queasy? I'd go see your GP mate!
Matt
Dick*v? Really? Yeah, I thought that was a bit odd too.
Stevie_J
One thing that impressed me about LJ's initial interview was that he claimed that he always gives 100%. Not 110%. Because you can't :censored:ing put in 110%. That's more than everything so it doesn't make any :censored:ing sense. It's a :censored:ing stupid thing to say. It's not funny. It's not clever. You got that, Shearer?
SholverBlue
I genuinely really like Dickov. Don't understand the problem with him.

GlossopLatic
At the end of the day its a game of 2 halves.
oafc_lover
Could understand this post if LJ had been in charge all season and we'd lost most games with him saying this after every game. But he's had 3 interviews since being appointed and said it ONCE after a game we'd WON! Get a grip man!
GlossopLatic
We're not getting carried. We're just going to take it one game at a time.

Microcuts
Gordon Brown was once slated for using the phrase "101%". Not giving enough apparently... Edited March 21, 2013 by Microcuts
opinions4u
For all his failings, Paul Dickov does not need as asterisk in his name. He's ok is Paul.
JonesyOAFC
If you're going to put an asterisk anywhere in Dickov's name, surely you'd put it after the D?

blueatheart
Apparently you have to score more than the other team to win.

You got that, Shearer? Generally nothing wrong with 110%, it just means a 10% increase, it just needs to be qualified. "The lads gave 110% effort compared to Saturday" "The lads gave 110%" Sheareresque nonsense.
garcon
Surely if you're really that squeamish is should be D*ckov ?

Hands on
We have to let him slip every now and then but the one thing I liked was his ability to speak in joined up writing with no football cliches. Lee Johnson's drab blue army!
