jsslatic
Will have seven games in hand on some after today after another home postponement. Already playing Saturday/Tuesday until mid-April. Could be a real contender for the drop if fatigue sets in/they lose a couple once they can start playing and heads drop.
PhilStarbucksSilkySkills
I was thinking the exact same thing even before today's match was postponed. I also noticed that their remaining game against us will take place following a mass of Saturday/Tuesday fixtures for them.
4oakslatic
those poor buggers from Carlisle they must have been almost there when it was called off. This is their pitch at 12.30 apparently..(from Twitter ) BghU9rTCEAEL0jL.jpg Edited February 15, 2014 by 4oakslatic

OAFC_Ryan
Feel sorry for Carlisle fans, last year at MK they were given the go ahead at 10am only for the game to be postponed at 1:30!
Stagger Lee
Why have so many Crawley games been postponed? Is it all home games = crap pitch or a mixture of home and away and just bad luck?
Latics_Fanatic
One one hand, yes it could be great news if they get fatigue setting in, a few injuries and lose a few games. However, should they win quite a few of them? Bad news for us.
iamjonesyyoafc
Why have so many Crawley games been postponed? Is it all home games = crap pitch or a mixture of home and away and just bad luck? They've played at home once in 2014 and that was in the cup. Just the two league away games (both 2-2 draws) and have been unlucky to have games away at Brentford and Port Vale called off. the_mighty_bosh
16 games in March and April combined. If their game at home to Tranmere is called off too (which has to be a possibility) it'll be 4 weeks without a game before coming back into their long stretch of Saturday/Tuesday games. Hitting the ground running won't be easy. They're certainly one of the relegation battlers.
Matt
Think its disgusting that a decision couldn't be made earlier on. Disgusted is a bit much, it's inconvenient at best.
jsslatic
When you see the pictures of the pitch, there's no way that was going to be playable but Crawley allowed people to spend time and money travelling down to call it off after 12. It is more than inconvenient. I'd be livid. Edited February 16, 2014 by jsslatic

jsslatic
I'm sure I'd be able to soldier on. The alternative of course being carrying on past Crawley to Brighton and throwing oneself off the pier, what with there being no middle ground. slystallone
Bradford are struggling; dropping like a stone and with Wells leaving; they've lost their major goal threat. Crawley will have a huge battle there - with that pile up of fixtures i can only see them struggling...
sloth
I'm local, and I know how hard Crawley worked to get this game on. They had fans down at the ground from 6:00am apparently. They were desperate to play it - not least because they have no income any more because they've stopped playing games! Terrible for Carlisle though, and I believe Crawley will be speaking to Carlise on Monday to see what they can do for the away fans. I think the club already has to cover the cost of the Carlisle team's overnight stay. It's almost as if League 1 is waving at a stationary Crawley as they slide down the table - bye bye! The problem with the pitch in these extreme conditions, is that it lies at the bottom of a hill, and the ground is saturated. I'd say the Tranmere match has an even chance of going ahead. rudemedic
More fixture congestion for Sheffield United too. If they win their QF it means fixture congestion to us too. We are due to play them on SF weekend

disjointed
They need to make them play elsewhere. This surely has to be the best option, if the pitch is unplayable now, after a few home games it will be like a cabbage patch.
Latics_Fanatic
Shows investment in the pitch at BP has been worthwhile over the years. Genuinely have one of, if not the best pitch in our league.

jsslatic
Interview with their CE on Crawley website is very telling. They're an absolute shambles. Elsewhere Coventry beating Carlisle. Could do with Vale getting one at Valley Parade.
