24hoursfromtulsehill
Getting rid of him was about the maddest thing the Lib Dems ever did. It's true he liked a drink, and occasionally faltered on national TV as a result - but he was a vote winning machine. At the time Clegg, Goldsworthy, Teather and Huhne put their heads together to get rid of him, the Lib Dems were threatening Labour (and the Tories) nationally in much the same way that the SNP mullered all comers in Scotland. Now what have they got? Eight MPs, going down to zero at the next election. The 19th century Liberals were finished off mainly by forces outwith their control. The Lib Dems were finished by a puritan metropolitan conspiracy. I'm mightily pissed off I didn't stick him on the list. He was hiding in plain sight, snorting whisky and smurkin tabs in front of my very eyes.

I thought the exact same thing when I heard on the radio this morning that he'd snuffed it.
beag_teeets
Is it wrong that when I saw the news this morning my first thought was "I really must suggest subs in body bag bingo?"

Frankly Mr Shankly
Dusty Rhodes, the American Dream... When the headline said "Wrestling Star Dies" I thought I'd cashed right in with Jake The Snake Roberts. But alas, it wasn't him. He's on some mad yoga and diet program and looks the picture of health these days. Ah well, you can't have them all, eh?

Frankly Mr Shankly
I had a quick check on my candidates.Liz Dawn, Jake The Snake and Morrissey look like they're on the straight path to healthiness right now. Even Valerie Harper, my shoo-in for points, is showing a Queen Mother-like resiliance to the reaper. I'm banking on Joost Van der Westhuizen and Glenn Campbell to see me home this year.
