Pompey Away

There was a half hour period in that first half that we played some of the best football I have ever seen an Oldham team play in 50 years.

Yes, IT was that good.

the second half was a good old-fashioned blood and guts affair - all up a great game

Think you've emphasised the wrong word there...

Good interview on iFollow from RW, but there was a better one played on 5Live around 5:45 when doing the round up of League One.

The presenters said something like I'm. Or am Oldham fan, but I'd want him to get the job after an interview like that.  Passionate and enthusing.

Check it out on iPlayer.

Great victory and performance. The atmosphere was superb but some Pompey fans just could not take it. We were kept in at the end after being pelted with coin of the realm.. it was not much fun.

Trouble outside the ground but mainly Pompey and the police.

Not sure why they got so upset?

Eventually got through to the station and away from the chaos!

COYB!

Shez's downfall was not to play Placide who is first class and to persist with Gerrard and Clarke together at the back. Also I might add that I think Wellens does more preparation and homework on the opposition. He seems to be a crafty bugger because he kept the Doyle situation boiling and they where not ready to see him play. Well done Richie good tactics.

This. Along with the fact that we are up for the game from the first minute. The first half today was the best 45 minutes from us for a long time.

Should have scored at least three by halftime- proud of the boys today.

Left by mutual consent...he wasn't actually sacked was he?
His stubbornness proved costly, but I feel there was nothing "majorly good" about it.

2 wins on the back of it sounds good to me :)

Ps i think he was gently pushed.

He was going to make changes tho, this his, his team what ever way u spin it. I worry what will happen if the loan guys leave tho.

It's not just about making changes though, is it? It is also about transferring belief and passion to the players. I do believe that for whatever the reasons, Sheridan was going through some kind of personal difficulty and his lack of focus...plus his legendary stubbornness...undermined his capabilities as a manager.

If this investment does go through, hopefully these loan players will still be here until after January.

Which is now winning games now shez has gone.

Coincidence? Not for me.

It's never that black and white is it? Shez brought the players in and if he'd had more luck (e.g. Fane red v Charlton), results could have picked up. Wellens has obviously changed things up a bit and given them a boost, but it's too early to say he's a new LJ. It always looked like we were in a false position - we now have a bit of momentum which hopefully the new manager (whoever he is) can build on.

Feel sorry for shez, what a eye he has for players! Doyle, Bryan, Bryant, palmer, Gardner, main, hollaway (has potential, you can see why we signed him. He wins balls in the air, or did). This is sheridans team, let's hope if wellens gets it he has a similar eye. We have to prey that the new owner is LOADED!!! The price tag for Bryant and Doyle had probably trebled

Who is shez oh that guy who fucked his job up!!! Shez is old news and a fool...RW Playing the right players the right tactics and the right way says allot for someone with 2 games in charge ha

Banks tracking their no 7, never gets goal side, 7 wasn't the scorer but it's not good enough in this new energetic and committed team I suspect.

Some of you guys attack  Banks before he has laced his boots up. Give him a break, we won with one one of the best away performances I have ever seen, why bring negative Banks sentiments into it. Try tomenjoy the moment

We are playing like, and look like  a  Dutch team with Seedorf in it

In fact, getting giddy here I know,  Im thinking mid 70's Dutch - Johnny Rep passes to Cruyff  who scores !!!!!!

Oldhams total football !!!!

Total football hyperbole apart what system did we play?

Must say some of their fans ain’t exactly gracious in defeat. Some of their twitter posts are appalling

I commented before the game that their fans are aggressive. They showed that today they are a disgrace. I have never in 50 years had to be escorted out of a ground by the "back door" . All this "Play up Pompey" is a front, they are an embarrassment to football and can't take defeat.

As an addendum one old lady apologised to us after the game for the behaviour of their idiots, which was nice.

I was surprised tbh, I didn’t go to the game... but Pompey never came across as a club with fans like that
