  1. This could be a signing for the development squad!
  2. Do you know who the lease is payable to. Is it Brassbank (themselves) or Latics?
  3. We need the best person for the job, not the colour of their skin. If you are thinking of Hasselbank, he didn't exactly do very well at Northampton.
  4. Scholes was a great player, but would be another rookie. He would definitely need someone like Phelan with him. I'm just not sure he would cut it as a manager.
  5. Odd to sack RW after letting him sign four player!! A new manager may not want them.
  6. Very odd timing. Ether RW is behind the article and has been found out, or him and AL have fallen out over transfer dealings. One other reason could be that a replacement has already been fond and RW has only been kept on to keep things ticking over. In my view a new manager needs to have experience in lower league football. Is it Curle who mysteriously left Carlisle I wonder.
  7. Most Prem clubs are away on lucrative pre season games abroad. All we would get would be against an 11 they had left at home.
  8. If our crowds average the same as last season (big if because of lower away followings), we would have a mid table budget. Some other clubs though get more income away from match days than we do. None of them have to stump up around 250k to cover Premiership pensions like we do. It therefore falls on the owner to put his hand in his pocket to give us a decent budget. Lets hope he is willing to do that.
  9. Stockport really frustrated us that day if I remember rightly. We were expecting to thrash them, but they shut up shop and I think it ended 0-0. I wish we had Shaw and Fryatt up front now, in fact the whole team would do a good job next season.
  10. Perhaps Paul Terry could have a word with John now that he has left Villa and offer him a new challenge. Now that would be the defence sorted. I'll pull my tongue out of my cheek now!!
  11. Just need to get Doyle in now. He would be on the same wave length as Jose anticipating the through balls and would score loads. One thing that bothers me is the comment in the Liverpool Echo which says that he would have played more games in the development team if he had not struggled with some niggling injuries. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jose-baxter-leaves-everton-join-14725789
  12. It'll probably be in South America in 2026. I's their turn.
  13. I'm only guessing but perhaps RW and AL see it as a gesture getting the fans involved. Lets face it the amount playershare hands over won't go very far. Doing it early shows that it's not because of the money.
  14. Maybe he thought he would buy the club and buy the rest at a later date if Blitz and Gazal are willing to sell.
  15. Where is the evidence that there is a huge tax bill? AL stated that he wasn't a billionaire (that's not the same as not having a large amount). Anyone with less than £20/30m of disposable cash would be crazy to buy a football club at our level, and I doubt AL is crazy. We have been told by Roy that he has intentions to rebuild the main stand and improve the training facilities. He came to the club with ambitions to get us into the Championship, but unfortunately it didn't work out as he expected. Getting us promoted out of L2 will cost less than L1 promotion! That doesn't seem like someone with less money than Corney to me.
  16. If we are challenging at the top end, then the only thing which will lower this seasons average is the away support.
  17. Just shows how far Scottish football has fallen.
  18. If we bounce back up then decent L2 players won't be good enough for L1. We need decent L1 players so that we don't have to offload them next season.
  19. It says on the website that adult sales are 10% down on last season. Whatever number that was.
  20. None of us know what RW has had to put up with off the field. Whatever it was, it had an effect on the players. AL knows what happened and may have decided to give RW another chance after the disturbing influence has been removed.
  21. Obviously SC has been forced off the board, whether it was because of this article in The Sun or not I don't know. What bothers me is why SC seems to have been causing friction off the field. What is it that he didn't like about the way the club was being run. I can see that AL was not aware of what state the pitch and training facilities get into from January onwards and would blame SC for not telling him. This could have led to them falling out, but SC got his money. We all know that SC was juggling money around to make ends meet, so why is he complaining about how the club is run now, It all seems very odd to me.
