  1. TTA have checked him out thoroughly and he has a better record than Gannon and is more experienced. It's the owners money at stake not ours
  2. Ipswich have offered him a new contract which he has refused to sign. If they can't offer him what he wants, we have no chance.

    Simple Question

I really think he expected to get us into the playoffs, and maybe wouldn't have taken the job on otherwise. I just wonder if he really wants the hastle of managing at our level.
  4. All that was done without the stupid Bosman rule, and the utterly ridiculous transfer windows. It's not as easy to build a team now. We now have players mostly on two year contracts which expire at the same time.
  5. Golbourne was a better defender.
  6. Yes it was in his LW interview. He also said that he had lost a friend in the manager. Maybe he's decided to leave anyway after the way he thought Shez had been trwated.
  7. Injuries. Could be that he can't cope with League football.
  8. The players looked fit enough to me at the final whisltle when Shez was with us, and Joe remarked after his 1st day of training that there were no fitness issues. Something must have changed in training though, we now have far more training injuries. Something Shez avoided.
  9. True. What a terrible indictment on the Oldham public
  10. 90% of the clubs in our division will be in the same boat, some may even go into administration (Southampton for one). No manager can build a squad these days. Two year contracts are the norm. If you manage to find a decent player he will be off either after yaer one for a fee, or for free when his contracts up.
  11. Can I but into this discussion. Don't TTA own BP separately from the club?
  12. I don't really rate either of them. Niether are good enough for a team with ambitions of promotion.
  13. When he has played he has shown a few neat touches, but he's not strong enough. Always being pushed off the ball
  14. I wonder how they reached an odd figure like £108,000. Who will be paying for the lighting and what happens on match days?
  15. I doubt very much that Jones will be here next season. He signed a new contract at Wolves before he joined us. However if they get promoted, he may well be offload for a fee, which I doubt we would pay. Ferriera (if that how his name is spelt) may well be available, but having not seen him play I don't know if he's good enough or not. If Gregan can get his off field distractions sorted out he is worth another season, and Stam is definitely worth another season if he wishes to stay. As I said on another post, there will be a glut of players looking for new clubs next year due to the financial climate. Most clubs will be operating on reduced squads and depending on the loan market when required.
  16. Agreed, but players that are available go to the clubs paying the best wages if they are out of contract. The ones not out of contract demand a fee. This summer will be an eye opener for most players. They will find that wages being offered by the majority of clubs, will be less than they expect. A lot of clubs will be cutting back, and there will be a glut of players on the market.
  17. I agree, but more often than not those same players up their game when a new manager arrives. Look what happened at Spurs, before Harry broght back old faces.
  18. I think Charlton will remain in the lower leagues where they came from. It will be a very mediocre league next year, with most clubs trying to manage on a shoestring. Bristol Rovers and Southend could be in with a shout.
  19. I think he has another season left in him Only if we stay in League 1 !!!!!!!!!!
  20. How can you say Shez was oblivious to them. Windass, Byfield and Gabba have been brought in, in an attempt to solve the problem of scoring goals. All three of them are proven goal scorers at previous clubs, but none of them have been able to score for anyone recently. Thats why they have been loaned to us. No club is going to loan a player to us who is currently knocking in the goals for fun. Are Beckford and Fryatt available?
  21. Signed. It's about time clubs in the Prem voluntarily gave up a percentage of their TV money to lower league clubs.
  22. He certainly won't swap like for like if we are behind in the second half!! What's the betting on Gregan playing up front if we are behind with 15 minutes to play.
  23. First and foremost I reckon he'll avoid Windass, Hughes & Gregan types like the plague. A true shoestring budget will be a blessing in disguise. Bringing kids through and his eye for cheap/free signings like McDonald, Hazell & Allott will serve him very well. Those are the kind of people he wanted in the team. Players who shout at each other on the pitch. He always said that we were a quiet team. Unfortunately players who shout and moan on the pitch also do it off the pitch as well.
  24. Youtube aren't too impressed with PRS either. They've blocked all the music videos, because of the extortionate increase in charges.
  25. He resorted to long ball tactics when we got into the top flight. Due to our lack of cash and inability to attract the better midfield players, Joe resorted to using two battling midfield players to get the ball and move it out to the wings or forwards as quickly as possible. The motto was simply to score more goals than the oppsition.
