  1. should be nailed on. I would be more than happy if he didnt get it and we kept on winning though.
  2. Its a pity TP doesnt want the job what we really need is an attention seeker with 0 confidence that will do all the media work etc so that TP can run things a little less in the limelight For now im just enjoying this little run lets hope good form continues to the end of the season
  3. how often does he show it then?? he look nervous as hell at times to me and his habbit of holding onto the ball for far to long has cost us more than once. He did well against liverpool even without the assist for the winner but he needs to show that same drive and work ethic more often. Hes a player that drifts in and out of games...
  4. Im all for giving youth a chance but at the backend of last season most were calling for tarky to removed from the 1st 11 after an awful run of form where he seemed to ball watch a lot. Its all very well moaning the youths arent getting game time but they arent showing enough when given any. Hes been injured on and off this season but looked good on saturday for the most part. Look at Smith deried for most of the season, scores what should have been a point earner against conventry scores against liverpool and has missed some other good chances but at least hes there in the right areas to come good and now rightly people want to see him in the team. Millar looks like a kid playing park football Mellor looks Ok but nothing to write home about and Winchester might just might have something about him but looks leightweight and nervy The youth teamers we have let go in the past havent come back to haunt us and i doubt they will... We always have this thing with our young players that they are the next big thing but in reality most are just below average
  5. Iwelumo and Barnard all day for me linked well and we still have a target man on the field...if after hour Iwelumo is tireing bring smith on then. If the everton defence are tired Smiths extra height might cause them a few more problems.
  6. think boozy is the better keeper tho there isnt much in it. Alex is very slow when he comes off his line in one on one situations as his kicking can be suspect. Boozy moves well and his kicking his a little better. Both good keepers very little between them
  7. Another thing to add is that both looks knackered after an hour so its m option to swap them about and always have a target man on the pitch
  8. I wonder what games our fans watch sometimes. He was very good today. More mobile tHan smith despite being 35 and with shot to :censored: knees, had a couple of chances. Led the line well and linked well with Bernard and croft. Smith bullied Coates in the air but he doesn't have a lot else to his game. He has improved in recent weeks but I can't believe people r slating CI after today's performance. B
  9. smith did nothin after the 1st 10 minutes. Tried to put himself about failed and that was that - cant belive its the same guy who used to look so good upfont with viduka back in the day
  10. thought he was a good today (they all were) a little shakey on poession sometimes and doesnt bomb forward like wabarra did but with the right training he can RB his own
  11. Dont see Tranmere as rivals - altough maybe in time i will Being honest never a team ive liked going back to days aldridge and co. I think the recent etxra spice in the games has come from moore and the fact we havent done so well against him recently. In my time though ive nevre really considerd blackburn or burnly to be riavals either so maybe its an age/generation thing
  12. I would level that accusation at Wes more than Furman. Furball is generally a decent passer. Both have been awful this season. Furman hasnt been winning many tackles and hes not been pushing forward enuff. Wes has had to tackle in the midfield on his own and doesnt always get close enough to pressure people... No surprise when he isnt getting much help. I struggle with people saying smith has let dickov down??? How many pro seasons has he had? How many games has he started? Mvoto has struggled for form as has simspon (not helped with injuried and being played out of position) Dickov only has himself to blame - no out and out goal scorer again.... an on loan right winger with no cover... One left winger for the season...
  13. Dowie, not sure how i feel about it... would probably prefer larry but not sure its realistic
  14. is there a buy one get one free offer in nandos or something?
  15. the other thing to remember as well is that Smith tires badly after an hour this gives us the option of always having a target man on the field
  16. like it we need another stiker who can play alongside smith if hes going to keep his place in the team for me somewith some pace who can stretch teams a little we can then play baxter in midfield and hopefully between smith holding the ball or AN Other stretching teams he will have more time to get into the last 3rd. Against liverpool Andy Townsend was encouraging us to keep the pressure on turn them round - that what we dont do enough we dont play in the oppositions last 3rd enough and we dont supply enough quality crosses
  17. hasnt done anything for years. Strange signing if true, experienced but isnt he more of a target man type of forward....have we already got on on those...Although CI touch etc might be better id rather have someone with some real pace alongside smith
  18. if we do like we did sunday put someone around him who can chase flicks, close defenders down and be another type of outlet for the team and put some quality balls in the air he will score a few. He always gets chances in matches because of his size - he may never be prolific but he is useful for us im not sure we should be relying on him to play from the start week in week out but at against Liverpool that was his best performance in the air won everything 1st half and some good lay offs and he found the back of the net.
  19. he was awful first half - lets be honest 9 touches too many and lost a lot of ground trying to turn when it wasnt an option Did well 2nd half great cross and showed some composure on the ball and worked his a*** off.
  20. "But there are things that they can do straight away, like making sure they have comfortable seating, clean toilets, convenient places to park and good access. Even making sure people get served quickly at half-time makes a big difference to a fan's match-day experience." and "We open our doors and bars two hours before kick-off, which means fans can come together, have a drink and chat with friends. We also open late into the evening and might even have a band on in the bar which means people feel like they're paying for a night out." BP is just so far behind other grounds that we dont have much option to do stuff like brighton. The club really needs to imrpove the match day experience but we are never going to be able to do that unless we get some sucess and some money coming in...I really dont know what the solution to our run down club and ground is
  21. we also have cliff byrne in the team no right winger (croft is on loan) a former non league striker who isnt good enough for league football No left winger cause Montano is crocked we have had no CM for a few the backups and indeed the 1st choice have been dire all season Baxter is probably the best footballer ive seen here - but he cant do it on his own - although it looks like hes going to have to. I doubt he will be here next season anyway but if we go down there is 0 chance
  22. I think if we go down we loose even more fans more money and the slow death speeds up a little bit. IF and its a massive IF we go down but we have a bit of sucess and come back up quickly that might improve the mood around the club. For me relegation still isnt something i want to contemplate....If we did go down id hope for a bit more of a "nothern league" so that we might generate some localish matches which might push our attendances up. But with a likely reduced budget, poorer players theres no gurantee we will do anthing more than survive. In the immediate future we need to win tonight and put on a good showing against liverpool to try and generate some interest from stay aways - if we get a posative result against liverpool we should be hammering the local press and radio to try and get people back for the next home league game
  23. Suggested this after brentford. We have nothing to loose and taylor looks like he will work the keeper when given chances and baxters range of passing might give our wingers chance to cross to smith. Give it a shot 442 we have nothing to loose
  24. This.. He wont stop trying. He belives what hes doing is the right thing. The rest of us who are sat watchin gutless, tempoless, pub league tactcs football can see hes lost it... Ive been a big fan of Dickov the way he can bring good players in, the way he conducts himself in the media towards the club... first class but he isnt the man to save us from relegation. Liverpool will beat us I can cope with that - but if County do what next... where does the next win come from. WHen PD first arrived we hardly ever lost twice in a row now cant buy a win and he wont change tactis to try and achive this. Time to find a new manager - we have had two and half seasons a bit of stabiliy in todays football world but if we go down the clubs death will be here sooner than i imagined.
