  1. Highest earner at the club, think any new contract offer from us would be on reduced terms so wouldn't surprise me to see him away in January - hope he does stay until the end of this season though.
  2. Looks nothing like him if you ask me.... http://shop.mcfc.co.uk/stores/mancity/products/product_details.aspx?pid=88208
  3. Would be an excellent signing but wage is reputedly 8k a week so guess that rules us out!
  4. Amuses me how they always try to paint themselves as this hard-up club punching well above their weight while at the same time signing the likes of Clinton Morrison and McNamee.
  5. The(non)saga concludes(maybe) http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11710_7139913,00.html
  6. And yet people want Lee or Winchester to play centre mid?
  7. Stephen Brooker, David Carney, Claude Davis, Ryan France, Alan Gow, Robert Kozluk, Kevin Lisbie, Gavin Mahon, Michael McIndoe, Vincent Pericard, Alan Quinn, Gavin Rae, Marcel Seip, Krisztian Timar, Tommy Williams, Daniel Woodards All taken from PFA site, some might have clubs now and and some might be out of our range but I think anyone of these would walk into our team at the moment.
  8. Bournemouth – Difficult to see them doing so well again this time with key players sold. They do score goals though so should finish mid table. Brentford – Some good looking signings, especially McGinn who could be one of the stars of the division. London clubs on the doorstep too should they need to use the loan market. Play off contenders at worst. Bury – Paper thin squad, rookie manager and no Ajose. Relegation candidates. Carlisle – Not strong enough to contend at the top but should have enough to steer clear of trouble. Mid table. Charlton – Gone berserk with new signings but probably needed too. Manager didn't exactly make a flying start but should have learned from that. Top 2 contenders. Chesterfield – Loss of Davies and Smalley could hit them hard. Shez obviously knows the division well though so should keep their heads above water. Bottom 8 but safe. Colchester – Seems to be plenty of doom and gloom there with reduced budget etc. Manager will need to use all his experience but it might not be enough. Relegation candidates. Exeter – Very promising manager but 4 key players through spine of the team have departed and not been replaced. Will be tight but should just survive. Bottom 8 but safe. Hartlepool – Interesting signing in Nobby Solano but they don't score many goals. Should win enough games at home to survive though. Mid table. Huddersfield – Pressure on Clark to deliver promotion this time. Probably unlucky not to go up last season though and in an arguably weaker league should get the job done this time. Top 2 contenders. Orient – Unfashionable gaffer who knows how to get results. Looked like they might pinch 6th place last time but just faded. Key players have stayed and others have joined so looks promising for them. Play off contenders. MK Dons – Missed out in play offs last time. Leven has departed however Baldock and Gleeson have stayed and always seem to be able to attract good loan players. Play offs at worst. Notts County – Manager is a cock but does know how to get out of this division. Jeff Hughes should be a good signing but much will depend on the other Hughes - if him and Allen get along then they could improve on last season. Top half. Preston – Plenty of players have moved on but still some quality there with Hume, Mellor and Ashbee. Manager will get every last drop of effort from his side and think they'll do better than most think. Play off contenders. Rochdale – Hard to know what to expect given the influence Hill and Flitcroft had over the club. They are City's new feeder club though so should be able to grab enough loanees to keep them well out of trouble. Top half possibles. Scunthorpe – Yo-yo club but don't look to have a Hooper/Sharp in their ranks this time to get them enough goals to challenge at the top. Top half but only play off possibles. Sheff U – Rate the gaffer highly but he's got a real job on here. Some promising youth players but hard to see where the goals are coming from. Only top half. Sheff Wed – Is there a less inspiring manager in the Football League? Got nowhere near promotion last time and think it will be same story this time. Bottom half possibles. Stevenage - Manager seems to antagonise everyone he comes across but his teams seem to buy into it. Will be a horrible, nasty side to play against and can see them surviving quite easily. Mid table. Tranmere – Arguably best two players have left. Devaney could be an interesting purchase but manager living in cuckoo land if he honestly thinks they can challenge for play offs. Relegation candidates. Walsall – Stayed up last time when looking doomed at one point. Hard to see anything different this time though. Relegation candidates Wycombe – Yo-yo club, hard to see anything but another battle with the drop. Gaffer could make the difference though. Flirting with relagation, but safe. Yeovil – Plenty of coming and goings, manager does seem to have the knack of picking up good loans players so should be more comfortable this time round. Mid table. As for us.. Worried about the age, strength in depth and lack of goals in the squad but other than that it's all rosy! Can see us flirting with the relegation places but steering clear in the end, especially if our new mate Fergie can keep lending us a few players!
  9. He'll be gone by Friday, I'd bet one of his International caps on it
  10. It's an International weekend so Sky show League 1 and 2 matches, the live Tranmere game was so action packed they obviously couldn't wait to come back!
  11. Think Rochdale will become exactly that over the next few years.
  12. A certain Paul Dickov had a terrific game against us for Arsenal in a Coca Cola Cup tie at Highbury, think it was in 1993 or 94.
  13. In my opinion, yes. Think he benefitted from playing alongside Gregan a lot of the time.
  14. Agree that he didn't show his best form second time around but IMO a lot of that was down to playing alongside the truly awful Hazell, if he'd played with M'Voto more then I think he might have been signing for us permanently this summer rather than Rochdale. As for Tarkowski playing in front of him I reckon that have had more to do with appearance money rather than ability.
  15. Think I'd prefer it if we signed Junior Bent to be honest.
  16. First saw him when he beat Tommy Peacock at Oldham Sports Centre and had some great nights at the MEN watching him, especially the Eamonn McGee and Kostya Tszyu fights.
  17. Must be dizzy coinage, especially if Vaughan is involved Surprised Hamann has got involved to be honest.
  18. Doubt we could afford the bubblewrap at the moment!
  19. Still have a feeling there might be some mileage in the McDonald one. Looking at some of the other clubs that were linked with him they've either signed other strikers or in Charlton's case have surely now either spent or near enough spent their budget.
  20. Might well have played some games there for Man Ure reserves, but how long ago was that? Just think we've got enough problems at the moment without moving one of our best remaining players from the position where he's been settled and playing in.
  21. Dario Gradi expecting Donaldson to sign for Chesterfield http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/crewe_alexandra/9525899.stm
  22. Lee is a right back and a decent one at that, don't know where this idea comes from that he should play central midfield. Winchester too slow and lightweight to be playing in there IMO, we need someone with some height and stamina to go alongside Furman.
  23. I agree, too early to be thinking about accas but I think the worse price out of all four leagues is Middlesborough with Charlton not too far behind.
