  1. To be fair isn't that the 4th strike partner (JCH, Philly, Baxter and McDonald) he's played with this season and we're only 8 games in? It'll come just give the lad time!
  2. Really???? Can't see how our defence hasn't played well. Both errors from silly mistakes my midfielder but other than that we've been pretty solid. Better than last season!!!!
  3. Baxter will get a slice of the signing on fee...to sign a deal with us when he did means it was attractive to do so. So say us selling at £300,000 and he takes 50% so that is the £150,000 to us.
  4. Not interested in Doncaster/Dickov or any ex players....
  5. Young oldham team with obviously not many 1st in it after last nights match. A fair few experienced Burnley players on show I believe. Not a big deal!
  6. Click the unfollow button it's simple!
  7. Yeh your right in the NIMBYS doing everything in their power to stop it...thats why it would be good for it to happen ha ha! To be fair I haven't been to the new Chesterfield stadium of Falkirks are they close to housing or in industrial type estates? Sound complantes would be a massive issue for the group mentioned above. Sounds silly but things like electrical power would be a stumbling block I would think. I know we currently run floodlights etc but the power sound systems and lighting pull for big stadium events/concerts is huge. Generators are an option around this but they are very expensive and places like Heaton Park when they have events run off them but they can have 70,000 people at an event to the income allows it. There is nothing to say that when the new stadium is built this isn't in the plans and I would hope it is so not restrict its use. New stadiums such as Chesterfield and Falkirk (2004 it opened i think) will have had all this put in when the new electrics had been added and the cost would be less that way than us adding power from my experience. Just a few thoughts but all things are possible if enough parties can work together to make it happen.
  8. Thats a new stadium so will have been built with the infrastructure in place to make it work if it was in the business plan from day 1. I would love it if they could pull it off and make it attractive as it could bring some good income I just can't see it.
  9. I work in events/concerts and promotion etc and although its a nice idea BP just isn't big enough to make it a viable option for a promoter to book it for a stadium gigs/tours. Stadium gigs take a lot of room and by the time you add the large costs surrounded with stadium shows you wouldn't get enough people into the place to break even. Agree family events/fun days etc may work but they don't generate lots of income.
  10. He'll go to a bigger club but fear he may be a squad player rather than a regular at a higher level. He certainly isn't premier league quality but if someone comes in from the premier he'd be daft not to make the move!
  11. I think it's clear that Dickov and Taggart had no interest in developing the kids... Since LJ has come in he has invested in them and give them a chance. Dickov would not have visited Mellor and his Mrs at home to help him with his diet and eating habits and the resuly is a 6K weight reduction. Not in a million years would we have seen Mellor and Millar playing this season if Dickov was here and he wouldn't have renewed contracts. I do know as fact that Dickov would often not even acknowledge the younger fringe players when even walking passed them in the corridor so this alone shows he wasn't fussed. Keep all the young fringe players mentioned for me Their not on loads of money and let's see what a good pre season and good man management with confidence in them as individuals can do!
  12. Think that's why he's captain as he ain't afraid to get stuck in and go nose to nose with players when needed!
  13. Most new managers into roles part way threw the season state this as being an issue. Some are correct and some do it to buy themselves a bit more time to get settled into the role. Heard a manager talk about this once and this is what he said from experience!
  14. The club paid for it last season for Dickov....he worked it into his playing budget for the season so manager wouldn't have to pay!
  15. Was watching the coaching set up last night and was really impressed with Cliff Bryne and the experience he added talking to the back line. I sit in the main stand lower so able to hear everything. I have noticed him there before but not paid much attention... This fella makes Gerry Taggart look like even more of a joker as he was the defensive coach. He was constantly talking and encouraging the back line and making sure they constantly focused and remained switched on to the task in hand. Defiantly helps him being a sub and running up and down the line as if warming up ha ha. Think he may be one that LJ keeps hold of in that role.
  16. He'll play the same 11 I think with the exception of Kory Smith coming in for someone.
