  1. with respect Midsblue, there MUST be something afoot given that we have heard nothing for weeks, no rumours AT ALL of anyone being in the know as regards any other candidate, added to the fact that from being far out at 12/1 from nowhere he should suddenly shoot to 1/1 with his current employers who then suspend betting on it and be the fave at 4/5 with VC?? Can't all be wrong and it's in Sky's interests to maintain the betting so as to get £ from people, so it must be sorted and if anyone would know its them. There is also a post from someone on the e-zine site alluding to the fact that our new manager will have some input with our next match, being criptic as well saying 'the worm has turned.....and our new manager will have some input too...ooooh' All seems to amount to the same thing at the same time which can't all be purely guesswork. Something must have or be changing in their discussions which has changed things. I know for certain from a source that he was and is the only one offered the job and that he wants it and nothing since then aside from TP being allowed to run the team til things were sorted out. .......... Hmm..................
  2. just gone to 4/5 from 3 with VC.......
  3. if thats the case then bit odd that all other markets are showing on the manager page??? And to out of nowhere go 1/1 then taken off.....???
  4. sky have pulled the latics betting!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.skybet.com/football/specials/manager-specials welcome home Iain!!
  5. to go 1/1 from 12/1 suggests sky know something more concrete - if £50k from furman adds more for dowie then win win!
  6. slag SC for letting players go for free 'we should have sold him in January' - clubs aint gonna buy a player who they can get for free 6 months later...... Furman is sloppy as a DM and has no attacking instincts, very average player, likely to be a squad player at best. Wes is a far better player and far more committed - Furman is like Simpson talks the talk on interviews and twitter but when it comes down to it never delievers. Don't care whether told to defend as a midfielder by managers or not - it's your job to get up and down the pitch as a CM - don't recall Milligan, Henry or even Allott not crossing the halfway line, they all defended and got forward - he does neither and can't pass to save his life. Take the £50k or whatever we get, better than nowt. For the record i don't think he will do better at a higher level, he is at his max in league 1. Thinks he's the big guy now he's played for SA at the ACON, when in reality he is no one - had it been Baxter who actually posesses ability fair enough. See ya Dean - Murray, Wes, Winchester, Baxter, Mellor can all do as good a job as Defensive Dean. Bye
  7. TP til end of season, then Dowie in in the summer assuming we have stayed up. Midsblue quotes ID as saying he isn't coming - maybe that is true in light of this season, but the fact that no one else has been interviewed for the role (all this 'i've spoken to one or two people' is smoke and mirrors) and he nor ID have not denied that any 'deal' is dead suggests all being well, ID will come in,
  8. don't know if i was clear on the last post. The new stand will have corporate boxes, gym etc and Marketing offices (broady etc) The changing rooms, boardroom etc stay as now i.e. the main stand stays as the 'main' stand in terms of where the players and directors go.
  9. All offices/changing rooms are staying there as normal, except the marketing department is moving to the new stand which does make sense given the corporate areas are over there. I assume the main stand will be renovated as and when it is feasibly possible followed by the Chaddy, RRE will stay as is for a long while yet i'd bet Although for the above you are probably looking at within the next 10-20 years............
  10. i highly doubt that the gym is for only the players - 2 hours a day useage? people can use it on a saturday before a big game, get themselves pumped up, literally! If you look at the plans there is also areas to the left and right of the stand for expansion for more offices and for a hotel on the other side nearest the rocky road All in all it all looks promising and our location/land means things can be added on as and when at shouldnt cause too much hassle ie a small scale hotel in the corners etc similar to the old plans just hope we get the go ahead We don't know the size of the supporters bar as yet and again on that side space has been left for expansion. As long as it is never typical latics with us running out of beer, it'll do!
  11. shhh you'll get slaughtered on here for speaking the truth and daring to state that our 'international captain' actually isn't very good............... The sooner Furman buggers off the better - Wes does his job as a defensive midfielder, i'm assuming Furman is told to attack but he chooses not to because mr sideways simply can't as he too is a defensive midfielder and has the mentality of one. Wes and an attacking mid next season, thank god! Furman championship? Pigs can fly.........................
  12. shame he'll be gone in the summer - had a great season and looks and plays the part now, rarely puts in too many errors as previous. Need to build the team around him, Tarky, Brown, Grounds, Wes, Baxter, Montano, Croft, Smith - sadly think Mvoto along with others will be off and so the cycle goes again and we being with a new set of players. Gets harder to identify with a team and 'feel' that it's Oldham - play well here, then bugger off seems to be the process be it moving on for £ or on a free, sad times All the more reason to get Dowie in, someone with passion who can convince Jean and the other to stay and move us forward
  13. Here Here 100% agree - IF he wants to manage again then agree with you Dowie is the one for us out of the dross on offer, only other one is Phil Brown but i have my doubts as to what he could actually give us; at least we know Dowie has pretty good tactics, work ethic and a positive attitude to games and that fits our club. However, assuming things have stalled due to wages not being agreeable, if, for instance, Dowie is on lets say 150k a year and we can only offer 70k, i don't think even the most willing managers would accept that - there is one thing wanting to get back managing and joinging us; which I am sure Dowie is keen on, but when all said and done anyone with a family and who has become accustomed to functioning on a certain level of income, it is a massive hit and change in lifestylr for him to acknowledge and be willing to do - can't blame him if that's the case. Don't envy SC one bit - Dowie is the man but aside from him i honestly could not pick a manager out of who is available be it experience or rookie who ticks most if not all of the boxes to take us forward..........................
  14. Let THEM worry about US - and after last week and their result yesterday they won't be wanting to face us that's for sure. Smith to start i think in place of CI with Wes in for Furman SICK of this Dickov-esque plan of 4-4-1-1 'with Furman license to go forward' - the guy has played like that for the past 3 years with us and once every 6 months he gets forward - he HARDLY EVER gets forward as he is (and has the mentality of) a DM, which Wes is better at, so yes shock horror 'you-cant-drop-the=captain' Furman on the bench. Baxter has had no problems attacking and tracking back defening, he has done both really well and Barnard is the ideal little shietser to be in and around Smith in the box - half a yard and he will nick a goal; rather than Smith isolated play 4-4-1-1 and we will get overrun, purely because we will sit deep like we always did with that formation and Smith will have to hold onto it for ages for support to arrive, it wont and we will lose it time and again. TP changed to simple 4-4-2 for a reason - we are :censored: with 4-4-1-1 and the players know how to do 4-4-2 stop over-tacticalising (word?!) and stick to what we know best and has worked great these past 3 weeks. 4-4-2 Bouzy Brown,Tarky.mvoto,Grounds Croft.Wes.Baxter, Obita Smith,Barnard
  15. LP said he ran off the pitch so didn't think he was injured - more likely Wes felt a slight twinge and with Everton in mind came off immediately. Give it a week and he'll be fine for the big one
  16. dowie deal very unlikely now from feedback i've received personally speaking, maybe Mr C is out in the US trying to tempt investors on the back of Liverpool etc in order to aid the fund to gwt Dowie back be it salary or wage budgets etc? Either way as it stands it seems Dowie is quite happy talking crap to a camera rather than truly getting back into management. Surely he has built up enough reserves cash wise in order to offset a cut in salary - unless its a dramatic drop then i would have thought he'd be bang up for it? OK with the idea of TP getting it til June, but beyond that it'd be harsh to then have to part ways with him if it came to it, unless they said 'it's not workig go back to the youths'? guess it'll be another month before we hear something............TP til June is fine but beyond that - who would we really want in charge assuming we stay up???? (aside from dowie) Tough Tough call
  17. you never know, TP may have been acting on instructions from whoever is coming in
  18. not if TP is helping out if he comes in, he trusts TP from last time with him being his assistant, no need to be there
  19. lo and behold, matt chambers According to Matt Chambers Dowie has an offer on the table which he is considering. Sammy Lee is not on the radar and no other interviews are planned at this stage Bookies mean :censored: all - sure, Lee may well have applied which someone has then got wind of, bet on it and zooop up to the top of the 50 or so bets already-placed market it goes, utter :censored:e lets see what happens but if nothing is agreed then thats life and we get who we get.
  20. sammy lee stuff is all bollocks, in this case, FACT.....
  21. from what i am hearing, this is true and it is still possible.....................we shall see
  22. who would want it? All those managers out of work Davies for me, 2nd Dowie or Phil Brown. The only one who wouldn't want it is Adkins The Liverpool game will have put us out there to prospective bosses. The unemployed ala Davies etc WILL want the job as they are OUT OF WORK simple really..............
  23. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20130203-dickovgone-636161.aspx
  24. HOW MANY TIMES??!!............................ He APPLIED for the HARTLEPOOL job and it was his until they wouldn't let him bring his own coaches in, the same reason he was sacked at Preston. You don't apply for jobs like Hartlepool if you don;t want to work, want a challenge and have a point to prove - you think we've got :censored: all budget (12th best according to SC) then you want to look at Hartlepool's budget! He is best mates with Rick Holden - all these people saying 'not phil brown' - soon change ya tune if the god came as number 2 wouldn't ya..... Jesus wept
