  1. I'll start it off, the first one's in already! http://www.football365.com/league-one/9288176/-
  2. whatever we get for MR, offer St Mirren £100k for Harkins - worth every (Dave) penney. Ironic thing is he is not a winger yet he has a little pace to suddenly bamboozle players, would prefer him central and Dayton out left as that is his position, but Harkins offers that unpredictability to go other side and has the bit more time on the ball than he wold maybe get in the middle where it is congested Harkins and Wes massive priorities, Grounds good but lets his good bits down with his passing, invariably very poor, but defensively very solid All depends on Harkins i think - if we sign him then it encourages others as well
  3. Neil Adams http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26916661 Good luck Neil, before my time and only have videos and his spell in the team under AR (still put in some great balls even if his pace had gone) to go off, but a latics great nonetheless MOTD should be interesting anyway!
  4. Should this transpire then even if what you say re the proceeds is what happens, it's less of a burden on the club for the longer term, so anything that comes of it would be a good thing, team building or otherwise
  5. lo and behold, Korey tries a shot and.........oh look...........a goal you have to buy a ticket to win the raffle lads shoot on site!! Sounds like it should have been more as well, and they kept going all the way 5 points from the last 9 keep chipping away and picking up points we'll be ok Lets go give Brentford a game now, no pressure lets lose 3-0 having a go if we have to!
  6. Kieran Lee was the creative midfielder we were missing since Wellens Had we played him there in PD's first season we may well have maintained our early playoff position until it fell away in Feb that season Amazing how the guys with 'coaching badges# couldn't see he was clearly a central midfielder And the best CM of the lot never even played him until he had to! But what do we know...................
  7. Not sure on the rules with this, but could someone possibly be able to upload a copy of the Gary Kelly interview featured in today's programme? Didn't manage to get to the game, would be interested to read it Thanks in advance
  8. sssh - it was nothing to do with the service he received (or lack of)...................... The fact that our strikers have barely a goal between them since he left says it all Total lack of forward runners throughout the team and people simply getting half a yard a firing a ball across, Harkins possibly the exception. Tell me the logic for hitting a high ball up to a 5ft 7in Striker as well...............do players actually have a brain??
  9. :censored: game, goal aside and the 2 Stead chances nothing from us attacking wise our midfielders just do not move forward off the ball anywhere like enough and we never have anyone busting a gut to get in their box It never was the strikers we had that was an issue, it is the lack of midfield mobility - both Winchester and Wes stood in a line back in our own half whilst Stead holds the ball up, only Worrall making any sort of off the ball forward run and therefore we lost the ball time and again. That's not me saying Wes and CW are bad players, it is just their in-game play which does not follow logic. OK so Wes is the DM; if i'm Winchester and see that Stead has the ball and is looking to play someone in, i'll think 'i need to make a run here and get up to support him' - clearly they are either told to sit back and not run beyond the ball or footballers cannot think for themselves on the pitch and adapt to the play that occurs. We do not and have not done enough in games AS A UNIT to score goals and hat needs to change next season - Smith gets forward but nowhere near as much as he should and with no real intent as in he is going forward looking to get on the end of a pull back from the wingers or smash one in from a loose ball............................ Anyway Oxley best game this season - FINALLY he came for 3 crosses and did his usual good shot stopping - ok he lost us 1 point last week with his shocking save but won us 2 more today so i'll let him off! You CAN do it Mark - KEEP claiming those crosses!!
  10. he said before he joined Watford again recently that he had offers in the north but wants to stay down south as he is a Londoner, so no
  11. 13 points from top 6 - I know i've said it a few times and as always things need to go for us injuries etc but 6 points from MK and 4 from the other 2 would put us right in the mix surely.......... May as well aim for it at the very least, something to play for which although is a way off, is not impossible
  12. Not gone today, opted for the Wolves game instead!! The win should give the lads great belief, bet they want to play again tomorrow now. But as others have said including me - GET MIDFIELDERS IN THE FECKING BOX and we will score goals!! Not been enough desire from the whole team all season to get the ball in that net - it has never been the problem that the strikers weren't scoring - ok they missed their fair share of sitters, but the other 8 had about 9 goals between them. Finally they get in there, low and behold we get the rewards. Well done all!
  13. i always get the impression with us that regarding any offers, If a player gets wind of an offer i appreciate it is hard to keep someone who wants to leave and has had his head turned; however instead of the club always thinking 'does the player want to go?' as soon as an offer comes in, it should be more along the lines of 'i'm sorry, you can go but not unless someone pays x' - end of I may be wrong with the above and no doubt agents stir things up all the time, but that is just the impression i get from our dealings down the years. Aside from selling the youth players for good fees and Trotman for £500k, we always appear, in my opinion, to bow down to anyone offering a basic fee. e.g. £100k. I appreciate that we cannot afford to dismiss bids at first glance as we always need funds as a club; however the fact that the untried youth players i.e. Eaves and Spencer went for £300k and £200k (reportedly) and Trotman after 10 or so games for £500k makes it all the more gutting that we as a club (reportedly according to MENOAFC and the Lancashire Telegraph) only value Tarky at £300k Compare him to other 'big prospects' in our league eg Maguire at Sheff Utd and Tarky is by far the more natural technical footballer and he is talked up at £2-4m Now he isn't worth that and again that's all paper talk, but to me Tarky at the moment is worth £700k - better than Trotman, more experience and potential and i'd say that's about right. For me £700k + £100k if promoted to the prem (if it is Burnley) + 25% sell on clause - not offering that then don't even bother. I have no problem with, and agree with the view that whatever we get for him e.g. £300k gets us money in the door and if that then goes towards 4 players to improve the overall squad then as we have done down the years, that's absolutely fine and the right thing to do. I have no problem with him going as i'm sure the rest of realistic fans don't - we all simply want to see our club get the going rate for players as happens at other clubs e.g. Crewe selling Murphy to Leeds for £1m after 30 games, young lad, Maynard after one season wonder for £2.25m and a bad injury record - 'It's Crewe' - so what? I'm not in anyway expecting those sorts of figures, but they always seem to get fair whack in transfer fees. I hate to see us cowtowing to bids at low values and in my opinion, if what is being reported is correct, we are doing just that at £300k - but again if we need the funds urgently for whatever need then I guess the club's hand is forced whatever the bid. As SC has said though, there are always things going on etc that we never get made aware of, but all we as fans can do is go off what we are allegedly told be it roumours or whatever and for me Tarky is worth at least double £300k
  14. Joe Royle to lend his expertise on the training ground a couple of days a week working on wing and striking play would be a start Would do no harm at all, after all he signed Genseric for us
  15. A good dick to have in the squad though............
  16. i'm sorry i don't buy this talk from many posters that 'all we lack is that poacher' Why it the answer always to get in ANOTHER striker? We have 4 good strikers who will all (and have) scored goals, C Mac tonight nipped in but was/wasnt offside....poaching For me as has been the issue in recent years we do too much arty farty build up play with the odd goal and not enough on pass-edge of box-shot-goal like Mantom tonight Rest of the team need to be far more aggressive and forward thinking, on set pieces as well Not enough being done all round to score goals and get on the end of things and make it a goal - where is the surging ala Gary Mac runs from Korey backing up the front players?? Come on LJ, its in there somewhere
  17. and when it aint going right it aint going right......Rooney's confidence must be shot after that, it's just not happening for him is it? but yet he is a decent striker.....hmmm
  18. Invariably our problem has been the bloke that people seem to 'rate' in between the goal posts in keeping c.2? clean sheets all season i'll take 3 or 4 1-0 wins, same number of points last time i looked and goals can also be scored from other players, ala Wes In fact, it's nigh time we got a few ugly 1-0 wins
  19. Sorry in advance to those who are looking down the table rather than up, but we have three massive ganes coming up which will decide whether we are in for a push at the top 6 come the end of the season. We are only 12 points off 6th and we have everyone now fit and Worrall to come into the team, we should certainly be able to or aim get on that 'run' of 3-4 straight wins that are needed if we are to challenge Next 3 games are Walsall A Port Vale A Peterborough H These 3 teams are all in and around the top 10 I KNOW it's easier said than done, but IMO we have enough to get 7/9 or 9/9 from these games, certainly Pboro aren't all that as results recently have proved. Should /\ materialise then that puts us on 34/35 points still with a game in and against MK Dongs at home, and takes the 'pressure' off needing a result against Wolves the following Tuesday. With Rotherham to then play at Home next month, it would really set it up for an interesting last couple of months. This team has the abiility, we now need to show what we are made of and go get those wins. LET'S BE POSITIVE!! Blackpool have done it before from nowhere, and we aren't THAT far away. COYB
  20. We have one of those but LJ has sent him out on loan having never given him a proper run in the team Like he has with Millar, ever think to try Sidney as a striker or attacking midfielder where his tendancy to not defend can be accommodated.......?
  21. please can he be pushed on 'why' it hasn't worked out with Sidney? why isn't he or has he been given the time to learn the english game and adapt to it given his undoubted skill and pace, surely he is an asset worth developing??? Thanks
  22. winchester not good enough for midfield, brings nothing to it, best at RB similar type player to Brown Mellor is closest physically to Wes and we need that in there, did OK at Sheff U, needs games there and the manager to believe in him, give him games and time t make mistakes/learn otherwise he never will. Can also drive forward with it when he believes in himself, has a decent pass on him and can shoot. Mellor and Smith CM but otherwise agree Just no injuries to Kusunga/Smith/JCH/Dayton before sunday PLEEEEASE!
