  1. rumour over on the trannies cowsheds is their main target (According to two people) has had a call from another north west club who are offering him 2ys as opposed to one... quote 'is he about to do an ITM on us in the opposite direction.........' The player is Ryan Lowe Any takers??
  2. need 2 GK 2 CB we will likely have Winchester as RB cover for Brown (he did fine towards the end of last season don't think he is too bad a player did nothing horrifically wrong) Truelove will cover as a LB Sutherland and Schmeltz RW, LW sorted, CM sorted up top we need 2 more in my eyes - Baxter, Clarke-Harris, ? and ? (if Millar signs will he REALLY be able to be called upon as a striker?) so leaves us with: GK: ? / ? / Simpson RB: Brown/Winchester CB: ? / ? / Tarky/Belezika/Cooper (assume Byrne will be gone) LB: Grounds / Truelove RM: Schmeltz / Sutherland CM: Wes / Smith CM: Mellor / Gossett LM: Montano / Dayton ST: Baxter / Clarke-Harris ST: ? ? Hope we can sign Matt Green from Mansfield think he would bag quite a few in that team
  3. if the guy brings back 'our' badge, he'll be fine by me
  4. 'proven striker, need to wait on this one' i reckon this guy could be a target http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/22879239 Not too shabby a record on wikipedia, make the step up and with the right players around him could bag 10-15 for us. certainly looked decent from what i saw in their fa cup games right place, right time in this vid, looks to have the build and a bit of pace could do worse 25 goals in any season in any league is a decent record
  5. jon stones for a season loan.....? 6ft odd centre back had rave reviews at barnsley in their first team before moyes signed him for £2m i think recently..........
  6. i didn't mean you personally I meant other posters' views have included this figure. if we're going off the Eaves example £300k then yes you could be correct, would be lovely in an ideal world to get that much!
  7. haha i love this board sometimes, makes me laugh so a rookie keeper not playing more than 30mins in the first team is worth £350k yet Baxter who is a class above can only fetch £250k MAX in some people's eyes......................... £30k if we're lucky
  8. Again people misconstruing what LJ is saying Promotion is the AIM that's not the expectation of what we will achieve, it is simply the club striving for it. Yeovil proved that with a small squad of 18 relaitvely unknown names and players, that they could do it and they did. That does not mean LJ thinks it is going to happen or expects it to nor do the fans, but it is the TARGET in an ideal world. I TOTALLY agree with his mindset - sick of AIMING for these top-half finishes, top-ten finishes - where is the fun/ambition in that? Sure we may well end up there given the realities of budgets and squad size but may as well mentally focus on trying to aim for promotion rather tha giving players an automatic mental ease-off immediately by saying 'we want to stay up' As LJ said its about time the ambitions of everyone in the club changed and that includes the fans, if no one strives for something seemngly above their station, they will never achieve it We may as well try....
  9. £1m fee + £500k after x appearances + 25% sell on - about time we got a proper - and I mean 'proper' fee for a genuine talent When i read stories of Will Hughes, 18, at Derby playing about 30 games and as talented as he is, 'Newcastle are ready to pay £10m for his services' - and then I read some of our lot happy with £400-800k, it makes me weep. £400-800k in relaity gets us nowhere. With £1m (and in talent and potential wise vs the fees that players like Powell, Maynard etc have gone for after 1 season wonders, he is worth it) we can use £800k to help with running costs etc and £100k or so to add 2 or 3 quality players rather than simply see it be swallowed up altogether.
  10. i don't mind it but the designers have clearly got their colours wrong the computer generated badge gives the impression that the blue fades from royal blue to a light blue they have been unable to recreate this in the real fabric and we therefore have a badge with navy/black ridges and light blue top just doesn't look right why it couldn't just be the dark royal blue colour as is our new kit i do not know, would've looked ok then.
  11. you're getting confused with Penney there...........
  12. If we sign anyone from Ramsay Street it has to be the veteran Karl Kennedy Latics' can have its own KK Klan
  13. also says on their forum after the above quoted post, by the same poster '100% happening, from the horses mouth' if he is the central midfielder then it really is sounding promising - players with age on their side and what was lacking last season - the attitude to go with their ability. Liking LJ more every day, gets on with the job, seems like a planner, do-er and always thinking a step ahead rather than hanging on. We now have ASSETS on the pitch worth giving 2yr deals to ala Baxter If this guy is a CM then seems a god'en a quote from them 'even having a bad game he could always change a game with a defense splitting pass' KTF
  14. looks like a slimmer, left footed lee croft IF we can get Crofty to sign then in terms of attacking threat i'd say Baxter, Montano, Dayton and Croft would be the best 4 attacking threats in the league, all have pace and technical skill Certainly say Croft and Dayton would be up there as the best 2 wingers next season in terms of a left and right pairing
  15. just the sort of player we could do with - always liked him, ok he missed a few, but he has the pace power and work rate to cause havoc and chances for others Better player than Matt Smith and as much as Smith is a good option to have, he lacks the pace and control to make it higher up in my opinion, as has been said take away the tv cameras and he is released without much noise. If you want to play your team around a big guy and run off him then smith is useful but LJ plays a fast-paced game and Smith wouldn't have been a starter in any case i dont think next season. Good luck Tonk
  16. £500k now, another good season and you're looking easily £1m+ - he has the class now and is only getting better. one-season wonders like maynard and powell at crewe went for minimum £1m after doing next to nothing About time we got real value for money and not settling for bare minimum - sure any money we make on him is a welcome profit but lets have it right for a change. Point is, we now actually have a couple of assets in baxter, C-H, Dayton and Mellor potentially.
  17. All this 'too old' talk is just tosh if you're good enough then age is irrelevant. I'm sure he will still have a decent level of fitness and if we have young lads around him doing the running, get JC in the box as that's where it counts. Giggs is 40, Eyresie and Shez were 42 and 35 when they quit and were still a class above for us even then. Dayton, Montano, Mellor, Baxter, Croft, C-H, Cureton, Gros, Mvoto - Assuming these stay and/or do sign then that's a functioning and dynamic base. Don't you just love rumours.........................
  18. of course we can - a few established players and the rest 19-23yr olds who have a point to prove, want to play under LJ and do a yeovil on not a lot wages-wise. A lot of you will be suprised where certain 'names' end up - the big bucks just aint out there anymore aside from maybe the championship - hundreds of players released who if they want to play professionally will have to accept lesser wages we will get a number of decent players in purely because they will have little choice wage-wise. KTF
  19. likely james dayton twitter: james dayton ‏@jamesdayton10 19h I've met some friends for life at the club and a massive thank you to all the killie for your support james dayton ‏@jamesdayton10 Sad to say good-bye to rugby park today, I've had a fantastic 3 years. Can't thank the club enough for the opportunity they gave me Left winger: if we can sign crofty for RW and keep Mvoto then i think Mvoto, Crofty, Montano, Wes, Dayton, Baxter, C-H is a good base, add in grounds at LB not too bad
  20. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2326229/Paul-Dickov-set-named-new-Doncaster-manager-Monday.html suprised if true, only it says Brian Horton as assistant.....
  21. I have sent SC an email outlining in polite and eloquent terms to the benefits of building on our cup run in business terms and in appointing Dowie as Manager. Above all, I simply asked him to come out and outline his and the boards' plans for the foreseeable so as to put all parties concerned at ease and know where we stand, be it selling up, whatever. I won't hold my breath although he is a decent bloke so i'll wait and see on a response.
  22. Thanks for all the info Midsblue and setting things clear - my thughts exactly - if he is committed to at least seeing the stand through and trying to get us going someway upwards then why the hell only offer a manager of Dowie's ability, passion and bond with the fans 10 weeks, and also who wants to build something long term??? I don't blame Dowie one bit for not signing in that case - maybe today has sealed it for Corney and he may well come back with 2 years offer I know one thing - the club is worth far more as a league one club than Corney trying to bail out and sell us as a league 2 side. The whole thing is just so illogical its scary
  23. Phil Brown or Dowie it is then, and I hinted a bit of something in TP's chuckle when he said if he would be in charge for Tuesday. Billy Urmson as good a source as any and makes sense re the end of the betting all of a sudden. Even if Midsblue has spoken to Dowie, is Dowie really gonna say to a fan 'yep im talking and all but agreed a deal and awaiting Sky clearance' etc? - he'd keep quiet and rightly so. Its none of his business and when its done he would hear it all done by being annonced officially. Plus, if the betting had changed last week because a fan puts a fiver on, it wouldn't have the effect of making the odds suddenly go from 12/1 to 8/13 in some cases, they would shorten to 3 or 4/1. Either way all very strange, illogical and stupid at the same time with this whol cherade, only at Latics though eh....
  24. Iain Dowie wants paying between now and the end of the season to take the job, :censored:ING PAY IT HIM!!! FACT - will cost us minimum £500k in lost league fees alone if we go down and that doesn't even start with the season tickets not sold and general crowds. Pay Dowie £50k til June to keep us up and give him 2 years thereafter. As a rough guess at £50k now til June vs £500k + for going down??? Corney i have always thought you knew what you were doing, but you are showing yourself to be a :censored:ing idiot as the weeks go by.
