  1. Was going to buy it, think i'll pass now, just not the shade of blue that imo is the club colours. Might seem ridiculous but it's the way i feel on it. I'm going to buy this seasons shirt (More cause i want the final shirt we will have with the old club badge) and just use the rest of what i would of paid for a new shirt on bits and bats in the club shop.
  2. I'm a bit baffled as to how MacDonald hasn't been sent down too? Surely there both as guilty?
  3. I think it all depends on the angle you see it from. The ball definitely took a bobble before he kicked it but he should have passed before the bobble. Just one of them i suppose. Stupid for the booing though i guess a large part of it was just a frustration with the team as a whole. The game was poor really, especially the first half in which neither side looked like scoring. Second half though we were the only team that looked to try and win it and on that basis and with the goal we scored should have sealed a comfortable victory. As usual with Latics this season however we somehow contrive to let the opposition back in. All in all a point that point sees us safe. Us being safe was something that was never really a massive worry for me, despite the potential for a monumental :censored: up that would see us relegated, i felt we would do enough to see us home. Bet the doom and gloom brigade are gutted, know a few people that go that won't have sweet :censored: all to say now were safe as they have nothing to now whinge about. Don't get me wrong i won't think bad of people that have decent points to make about how :censored:/poor we are but when that becomes an extension of just having a good whinge then i wish they wouldn't!
  4. Being the sucker that i am, i'd invest in the club somehow. I don't think i'd like to take full control but invest and take a stake in the club. I'd provide money to re-develop the ground and not do it on the cheap. I'd also do a reduced price season ticket for a couple of seasons, not by a crazy amount but enough so if or when the ST prices went back up to a dearer price the jump wouldn't be significant enough so people would not renew as they are hooked again (hopefully by then the club would be in a higher league! ha so a higher price would make no matter). I'd also pay off the personal debt to Blitz et al. and get that out of the way so the club is truly debt free and just paying running costs, which will hopefully be supplemented to some degree by all the non-football ventures/business in the re-developed stands. I'd like to think this is somewhat affordable with the money won but if it isn't i'd hope to have some impact with it. Come to think of it I'd firstly sort family and some friends out first, put 10 Million aside for myself and just spend the rest in such ways as the above. I'd also like to spend some money on the rugby too, give them money to build a ground or at least to part fund a new one and get them in the Super League
  5. Probably is due to other circumstances. It was only the other day there was a thread on here saying their local rag had stopped coverage and they seemed to take some digs at Bradbury, as well as the club, in the statement they released on the situation.
  6. Harry, Here's a video for you to keep you going in case you find the wait for the next time he does his swan dive too long to take! All credit to my mate for actually keeping his mobile fairly stable under the circumstances ha
  7. Ah nuts, im a PS3 guy myself, i barely use my Xbox now unless an exclusive for it comes out like Gears or Fable. I don't actually mind MW3 but then again i don't interact really with anyone. I'd rather do my own thing which is probably missing the point of playing online. In fact it's probably why i didn't enjoy B3 as much as it does seem more sqaud based and communication is obviously vital on the massive maps. Just eagerly awaiting Mass Effect 3 now and I'll kiss my socail life goodbye for a couple of weekends!
  8. No problem, I'll probably come in at some point today then and get them booked rather than chancing it, cheers for the info!
  9. What do you play on? I played it online a bit when i originally bought it. I was in two minds about it really, thought it was cool that you could get in vehicles and stuff and that but there was too many times when i felt too far away from the combat and others for me to get really into it. It's wierd though because i bought MW3 and after playing that for a while I couldn't be arsed getting into that either so it might just be me as i normally enjoy online shooters.
  10. Ah okay ta pal, we'll definitely have that! What time do you open? Are we okay paying you on the day?
  11. I may be being blind and can't find the threads anywhere but in an effort to find out asap, is there a booze bus going from the rifle/junction for the game? If so are there any places left? looking for one for me and my mate. Let us know how we can book and what travel detials there is, if any, oh and price! Cheers
  12. Ah right fair enough. Suppose it doesn't matter where you go as long as you can get trollied ha
  13. Have you considered going abroad? One of my best mates is soon to be married and for his stag do we are going Budapest. When looking at potential things and places to go, him and the best man reckons the cost would be similar to a couple of nights or weekend away somewhere back home so we thought we might as well! It's just something a bit different really. The cost was about 160 quid for the flights and 50 quid for a room for three nights. Obviously this is barring the extra costs of food and drink (plus strippers/hookers delete as applicable haha) but the beer looks decently priced, certainly cheaper than home!
  14. I don't think this warranted a pre annonucement. I knew I shouldn't have built my hopes up, more fool me!
  15. Surely it can't be anything other than a new stand being built/new investment? At a push it's Dickov getting a new contract. Nothing else can warrant the dramatic wording used in the article other than club trolling us only to reveal something minor. I'd like to think it's the former but then again this is Latics so could be the latter! Trying not to get my hopes up........
  16. What a :censored: he is! It shows the kind of mindset he's got that he considers this lack of games a missed chance to get some players sold rather than a boring lull. Yes we are what is now probably considered a 'selling' club and need to sell players in order to survive but it's not the be all and end all of why we play football in the first fecking place and go to watch. Knowing that people from the club read this message board, could you please tell Mike to get himself off the training ground and try securing some investment instead? Considering we assume that's what he was brought here to do rather than re-enact a football managers sim. Maybe then when we have no games we won't have to worry so much about 'selling' players. Mini rant over.
  17. He's only gone an resigned! See ya Capello!
  18. Everything seems all over the shop and very cluttered. No likey.
  19. Yep i'm one of these fans and off the top of my head those are the only highlights in the 18+ years of me following the blues (in terms of potential signifcance, i do sorta count the cup wins over City and Everton but going up would be something else!). I don't think i'm more dissapointed than others who have seen the glory years as we've all seen the following 18-20 years and its a fair old glory-less trek for anyone regardless of if you managed to see past success. As for last night, to say i was gutted was an understatement. The goal they scored seemed to go on in slow motion and to rub it in it was a comical balls up between CB an GK, not even a decent strike or well earned goal. I was straight out the ground at FT without the people i'd come with and and marched across claytons not wanting to speak with anyone. I might be mad though as i can't wait for Saturday to, hopefully (i know it's that what kills you ), get stuck into Leyton and put last night behind us ASAP.
  20. If you have it on DVD/Blu-Ray then there should be a bit on that back that says what to expect in this film. If it was on tv they usually tell you before the programme begins.
  21. Ah brings back memories of when we had a working scoreboard. Them were the days!!!
  22. Lets hope it is just that a 'rumour'. Doubt they would have the gall to do it. If not though these United fans will be in for a bit of a shock!
  23. Fully agree, there seems to be a 'head buried in the sand' mentality when it comes to talking about bringing approved standing (obviously many still stand regardless in certain situations e.g. away games) back to football stadia. Understandably no one wants a return to the bad old days style terracing but this new type of standing areas would never mean that. We can still keep to tickets for seats etc. I remember the most recent campaign to get standing back and have the bill talked about in parliament and i actually wrote to my MP but he used the same out of date logic that many still use that standing is out the question etc. Standing isn't unsafe in itself it was just the old style of terracing was definitely unsuitable for doing so and especially in large numbers (i.e. crushing). Plenty seem safe enough doing so at concerts and other sporting events why not football? Not saying the atmosphere would improve dramatically but at least it would stop those being ejected (like some of those in the rocky road end sometimes that are trying to create an atmosphere) on the grounds of them being persistent standers. F**k me if its that dangerous but even the jocks can consider it and, especially Rangers, are already talking of installing said safe standing areas taking into account the highly tense old firm games they have then surely down here in England at least the lower flight of football can look at this as a potential goer!
  24. I dunno about others but i would of gone to the 2nd leg at bloomfield but i was under impression we had sold out our allocation for the game so i didnt go but then i heard afterwards that there was plenty going spare? In reply to the OP it's quite a bit before my time but i've heard me Dad and Grandad talk of us going to York for in a promotion year and we took a fair few there but they said it was quite a lot?
