  1. Indeed, some dense comments on Twitter and the like but we finished that game with 8 men, Banks did something when he shot late on that led to him limping too. When they scored the pen I thought they may sneak the draw as we were :censored:ed but we held on. Yes it was a cup game against lower league but we did enough to win, we put pressure on when we got into the game and then built on it. Winch, Green, Mclaughlin, Banks and Flynn could all be doubts for the next game though.
  2. Get 'im a stick wi a hoop and tell him to get outside in the fresh air. And get a hair cut whilst he's at it.
  3. Good to see that our sovereign judicial and legal systems are working to protect this Great Britain of ours!
  4. Generic season ticket holder mumble and grumble...
  5. Or perhaps Robinson thinks McLaughlin's pace and more natural width may help the team today?
  6. Don't forget Fane, he did a lot of horrible work breaking up attacks, getting in the way and passing the ball to footballers.
  7. We've already got a song for Ousame? ........Oh Lancashire is wonderful!
  8. We need to go 4-4-:censored:ing-2 and get right back to basics, stick with the same side for 5 or so games injuries and suspensions permitting. Create a base on which to build a team, sod philosophy, style and fancy stuff let's get the bread and butter sorted before asking this bunch of strangers to try and do things they are not yet capable of. Put the experienced players on the pitch next to the younger lads to do their running and benefit from their experience. This season is a building season with the goal of staying up, we could get lucky after November and go on an amazing run, unlikely granted so let's keep the feet on the ground and not get carried away with one off good or bad results.
  9. Well that's me sorted for when my wife watches Bake Off on catch up tonight. Just popping upstairs to check my prostate... Open browser....
  10. We look very much a scratch side at the moment, lacking understanding of each other's game and not quite there in terms of fitness or sharpness. There have been spells in the last two home games where we have clicked and put some good pacey passing moves together, granted these have been few and far between but look to my blu-tinted eyes as small acorns. Just as in many walks of life, events take over and need to be reacted to, Fane's suspension and Ladapo's illness meant Robinson had to change the side so we are still going to have to wait for the consistency and understanding to develop. I've seen Flynn twice now and think I've touched the ball more times than he has. After half time against Shrewsbury I thought we had made a sub that I'd missed as I hadn't even clocked he was on the pitch in that first half. But, I presume Robinson keeps naming him to get him to match fitness and continuity whilst other changes are being forced on him? Osei looks a real prospect and will need nurturing, we've got experience up top that I hope will help him develop but this will take time. I was fearing the worst for this season but I have more confidence that come November/December we will be a much better position. We won't threaten the top places this season and to think we would is setting yourself up for disappointment, we are a work in progress and as long as we can start next season with the nucleus of a side that has played together before and not have the mass exodus and incomings that we have seen this summer I'd be happy.
  11. Clean sheet after shipping 8 goals in a week. I'll take that. Rome wasn't built in a day, looked better second half but were the second best team in both halves. I'd have put my mortgage on Evans and Wilkinson scoring so keeping them quiet was pleasing.
  12. Going back to NMS, most 'sandpit' games do still handhold and get you to do mission X which unlocks Y which you need to do Z. There does appear to be a mission that needs doing but I've not done much with it. So far happy just to pootle around getting stuff done to get cash to upgrade stuff. I want to get to a point where I am nails before setting off back on the main plot line. This could be quite game breaking as by the time I properly start the quest thing I will be overpowered. But in the meantime it is nice not worrying about what I *should* be doing. It truly is an open universe with granted fairly limited options at the moment. If the devs do add some things in I can see this being a truly wonderful game but I hope they add the right things and not just appease the loudest moaners.
  13. Succumbed to No Man's Sky. I'm enjoying it so far, I like the open endedness and not having to save the girl and kill the baddies.
  14. Top 10? Not even Bacharach and David could get us top 10. 12th to 15th.
  15. Does anyone care? We've just replaced pretty much our full squad, the only possible business we will do is Winchester and/or Cassidy out, maybe Brown. We might cancel the contracts of some of the lads that came in over the summer and pick up some Championship youth on loan.
  16. They call the pavement the sidewalk.
