  1. To have four defenders like Neil Pointon in the team.
  2. Apologies...I thought it was the Reserves playing last night, not the Youth Team.
  3. Why would they wait until Saturday if it has already been decided? Surely he would be gone as soon as anyone with any clout made the decision.
  4. Well, there is nothing happening at our club...is there? It's a bit 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'. The official site has to be seen to be doing something in the wake of Ackey's departure...least they could do, is put up a report of the Reserve's match. Then again, there probably wasn't anybody there to watch it.
  5. OTID - that is one of the best posts I have read in a long while and perfectly sums up the feeling of apathy that is rife concerning the club at this moment in time. Dereliction, devoid of the match-day experience, devoid of emotion, devoid of direction and almost devoid of fans. Who in their right state of mind wants to keep paying £20+ to watch dross in a run down stadium, with a dismal lack of atmosphere? The board will do nothing...the land is their saviour...Boundary Park is in peril of dying as a sporting venue. The entire club may go the same way.
  6. Perhaps they are expecting a rush of applicants who could also double-up as manager.
  7. Now watch the standard of updates, match reports etc. plummet. You think it would be a dream job...obviously, it wasn't. Good luck Ackey.
  8. Can't see any drastic action being taken - I honestly think they've lost all heart.
  9. TTA won't get rid until there are only 10 games left and we are still in the :censored:.
  10. Marketing should take a look at the product on the pitch, the facilities and service off the pitch and ask a fair price for admission. £10-£12 seems about right. Even with better performances, I don't think attendance will increase because the club is asking way too much for admission. It's just not worth it when you also factor in the cost of a programme , food and drink and travel to and from the ground. Throw in a few kids, and the money could definitely be better spent elsewhere.
  11. Just the way it should be done. If 'Dale can do it, then why the bloody hell can't Latics? That's why he doesn't WANT to come back...and who can blame him?
  12. If that's the case, he might as well go now. We need a settled side and settled management team...I would be happy to see Abbot and Blackman playing up front as a regular pairing. The chances of O'Grady and Fleming returning in January are looking increasingly likely.
  13. I think Blackman and Heffernan up front from the off would have been a more likely line-up.
  14. Now 1-0 up against Brentford. I'ts amazing what a bit of faith and a settled line-up can do. Oh, and a new manager (well, caretaker boss)
  15. Heffernan replaced by Parker! Yet another striker consigned to the "graveyard".
  16. What makes you think we'd be more consistent and win more games? Consistency has been lacking for quite a few seasons and being at the top of league 2 certainly won't boost the attendances. I'll give you the 'confidence factor' argument, but that would only happen if we bounced straight back. A settled line up should see us out of trouble and that isn't going to happen this side of the New Year.
  17. 9-1 and that could double up as the score.
  18. Makes sense. Sky sports has it down as 4-4-2.
  19. Why Colbeck up front with Heffernan? Why not Smalley, Blackman or even Brooke? Puzzling to say the least.
