I cant find much on the more reputable dodgy streaming websites about our game being on tomorrow. Can someone PM a link if it genuinely is on?

I think he needs to show more consistency in his other positions before he will get thrown in elsewhere. He clearly has talent though so with the right coaching and management you would hope he could turn into a good player eventually.

Maybe when fans stop over analysing his game? ;) Seriously though, I havent been watching the games but I listened to the Bristol City match and they said he was playing well and others have had good things to say about him from other games on here so it cant be all that bad. I think he may settle down more when he actually gets a regular position though and then it will be up to him to show he can mature into a reliable pro. It takes time and games.

I think the difference with LJ is he is bringing in loan players for areas where we need strengthening or competition. From my memory Shez would sign 4 senior strikers then never play them and bring people in on loan instead. If it is young lads they wont have to play and as LJ has already shown vs Shrewsbury he will take them off if they are not doing the business. If Gosset is back and wants to get in the team I am sure he will if he demonstrates he is ready in training.

Is there any websites that tip on what games are being fixed? A couple of years ago on another football forum there was a tip for an Irish second division game which came through. I'm surprised betfair hadn't pulled it as the money going on dwarfed the other games in the same league that night. I'm just interested in how this gets uncovered is it just unusual betting patterns? I used to live with a Greek lad who was very clued up on Mediterranean match fixing and made a good supplementary income through it. This was pre Serie A scandal and towards the end of the season he highlighted clubs that had nothing to play for throwing matches on a regular basis. I'm not condoning this btw just find it interesting, and to be honest I was probably quite naive in thinking it wasn't really a part of our game.

I thought LJ was after at least 2 in each position so can see why a winger is on the cards still. More competition for Montano, Schmeltz and Dayton will keep them all on their toes.

I've seem two relegations with two play off finishes being the highlight of watching latics over the years. I was too young to appreciate it properly when we were in the top division

I think it's a great idea there is a real gap for something like this among our fan base and it would be well received by me now I am abroad if it was in a blog format! Would maybe try and contribute something about Japanese football too now I'm over here.

Philliskirk was critical of our first team managers in regards to bringing through youth players after Dickov left if I remember correctly. Seems like a good number of players still making a living from football I wonder how this compares with other teams spending a similar amount on their youth set ups?

For me you hit the nail on the head, we can debate lineups and formations all day but in reality we base this on very little compared to the manager. I remember when Lewis Alessandra broke through and looked decent. Couldn't understand why Shez wasn't playing him and read in the programme that he was no where near training hard enough to deserve a start.

I know it is a big pArt of our culture to snipe and moan but having recently moved to Japan I went to watch a random game from their second tier. The whole crowd was really positive and I did get the impression of a much greater mutual respect between fans and players. I was a bit sad that we can't do the same. It was just a small crowd in a totAlly open stadium but the fans were fantastic and noisy throughout, home and away. The sad thing is despite all of that I know on our day we can create a much better atmosphere, I just wish that day was more often! I guess English crowds are some of the hardest to please, you really have to earn that vocal support. I can however see why avb may criticise the home support in England

Jch and Rooney for me. I only listen to games but isn't Rooney top scorer and jch always sounds a real handful. I feel our main problem something that has been a problem now for a long time is a real goal scoring midfielder. In the past we have had Taylor eyres duxbury etc

Conceding one goal away from home is no way to say whether or not the back four were solid. If we had converted our dominance into goals yesterday it would have been job done

From listening to the matches it sounds like the improvement is that we can score and create chances under LJ. Last few seasons watching Dickie i had forgotten what creating chances was like. Problem is we seem just as good at letting in soft goals which could turn into a real problem.

That is a bit disheartening then. The response I got was from the Digital Director at the FL and I thought he was being a bit vague in terms of his time scales. All he said was it would not be ready this season! We can always hope I suppose. If it is true about Sheffield United providing full match highlights then I think the next thing to do is put pressure on OAFC to upload these to Latics Player.
