  1. I think we all have to show a little more patience here....Simon Corney has said that there are about 9 or 10 teams on the brink of administration in our division and are living way above their means. Whilst this is generally bad as a whole for the game, we could however, be in a position to take advantage of the situation in the next couple of seasons. Clubs will be offloading their big earners at the end of the season and most clubs will have to cut their cloth accordingly. There will be a lot more players out of contract than ever before looking for clubs, and they will have to be content with much reduced terms. We could be in the market for some of these and if we could get on a promotion run over the next couple of seasons we could just be moving into the new ground at the right time!! I am certain that in the near future a club will fold ( could be Stockport...I hope not! ) and when it happens a few more will inevitably follow....TTA have said this club is in a reasonably healthy position and looking for self sufficiency within a few years at a new stadium. Failsworth is not everyones cup of tea ( me included ) but it just might be the best/only alternative given the state of the game at the moment...If we can build a promotion team over the next couple of seasons the next decade could be a lot more interesting than we imagine!!!
  2. No real need to ask is there?.......they would have every right to pocket the cash and offset some of the dead money they have invested and I would have no problem with it whatsoever!!
  3. To me Smalley is just another one in a long line of youth prospects that have promised so much but have delivered almost nothing. Recently, Allesandra and Wolfie, are two more off the top of my head. Is it that we play them in the wrong positions or is it that they are really just poor players...I think it's the latter!!!! People keep raving about how Smalley will one day become a cracking player and that he is a great prospect.....that great prospect is now 21, he's not a kid anymore and I'm sorry but in my opinion he ain't good enough....yes, maybe you would see a better player if he was at Rochdale but they are in a lower league and at a lower standard, Chris O'Grady couldn't hit a barn door in league 1 but can't stop scoring in league 2!!! I'm sure confidence does come into it to some extent but the old saying 'If you're good enough you're old enough' rings true. Matty Wolfenden made 10 full appearances in 6 years at the club, how much must his development have cost the club in that time....I can't believe we persevered with him as long as we did...he's only made 4 starts in the conference this season for Wrexham!!!
  4. I disagree...Moore drove alot of fans away with his boring style and lack of affinity with the fans and that was the main reason for his dismissal, the problem is after Shez's brief shot at promotion and subsequent demise we have continued our decline. I do agree that the problem is not primarily with the manager as there are a whole host of reasons why this club is on it's arse, however, the main reason is the crap out on the pitch. TTA are responsible for keeping this club alive but unfortunately the product on the pitch seems to get worse with every passing manager....I can't remember a more depressing season than this one and really don't get any enjoyment whatsoever from going to BP anymore. We are 6 years into TTA's 5 year plan to get established in the championship.....If we no longer have this ambition then I think the club is doomed. I, and many more, will certainly not go to Failsworth to watch any more of this sh**e!!!!
  5. We have won 6 games and scored only 20 goals in half a flamin season and for what ever reason it's not good enough, by the time we get to Failsworth we won't have a bloody team to support!!!!! Sort it out TTA...we are six years into a five year plan and it's clearly not working!
  6. That would equate to about 23 points in a season!!
  7. The mere fact that his proffesional career is on the line will surely have a bearing on his performance...He has to produce the goods, cut out the silly errors and improve his positioning and awareness at free kicks. I reckon if Flahaven had remained fit and with a possible return of Fleming Brill would have been moved on in the window. He now has an unexpected second chance to prove the doubters wrong........ I hope he takes it!!
  8. The way the snow is coming down right now I reckon it was a somewhat premature decision.......The roads will be snowbound by 3 pm and once the temperature drops I think they'll be lucky to finish the game!!!!
  9. Don't think they intend to let him go permanently and surely his wages will be a stumbling block!!!!
  10. You could be right about Furman as he's been a major dissapointment this season. People have commented on him having no support or playing in the wrong position...I don't buy that and if you're good enough you'll go looking for the ball a bit more.....to me, he doesn't get on the ball enough and when he does he goes sideways or backwards!! I really hope it's not Stephens who makes way!!!
  11. He's scored 4 goals at CB for Plymouth....Do you think that we could now, actually pose a threat from corners !!!!!
  12. Signing just confirmed on OAFC website.....Penney's not wasting any time is he?
  13. He's referred to as 'The Beast of Budapest' on Plymouth's website. 6'3" and over 13 stone...sounds like the no nonsense defender we have been craving for....also holds a full Hungary international cap. Just had a SMS from the club that we have signed a Championship defender so it could well be true!!
  14. We just signed another Huddersfield reject...Jim Goodwin on a months loan!! Hudds Old Boy's or what!! And another midfielder!!
  15. Gray, Whalley or both!! Reckon the money generated from O'Grady sale could by one or both!!
  16. The whole injury situation is a bloody joke yet another flamin injury in training........it's eleven days since we've had a competitive game....somebody chinned him or what!!!!
  17. Another goal for O'Grady in a 4 v 1 win....Rochdale will take some stopping now with a goal fifference of +30 and 14 points clear of 4th place. Also a pretty decent crowd today.... 4309. I think Dale are benifitting from a settled forward line who have remained injury free for the first half of the season!!
  18. Tranmere play Wolves at home in the cup on the 3rd, that's why the Leeds game is postponed!
  19. Little bit surprised it has been announced so early....another 36 hours could have seen quite a difference in conditions. How bad is it around the ground? It will be a big blow to the club as a Boxing day crowd would be almost double that of a Tuesday night.
  20. They are top of the league and 7 points clear, they've scored more goals than any other team, last 6 games Played 6 won 6 goals scored 17 goals conceded 3.....last Saturdays crowd and the only game in the division that survived the weather? .....2596!!!! I don't think they will ever need more than 10,000 seats no matter how succesful!!!!
