  1. I was making a similar point last night. So can you imagine my pain recently as a fan of both teams (my family are traditionally Bolton fans, I got taken to Oldham first so they are 1st team). A limp draw felt much worse than having a go and losing.
  2. Sky seem to linking us with Daniel Gardner, don't know much about him, but I think he's a forward http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_5862593,00.html
  3. ever read a free online article and felt you've been overcharged?
  4. it's promising, I got a cold call off the club yesterday about getting fans opinions and making them aware of initiatives. Unfortunately was driving so couldn't take the whole call, but looks like effort has increased. Will be interested to hear what they wanted when they call back

    MOTM Vs. Charlton

I actually thought the Colbeck had a very good first half, but disappeared a little in the second. I'm not responsible for the vote though! I went for Furman, though could equally have gone for Pav, Worthington, Gregan or Hazell. Was worried about before the match about Lomax at left back against Sam, but thought he coped very well.
  6. if the kids are under 5 they might let them in for free - when i was booking some charlton tickets earlier this week i think the lady on the phone was saying that was policy at latics, pretty sure <5 years was the cut off
  7. I really think this is something that should be looked at. Even if not free, could do a nominal fee of a couple of quid<£5, not losing money (assuming they can't afford to go at full price) and there might be gains in other areas. I heard a team (Birmingham?) letting in people from the Armed Forces for £5, I would definitely support initiatives like these, good will in bad times, will improve attendance and local perception of the team.
  8. Christ, the good old days! Thanks for dragging that memory up
  9. Was Tischler the one who started up front against Halifax, or was that the lad who was injured against Bury?
  10. This made me laugh, mine are 3 and 7, going through the same thing! Congratulations 0's, its the best
  11. Wouldn't be surprised if we went for someone like this lad for GK position. Wonder if our Hungarian contacts know much about him http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wande...come_loan_move/ Ignore the fact he looks like Harry Potter's friend http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,1004,00.html
  12. was perfect, well placed and a LOT of power
  13. pretty much how I saw it, Brentford shaded posession and chances, either side could have won but neither can argue with a point, referee was baffling poor decisions both ways, felt he was destined to give them a penalty. Thought Brentford looked a decent side, Cort was a handful although ref let him take liberties, saunders was good down the left and they have a very solid looking centre back pairing. Was pleased with Brill today, and an all round battling performance and a useful point
  14. no, it's M45 I'm another with no Oldham connection, never lived there
  15. Hmmmmm, i'm Whitefield, so could be Bury or Outer Manchester. Couldn't bear to put Bury so went for Outer Manchester
  16. sssh it always has to be Gregan's fault I'd say a mixture of the two, as a defender i wouldn't just let a ball heading diagonally toward goal through if i could easily deal with it unless i had a strong early shout from the keeper. So that suggests Brill. But then i think just deal with it, row z. So maybe Gregan
  17. Meant to post the other day, thought it was well written and balanced/realistic. Hope you continue
  18. Good luck to him in getting fixed up, good to acknowledge us. I was initially hoping he would sign for us, but thinking about it more recently I don't think he's the answer to our problems in central defence
  19. Reminded me of Didi Hamman Liverpool to City via Bolton, although Bolton profitted on that one http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/5177222.stm
  20. Harsh, no-one really knows what goes on with contract offers unless they are in the room, so can be forgiven for not having facts on that, I think his opinion on players is interesting though and contributes to the discussion Actually off to see Huddersfield tomorrow , got a Cov supporting friend who is over from Aus, so off to watch the match, will be interesting to see how HT are shaping up
  21. Absolutely. Anyway, I thought the main source of revenue these days was from TV, and that fans in the ground were just window dressing. Not saying this is good or right, but suggests loads of empty seats is neither desirable nor a terminal missed revenue stream?
