  1. RIP Ernie. Thanks Thanks also for passing on our regards FBC
  2. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/DaveP...1703508,00.html been trying to think who penney reminds me of in that photo, is it de niro in meet the fockers?
  3. no goals as far as i know, but my local rag were reporting alan knill's fears about losing him and suggested they were very keen to retain his services. i think he had a lively game last saturday by all accounts
  4. hmmmm............ Luton 6 Oldham 1 19/8/1978, thanks for making me find that out
  5. by rights i should be a bolton fan, my dad took me on new years day in the late 80's to watch oldham play blackburn because he was impressed with the football we were playing. bolton were in the basement division back then. i just stuck with oldham since then, even though i have no connection with the town at all. i still see a lot of bolton games and they are a close second team
  6. i was thinking about that very match the other day. much to my shame i went to a match at old trafford, and what with the red seats, largely red hoardings, and all the boxfresh red replica shirts, the home team were quite difficult to pick out against the backdrop. i think its a poor excuse, if the leeds fans are so concerned about misleading players they should under no circumstances go to the game in white this away kit of ours is growing on me
  7. Hazell our centre back scored a better one last season than anything you posted, look it up
  8. Thanks for the edit. Which did you work out first, Taylor isn't a striker or that Beckford is?
  9. my god, what a thread here's hoping we get dicked on in the next 44 games too
  10. mentioned it on some other thread, lewi and hughes looks like THE combination
  11. no not at all. don't know if you seen a replay yet, was one of those dumb ones where they go to push the other player with the head rather than a butt. not the sort of thing to do while the ref has hold of you! i guess zidane would argue that if you are going to get sent off for a butt, make it a good one!
  12. you don't think there's a whiff of over-reaction here? what else should happen, where does the punishment stop, should he be made to perform self-flagellation, maybe he could wear an albatross around his neck for the rest of the season. he got a red-card, he over-reacted in a split-second with a stupid gesture (that's all it was). he'll know he let the team and the manager and the fans, and i'm sure he'll knuckle down and come back brighter. i hope allessandra makes himself irreplaceable in the meantime
  13. me too, i think lewis and hughes might be our best strike combination
  14. the gap between the sublime and ridiculous was split seconds, you'd get halfway through praising him for something by the time he'd sliced it to one of their forwards he recovered well in the second half
  15. i don't think he's lame or lazy, think he does a lot of the pressuring and unsung work up front, and was doing so tonight, no disputing it was a dumb sending off though
  16. Decision was a disgrace, the only player after the jersey was VoH, was all over Haining, referee was probably making up for a border-line decision he denied slightly earlier.
  17. I actually think Fleming started that one, having a pop at Gregan for putting it out for the corner when he wasn't sure. He has a right to have a go back, he dealt with it. I think the important thing is that it leads people to think about their game. I'd sooner have vocal players than timid ones, and I think it's a good sign that we have a few
