  1. Absolute top day from breakfast in Spoons with what seemed like 200 Oldham, passing round the "Frankfurt Spirit" to the atmosphere in the ground, Shez showing he's cool as fuck passing on the wave and giving us the V with a big smile on his face then the respect of both fans at the end - "who the fuck are mk dons"...can't wait for next season and another 9 month adventure with the greatest set of fans in this country!
  2. Did plenty of "daft things" as a young lad following Latics but never found it necessary to spit at a steward. Didn't see why they were kicked out of the pub, we were at the front they came from the back but the lad throwing a few stones towards a large brick built pub and some parked cars was pathetic too. As has been mentioned a couple of times maybe it's up to us to police that behaviour sometimes and something I'm happy to get involved in. Finally the thread as with most on here gets hijacked by ridiculous posts, firstly a pathetic sweeping generalisation of Latics fans, then some lesson in Latin that I really didn't need at this time in a morning. The same handful of posters always seem to hijack threads with their oneupmanship or use them as a vehicle for their agendas either for or against Corney which is why people like me lose interest in the relevance of what is a fantastic basis of a forum...shame really!
  3. Saw both incidents and you're right it's up to us to sort it out, gives us a bad name, our away support is fantastic and we don't need little scrotes like that. Dont think the lad with the drum reacted at all it was the same gobshite that picked some gravel up to throw as they left the pub that was kicking off in the ground. Apparently he spat at a steward and got kicked out. Best thing is...I've been told he's a City fan, doesn't even support Latics!
  4. Got to be Palmerston Arms, quality ales and ciders, street parking nearby and just 5 mins walk from the ground...3 of us setting off shortly.
  5. Did something in the heat of the moment, we don't know what or if something else provoked it...he's apologised and accepted his punishment so let's not be sanctimonious about it. Wilson will do a job at centre back as he did at MK. Shez has brought everyone together...let's stick together.
  6. Really - Green is on form...thought he was poor again Saturday! I understand the need to keep possession but picking the ball up in an attacking position and running backwards towards your own goal looking to offload wherever possible is a bit much and the sign of a man low on confidence. Thought Banks did ok when he came on Saturday and even put his toe in. Would rather see him and Fane start, one can pass the other can break play up between the 2 you get 1 decent midfielder. Thought Odabeyi did ok at Chesterfield and MK Mongs, maybe if Holloway is out he'll give him a start up top
  7. The Croft dithering was just before the throw in, he had the ball at his feet, facing upfield and instead of launching it into their half, took another touch and put himself under pressure, hence the throw from halfway in our half. We had endured about 2-3 mins pressure leading up to that point and - at the time - you felt if he just smashed it deep into their half the ref would've just blown.
  8. Think that header you mention Fyldelatic was Odebayi...hit his shoulder and looped out. Holloway had a chance near the end of the half and tried to guide it into the bottom corner but it went just wide of the post. Holloway does some excellent work around the box he needs someone up there with him though. Guess it shows where we are squad wise when they can bring Nicky Maynard on as sub and we bring Osei on. Shez knows our limitations, we all would've been happy with a point but as has been said, Croft dithered on the edge of the box instead of just hoofing it and no idea how they even found 4 minutes, to then concede in the 6th minute is hard to take. They all put a proper shift in, worked their socks off for each other and we deserved a point. Two massive games coming up now!!
  9. Still buzzing from yesterday...onto MK Plastics, the ground is part of a retail park and hotel, been a few times and not found any decent pubs anywhere nearby. You can go into the hotel bar and get a pint though...me and the boy should be in there about half 6ish.
  10. Yardog is spot on, the station is back in the same direction as the town centre so busy at the end of the game. It's probably just over a mile so a quick walk and you could be back for quarter past. If your lucky you could get a taxi on the walk back, maybe up by the college but best to plan on a quick getaway and walk to the station, there's only a couple of platforms so once you're there it should be straight forward.
  11. Local one for me this...plenty of street parking around the ground, few decent pubs nearby, meeting up with a few Chesterfield lads in the Donkey Derby on the roundabout...looking forward to this one, return of Taylor and a real 6 pointer.
  12. Didn't know the name but saw a picture on twitter and instantly recognised him. As has been said, bit of a character but in a good way, often asked about other scores at half time and saw him at plenty of games home and away. Sad loss at such a young age. RIP John
  13. Two out - Erwin and Edmundson Three in - two loans, a left back and a centre mid plus Taylor back on a 2 and a half year permanent deal!
  14. Don't know how we scored and kept them down to 2!! Credit to Clarke, Gerrard and Ripley, Holloway pur a shift in...motm by a mile the ballboy. Need at least 2 preferably 3 or 4 in quickly if we are to stay up.
  15. 3 of us going...parking isn't great Kev. It's one of those out of town stadiums with nothing around. On the road towards the ground about half a mile before you get there, there's a turning on the right, up there is a housing estate, park on one of the roads round there and walk. There's a pub round there as well but think they charge a fiver to park...that's the nearest pub to the ground as well. If you go past the ground there's nothing in that direction for a mile or so, just a retail park.
  16. Seen Robbo's interview and again he alludes to the fact that we are creating chances but it just won't go in. The problem is we are not creating enough chances! I'm sure I read that a Premier League side creates 6-7 chances per goal, it's no doubt more in League One. Apart from the Port Vale game we are just not creating enough chances to score, 3 or 4 per game is just not enough. He sets us up negatively, his tactics are defensive minded and we just don't seem to shoot very often. As Robbo shrewdly pointed out, you need to score to win a game, well equally we need to be creating more chances to score a goal, throw bodies forward, take a risk and have a :censored:ing shot every now and then. I get he's not had the easiest introduction into management but he's getting it wrong and making watching Latics a painful experience. Time for Robbo to go, now, today...get someone in who will at least have a go for the rest of the season and hopefully get a few decent players in to help the 4 or 5 of the current crop that have some ability. Once/if we get a manager and team to get behind then we really need to turn on Corney. One :censored: up too many from him, time to go and get someone else in, if we can't sell the club then surely Blitz and his cronies have another mate who isn't so :censored:ing incompetent!
  17. Yes, sad to see him go, guessed he was leaving after him making a point of giving George his shirt at the end of the game. Always been "one of our own" and a top lad. The saddest thing is my last memory of him will be of him walking off last night wearing some kind of sports bra!!
  18. Fair enough, bit of a knee jerk reaction from me last night but still don't think I'll bother going. I don't feel any affiliation to this set of players and manager, his team selections are ridiculous, we looked at the team sheet last night and couldnt work out what formation or who would be playing in what position...a few hours later, driving home and we still couldn't work it out. It's the same every week, we press the ball, have plenty of energy but show no attacking ambition, don't get numbers forward to support an attack and invariably lose the ball without even having a shot. We set up not to concede and hope we can somehow nick a goal, as the title of the thread says, enough is enough. Hopefully we'll change the manager and get a few new faces in once the embargo is lifted, it could be too late already though, the rot has already set in.
  19. Tonight was even worse than Lincoln for me, never once did we look like scoring...absolute :censored:ing shameful shambles of a team. :censored: off Corney, :censored: off Robbo, missed one league game all season but I can find something better to do on Saturday. In fact think we should all boycott the game. :censored: getting behind the team, they don't deserve it. Lowest crowd for years on Saturday, show your support for the club by staying at home.
  20. Well said Westy, doesn't matter about punctuation, grammar or who's been to the most games. What matters is what the :censored: is going on with OUR club. The silence is deafening, we need to see/hear something to give us a glimmer of hope. I'll be at Mansfield but can't carry on blindly supporting this team, short term, without 4 or 5 quality additions we are going down. Long term, what the :censored: is the long term plan? Is there even a long term plan, those of us still going week in, week out are loyal to the club but don't take us for mugs.
  21. Never had an issue at Millwall...proper fans should stick together when these things happen. Feel for them, another victim of greedy bastards ignoring the one thing that keeps a community together, going to the local game on a Saturday. Build another soulless out of town stadium for another load of plastic fans and corporate cocks to support? :censored: the council!
  22. Mediocre loanees who have contributed to us being bottom going to relegation rivals. That's good news I'd say. My thoughts exactly!! Would just like to know that others are coming in...Holloway and Gerrard would do very nicely thanks
