  1. Yep either could have gone off. Neither were playing that badly or pulling up trees. Both were doing effectively the same holding job, although Missilou does give us a bit more more going forward.
  2. Sylla did well at breaking up the play and won some good balls. However we needed more creativity going forward and Sylla does not look like someone who can do this. Lets be honest he's a Fane type of player! The problem was not taking him off, but was not having someone to come on who could change the game. I get it that Baxter should have been able to this, however he didn't and clearly is not the player he was. He was also not fully fit which is understandable. Vera is just imobile. He has some good touches and had/made for himself a couple of half chances, but he needs more time to get used to the English game and the pace of it. He will be more of a goal threat than OG I think long term. Right move to sub him off I think, but again poor quality coming on making no difference. OG hardly broke sweat and was very poor. I'd have given Benteke a go as we were crying out for some pace.
  3. Was at the game tonight and felt sorry for Hammer, George and Stott. They did nothing wrong really were solid and calm, and were at no fault for the 2 pens. We need to keep all 3 as they have the potential to be a decent core to our team for the next few years. Agree with most of the comments made on tonight's game. We looked decent at times in midfield and passed the ball about OK but the lack of movement from Vera and OG meant attacks stalled at critical times. Hopefully we can sign a striker with some pace before Friday otherwise we simply won't score enough goals. Maouche who I've criticised before was OK tonight and with someone like scholes coaching him i think could be a good asset as he would create more than anyone if our forwards were making the right runs. Branger just isn't a 90 mins player and is a luxury we just can't carry.
  4. Not sure if your here Richie but I am and it's not that bad. With a more clinical forward we should be winning and are the better team. Just need to be more composed and get the ball in the box quicker
  5. Maybe, but if offered a coaching role the lure of working with someone with Scholes profile may change his mind...
  6. I'm sure Wild will get an active role. He will need someone "on the inside" and we don't have many to chose from!! Plus he deserves to stay involved in some way with the first team
  7. Surely its the opposite - he has absolutely nothing to lose in this situation. We are at our lowest point in the football pyramid for nearly 50 years. We cant do much worse in this shit league.(he says tongue in cheek) As some have said he has an easy get out clause if what AL has agreed to is not honored. Do a half decent job with some sensible loan signings and some decent football, and we will "walk the league" next season and Scholes will be viewed as a success.
  8. Was just thinking the same...Mr Sinnott...why no cigar??
  9. Be interesting how many of us will be there on Tuesday. I'm going with a mate but if we take 300 we will do well I think.... Plus its gonna be brass monkeys!! Really need 3 points to keep us in the mix. Decent time to play them... They have lost their last 3
  10. Win with an ugly 1 0 tomorrow, Wild will be a tactical genius and be installed as odds on favourite for the job.... Whether we agree or not football is now a results driven game where you are only as good as your last result
  11. Wouldn't have thought a left back was our main priority at the moment
  12. He's a big boy Harry who's financially secure for life, so if he doesn't really want it I'm sure he wont take it! On the field he looked pretty committed to me so lets hope if he takes the job he shows the same commitment.
  13. Sky Sports News now reporting Scholes is favourite but Wild will be in charge Saturday as AL is not back from Dubai until later this week now...... Read into it what you will but I'd say its happening.
  14. You would think that if it was total bollocks, Scholes would have made a statement ruling himself out by now, given the level of media speculation. I'm guessing it's by no means a done deal either so I'll be crossing my fingers and hoping we can get it over the line. It would be imo, the most positive thing to happen to the club for many a year and do wonders for our profile both locally and further afield.
  15. Great. The more numbers we have the better. Creates competition and covers us for injuries. He's got his critics but he's a decent squad player in this league.
  16. Considering the circumstances and our woeful options up front I guess you'd take a point against a very solid and well set up FG. However looks like OG is now injured so we desperately need some forward reinforcements this week otherwise both play off aspirations and FA Cup 5th round will be gone.
  17. Lapodo scored again for Plymouth... Miller just scored for Trannies
  18. Sounds like Baxter is our only option and he hardly looked ripped at Fulham!! ? We really are light on numbers particularly up front
  19. Think we may see our new man Monsieur Sylla tomorrow! Not too many options available to us at the moment so most of the team picks itself which isn't a bad thing sometimes. If he plays like he says he does, then he should hopefully make us more solid in the middle against a very solid FGR who have the best away record in the division Pts 1 Forest Green 13 7 4 2 27 16 +11 25 2 Lincoln 12 7 2 3 20 10 +10 23 3 Carlisle Utd 13 7 2 4 21 15 +6 23 4 Mansfield 13 4 8 1 19 13 +6 20 5 Exeter 13 5 5 3 16 13 +3 20 6 Swindon Town 14 5 4 5 15 16 -1 19 7 Oldham 13 4 6 3 16 14 +2 18 8 Milton Keynes 12 4 5 3 18 14 +4 17 9 Bury 14 4 4 6 18 19 -1 16 Iversen Hamer Clarke Edmundson Nepo Lang Missilou Sylla Branger Maouche O’Grady Hope he starts as it will a be a good indication if he's good enough.
  20. Wow if this is correct very impressive. Is he with us for the rest of the season??
  21. He's done an amazing job so far. I'd leave him as caretaker for the next 4/6 weeks or so unless a stand out applicant wants the job, to see how he responds when things don't go to plan. No need to panic and make any permanent appointment IMO. We know AL will make all transfer decisions in the window anyway so Wildy can just get on with the on field stuff and work with what he gets. We do need to strengthen up front quickly though. With Surridge and Miller now gone we are left with only OG and Lang as strikers which I don't think will be good enough to challenge. Also need a centre half.....
  22. It's a Sunday so I'd drive to Hammersmith and find off-street parking and walk to the ground.
