  1. A very generous piece. I think he’ll struggle or be nothing more than ok. He won’t get anywhere near the Money Abdallah threw at it for the first few months, and the ‘exciting football’ literally lasted for six games. His constant whingeing and excuses began to grate very quickly. Did he have issues to deal with- yes. But what lower league manager doesn’t? As a comparison- I’ve not heard Bunn mention once that his number two has been sacked, despite the fact it must be killing him- It’s called professionalism. Ritchie struggled with that. Swindon have a got a manager who flatters to deceive IMO. Will blame ANYTHING he can for a defeat, or loss of form. He will demand Swindon ‘some him their ambition’ by signing players they can’t afford because he can’t get a tune out of what’s there or more likely who he’s already signed. As singe says- look at his first quote on signing. . . Enough said.
  2. Not heard anything. But, to be fair. He’s hardly been a key figure. He’s shown glimpses, but his gerenal lack of fitness and form has been a real disappointment. Hope he can come back firing.
  3. I can as well. Back in the real world, the FA or premier league are asked to show how much they care for the soul of football by pumping in x amount of millions to keep a small club going. They laugh privately. Then we fold. Enjoy the game tonight Eyrsey. Maybe give your head a rest for a bit eh? ?
  4. I’ve tried Dave. Several times. But eyrsey sometimes loves a completely fabricated unsubstained myth to get us going. He’s such a laugh.
  5. For all the ‘ these are awful’ brigade. My fear hasn’t got nothing to do with playing a load of plumbers and brickes. It’s more to do with our clubs ability to find and embrace new lows, both on and off the pitch. I’d snatch your hand off for 1-0 win now, and yes- we are THAT shit.
  6. Indeed. Not looking forward to it. We’ve got shock written all over us.
  7. ? I think the premier league would just put our 10p back in the pot. There will be football at BP in years to come, but it won’t be secured by the authorties. It never is. It will be the unpalatable status quo- the OEC and the football club both need each other.
  8. That’s not you what you said. You said. The authorties would never allow us to go bust. Thats very different to administration and a buyer. Which is what I alluded to, and presumes somebody would be willing to buy us. It’s got nothing to with the authorities. The football club has got nothing to do with blitz and Gazal, they just happen to own a stand on a football ground. If the football club can’t pay its way, and no buyer can be found it folds. The authorities do not and have never saved a club. So again. What specifically would the authorities do to stop us from going bust? The answer is nothing.
  9. How would the authorities stop us going to the wall? Bournemouth were minutes from going bust, no sign of the authorities. Just the usual cheque from a local businessman.
  10. He if won’t speak to them, he defintley won’t respond to emails. But I understand your sentiment. Good point about going public, as long as they didn’t leave themselves open to breaking confidentiality agreements. My impression of Barry is that as long as he’s got a role at the club he won’t rock the boat. Self gratification over the bigger picture.
  11. What’s your point? Just ask him anyway? Even though he won’t talk to them. . .
  12. Oh I agree. But if he wont talk to you, because you’ve upset him. Then your talking to yourself.
  13. Catch 22. Ask one difficult question- and it’s your last. Smile and keep him close in the hope of information- be accused of not holding him to account.
  14. Agreed. I think they’ll always be a team from Oldham. In what guise or what league I’m not sure anymore. But I certainly think the idea of the club folding and BP becoming bulldozed, just leaving the OEC is remote in the extreme. Can you imagine trying to sell space or events at the OEC without the football club. It would be a 6/7 million write off for Blitz. The PR for it would be horrific. ‘Come and enjoy a Dinner at the OEC this weekend, where you can enjoy views of where the football club used to be.’ Nah
  15. I’m just pleased that it might force his hand a bit. It probably wont like, but we live in hope.
  16. If we could a have a little cup run, we could possibly sign one or two in Jan. . This hope means we’ll lose. All the best.
  17. You contradict yourself Bristol. Your last line says it all, the reason people are unhappy is because we haven’t played like that in every game. People don’t expect to hammer sides, but they do expect an intent to win the game. If we had played like we did tonight throughout the season- even with a similar points total, people would be far happier IMO.
