  1. That’s pie in the sky Harry, and you know it. You can have all the mindset you want. You can talk about standards and any other buzz word, but it can’t disguise investment and squad depth. What fan embraces soft bigotry of low expectation???? Your implying we’ve all come accept where we are instead realising what ‘we should be’ or ‘can be’ that’s all well and good in never never land. . . but back in the real world it’s called money, and we haven’t got any. Money comes well before any soft bigotry of low expectation. I dont expect anything, because we’re skint. Simple.
  2. Sinnot alluded to the fact Bunn won’t be here much longer. If not, I’d take Bowyer. He’s got pedigree in this division, and he’s used to working in a circus.
  3. Whenever we’re not fancied, we usually come up with something. Especially away. Wouldn’t surprise me if we won on sat. Followed by another Oldham nil at home. 2-0 away win is 12’s. Worth a cheeky fiver. ?
  4. Mmmm. Beginning to feel the same. When he got called out after 5 games, i thought it was harsh to make a judgement on the style of play so quickly. After 15 games, I think you can get a fairer reflection on how he wants to play. I think the standard of the league will mean we will stay up quite comfortably, but if we were playing like this in league one, we’d be bottom four no doubt. As we were on numerous occasions with managers of a similar style to Bunn’s. Robinson being the best example. The vast majority of top half sides in any league play to win, instead trying not to lose and hoping to nick it. It’s frustrating and very boring to watch, especially at home.
  5. So. . At home. It’s looking like we beat the really poor sides, and lose to everybody else. And away. we nick the odd win, draw most, and lose a few. 17th it is then. Night.
  6. Who’s gonna sack him? Isn’t the Chairman still waiting to get through customs? Unless he texts Barry, and gets him to do it?
  7. It really does feel like things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. What a lot worse looks like is a scary thought. . Sigh Get. Me. A. Beer.
  8. Agreed. If you choose to play. Then give it your all. I wouldn’t however begrudge them not playing, if there not getting paid.
  9. In addition who would pay all of this struggling clubs debt off- leaving no money to pay wages. . Unless of course. You haven’t.
  10. Didn’t that Jeff Mostyn pump a load in at the last minute to save them extinction? While he wasn’t a billionaire, he was paying the bills to take them upto the championship. I don’t think it was mega money, but equally they weren’t struggling to pay wages neither. You don’t have that level of success without some level of investment. We have had zero investment, and have no proof we are debt free- (and seeing as though abdallah told us our problems we’re behind us, to then struggle with the basics of paying wages) I’m very dubious we are. It’s a very grim time, and I would be straggered if we seriously challenged this year.
  11. What do you mean? We’ve gone backwards since our darkest hour?
  12. I agree in part. I don’t think clubs our size will ever go to the wall as such. As I believe they’ll always be a team from Oldham in some form. In addition I think they’ll always be place for local sides playing each other- especially with two fingers to massive clubs. Where I do agree, is your point about leagues splitting into temslves. There’s already talk of a premier league 2. An I think with the money involved now, in years to come that will be our ‘promise land.’ The money that would be required to stabilise us in championship from our current position would easily be 20 million plus IMO. Which is unlikely in the extreme.
  13. It’s the hope that kills you. So many false dawns. In some ways, I wish we were put out of our misery and start afresh. Then I slap myself, and realise I don’t fancy ramsbottom away.
  14. Good shout. We never thought we were getting a holding player.
  15. What want to know is- Wheres’s Eyrsey to tell us there’s no point in winning tonight? ?
  16. Usually Bob, yes. But this is Eyrsey your talking to, the king of unpopular counter argument. ?
  17. It’s a results driven business. If results are poor, then any manager at any club comes under pressure. However results are steady, so I see no reason to look at Bunn’s position at the minute. If by Christmas the football is still poor, and crucially if results really dip. Then he will be under pressure and rightly so. I take your point about our appointments though, if we got right. The revolving door would stop.
  18. Yeah, fair point. Legend is probably streching it a bit. I also agree his appointment was odd. But he’s here, and while the football is poor results have been steady. Lots of rookie managers have made worse starts than Bunn. Plus he has an affinity with the club. I think he’s worth sticking with till Christmas at least to see if he can get us going. If he can’t- he goes. Like any other manager. I find it amusing that deyers42 thought sacking wellens was harsh after only six months and after he played his part in our relegation. His favourite quote at the time was ‘the sample size of games isn’t enough to judge’ An yet he wants Bunn sacked before we’ve played a game. ? Bizarre.
