  1. What needs doing now is the manager situation sorting this week as a matter of urgency. Whoever ends up with the job can then execute their “plan” and bring their style/methods/players in. We are a little in limbo at the moment
  2. Reserve judgement on that, although I do think he’s probably had more (not many I know) opportunities to score than his current figure suggests. He’s not pacey and not a particularly big lad although other players ie Nuttall should be doing far more in the air than they are. But you can see his vision and the way he moves the ball about is generally a cut above the rest which frustrates him but I still think he could be scoring more.
  3. Just the last bit re them preferring the previous ownership tells all I need to know
  4. The only time you’re going to know is by going for one or the other, no right or wrong answer. Personally ST and NR makes sense as things stand currently. Know the squad, know what’s needed
  5. Well that’ll teach me to start reading a whole thread before I chime up,I thought we were talking about Hobson
  6. I disagree, the 3 nil loss against Bromley, the Dorking draw before , numerous games before that, then 3 wins and 3 draws , unbeaten in six, I just can’t see that happening under DU. I do feel we are slipping somewhat back to “type” though as each game passes which worries me and overall I don’t think we are anywhere near good enough for where we want to be.
  7. Almost feels like we’ve wasted a year. This manager/recruitment lark isn’t an exact science but I do suspect we’ve dropped a clanger with some of these players. ST must have told them from the off to keep playing, don’t go to sleep at the 70th minute yet they’ve done it now for the last 4 bloody games. This makes me think they actually can’t do what’s being asked of them. ST has dropped a few comments in now about new players and we need them .
  8. I agree, I think it’s going to involve another overhaul, not of the same proportions of pre season but we need better players, Thompson keeps alluding to it and he’s right. Seems ridiculous but I don’t think some of these are up to the task in hand.
  9. The more I think about it the more angry I get about the original Unsworth appt, it was done in good faith I’m sure but it was clearly jobs for the boys. Now we are left with another problem in his wake, I’m not sure how much responsibility you can pin on Thompson re the recruitment but this lot aren’t taking us anywhere other than where we are. I really think a new manager will be needed asap who will need to bring his own players in. Somehow try and ship out some of the ones we have in the process and make way for some who can do a job for us. It’s going to take another season at least but I don’t know what else can be done.
  10. Just. Not . Good. Enough. Two home draws is now 4 points dropped. Meanwhile chesterfield win yet again. This squad is powderpuff.
  11. Yep, new personnel needed. Somehow. It’s finally dawning on me that they aren’t good enough
  12. There’s a good number of opposition players turned up here and looked very good. I don’t know if it’s a combination of raising their game against us or if they are genuinely decent players or a case of this awful habit of us standing off them and going to sleep after 70 minutes. First half last night the opposition didn’t get a look in. Second half . We stand off them and stop pressing, and look what happens.
  13. Some positive news for you hopefully
  14. That performance last night and the memory of about 2 urinals for 1500 away fans has already made up my mind anyway .
  15. Yep, fondop would have rattled a couple of the teams we’ve struggled against recently. Nuttall sub was pointless. Fondop might have even been able to bring Norwood into play a bit more tonight. The ball sticks to him more than it does Nuttall.
  16. I think it was the manner of the second half performance. I thought the switching off and standing off players had been addressed by ST. It clearly hasn’t. Lundstram looked tired but his replacement can’t be Shelton if we want to progress. It does appear that with each performance we are deteriorating. Also, can the coaches please ask the players to briefly look up before they make that “killer” pass ffs, time and time again it happens. They let go of it, either their teammate isn’t anticipating it or it’s over hit.
  17. He seems to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time, still can’t figure out whether that’s him or the players around him .
