R.O.A.M
Anyone know who applied for the Hudds Job in December (besides Joe) that might given an indication of who might apply this time? Boothroyd was interviewed

lookers87
John Hughes may not be a bad shout, actually has a decent record with Falkirk. He's been heavily linked with the Lashers job this season and is a very good friend of Owen Coyle and is very keen to move south. I know Coyle got a lot of help from Joe with a couple of signings he made pre-season so if Joe's opinion is being asked for it may be a name that crops up. Don't really mind anyone from the list, it really is about what they do with us not what they've done elsewhere. And as the old saying goes I'd prefer a lucky manager than a good one! opinions4u
Anyone know who applied for the Hudds Job in December (besides Joe) that might given an indication of who might apply this time? John Sheridan! (said so on BBC606 so must be true) Gannon doesn't seem like a bad shout. I'm yet to hear a decent reason to not have him other than people saying 'no', throw us a frickin bone here if you're in the know I have asked the reason "why not Jim Gannon" on these boards on at least 3 occasions over the last 2 months. I don't recall being given a reply with any quantifiable objection. I did once get a "no no no" though. Delfer
At this level with little money I think contacts is the key - I thought that's why Joe would succeed, so I can see TTA going for a bit of a name, i.e. more Ince than Gannon

deyres42
Jim magillton anyone Yeah he'd my first choice - pretty unlucky to get the sack at Ipswich IMO. Think Gary Speed will make a very good manager one day but think TTA may want someone with experience. Sammy McIlroy could fit the bill - good local and non-league knowledge, may be able to pick up some gems lurking in the Blue Sqaure Premier etc

Frankly Mr Shankly
and ince has done what exactly??? and must have a massive contacts list.... Stopped Macclesfield from certain relegation and turned them into a respectable mid-table outfit on the lowest budget in Division 4. Took over at Bastard Franchise Scum with a big budget for the divison and walked the league, winning nearly ALL of their away games in the process. Got a bit bigheaded and tried Blackburn Rovers for 6 months before getting the hoof. I don't think I'd feel 100% comfortable about having Ince here, but I can't ignore his past successes in the lower leagues. I would think he'll be in the frame though.
