LaticsPete
1. Probably one of the few matches this season where our second half has been stronger than the first. Came out looking purposeful and the tactics and attitude put us in control. Could have had more goals (for those who were in the Chaddy, was it handball when Taylor's header was blocked on the line?) 2. What was apparent from watching on tv (Skyplus is a wonderful thing) was the strong team spirit. Lots of encouragement between players. 3. Some of the team grew in confidence and impact as the match went on. Mellor and Ade as obvious people, but Simpson also contributed more in second half. 4. Best I've seen Taylor play this season. Worked hard, made the right decisions, and only one rolling about in agony episode. 5. Decent reffing . Lee's booking a tad harsh but he let the game flow and wasn't showboating for the cameras. 6.The timing of Cisak for the save in the last few minutes was superb. 7. Some excellent tackles from Zander. 8. Karl Robinson after the match gave Latics not a mention. the defeat was all down to MK playing poorly. Karl Robinson was NOT a happy bunny at all after the match. I was lucky enough to hear a little snippet of his dressing room rant last night - just as The Childcatcher went in to see them. I didn't think it was possible to get so many shouted expletives into two sentences. Edit - Typo Edited October 11, 2011 by danoafc
oafc_lover
Karl Robinson was an arse golf post match. Anyone would think him and franchise were god's gift to football. Like you said...it was all about how badly they played. Not a mention of how well we contained probably the best attack in the league. Also jim wesolovski's diving header along the floor made my night.

rosa
Arse golf That sounds like a VERY specialist video. 1. Could have had more goals (for those who were in the Chaddy, was it handball when Taylor's header was blocked on the line?) I thought it was at the time (shouted and ranted that much that i went a bit dizzy), thought it should have been a pen and a red card. No-one else has mentioned it though so maybe it was just a case of him slipping and not being able to get his hands out of the way.

Fan up the ladder
I could be wrong about this, but was the last time we won at home on Sky the victory over Port Vale, 2-1, where Eyres and I think Killen scored with an overhead kick, and England also qualified for a major tournament that weekend too. A little bit of history repeating?

ShakerT
If Mk fans believe half the guff that came out of Karl Robinson's mouth after the game they want shooting, what a load of old flannel, He must be up for a Bafta for that self indulgent, egotistica slushy tripe. Ince was just as bad, if not worse. Was sitting in the RRE near the tunnel when we ebat them under Penney and heard quite clearly in cockney "You gayve as fack all"

It was right in front of me in the Chaddy. It was a save their keeper would have been proud of. I couldn't believe that nobody else seemed to see it. There was also what looked like a handball later on (can't remember who shot - from the middle of the box) when the defender had one hand on the turf as he went down. Ref gave a corner so he clearly acknowledged it hit the defender. Would be interested to see it again though. Karl Robinson was an arse golf post match. I thought I'd seen the best/most ridiculous defensive header of all time during the Ritchie era when Mark Hotte headed the ball away from goal whilst about a foot off the ground, but Jim's wasn't even a diving header, it was a sliding header! Sheer class! Edit - typo Edited October 11, 2011 by danoafc
bossrocks
For those that haven't seen them, Robinson's comments here (after Dickov's): http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,16478_7234649,00.html Worst day of his career apparently! Complete over-reaction from a spoiled baby who can't handle the fact that he was out-thought by Dickov (who got our tactics spot on). opinions4u
Also jim wesolovski's diving header along the floor made my night. We should have a "Champagne moment" thread after every game. There were a few challengers from last night. Goalie's slip. Weso's header. Kuqi's nutmeg in his own box. Ballboy losing the ball. Football at it's best. Roger Ritchie
Robinson's sob stories at the end were embarrassing. When he started saying this is the worst he has ever felt? What? You got outplayed by a team that wanted it a bit more and were up for playing in the rain. Please don't make any excuses other than that. Sky pissed me off when they kept going on about how much McDons had to cut back their spending etc. Luke Chadwick earns £4k + a week. I bet our top earner is on £1k at the most. MK had chadwick, balanta, morrison, beevers and bowditch last night, all could be championship players. they had an off day, but the reason we won was because we were fired up and they werent. Robinson has been a lot of arse over the last few seasons; especially in his guise as assistant to Paul Ince. But, last game of the season just gone, and again last night - pitch side, he's been pretty spot on. I was starting to change my opinion on him; as he was joining in the banter with us fans, was being very fair with his agreements/disagreements with the refereeing decisions and generally his demeanour was pretty good. And then I saw the post-match interview…….. Not once did he admit his side were beaten because they were outplayed in parts of the game, it was all about how poor the mighty MK had been. The reason they lost was all about them; and nothing to do with us actually being spot on with our play both with & without the ball. He undid it all for me; Coming across as an arrogant sore loser post-game…….
Haribo_man
I've no problem with this to be honest, he is MK's manager and will focus on them. By saying we played well in a way justifies their performance . If he feels they should have done better then that is all that matters really. Just because we felt latics played well doesn't mean that he does.
