opinions4u Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 A win where we never win. Four wins in five. Well done to the 142 who made it there. Quote
the_mighty_bosh Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 A win where we never win. Four wins in five. Well done to the 142 who made it there. I echo those sentiments. Backing up the Donny cup performance like that is brilliant by the lads. Quote
shefflatic Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 very well done - now go AGAIN lads next week - GOT to keep the performances going and imperative that Furman KEEPS playing as an Attacking Midfielder....do it and the performances and wins are following. I don't want to see our 2 midfielders in a line when we are attacking EVER again with the forward options we have! Only problem comes when Derbyshire goes back for a month til mid Jan (likely return time?) - Leon Clarke possible? Quote
JoeP Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Progression in the league and in the cup - it's been a good week. Pats on the back for players and management alike.. Quote
bossrocks Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Excellent result. I'd probably have taken a draw today, just because we never seem to get anything down there. Onwards and upwards. Quote
steveoafc Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Plenty of attempts and most on target too. Let's hope we're embarking on a glorious run now. Confidence must be high......Well done boys! Quote
NewBlue Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Dickov IS learning at last. Players ARE performing at last. Goals ARE being scored as a consequence. Better chance our trio will want to stay with every win. Brilliant back-to-back results. Fantastic. Bring on Swindon and Paolo Di Canio! Certainly winnable. Quote
Oh Heck C-Beck Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Don't get your hopes up guys, four wins in five has tempted me to make an extra effort to get down to BP for the next few games and I have only seen us win 2 competitive games in a year ;) Seriously though, really pleased with the recent form long may it continue! 24hoursfromtulsehill Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Just got back after the game to Royton. Amazing win. Proper football. Dickov out though cos it shudda been 6. Quote
stargazer Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 We all knew a performance similar to the one against Doncaster would be plenty good enough ......but our lack of consistency was the worry. Great win , let's hope Derbyshire is enjoying scoring goals and if his only option is Forest reserves come January prolongs his stay. Quote

Great win , let's hope Derbyshire is enjoying scoring goals and if his only option is Forest reserves come January prolongs his stay. Both of Forest's strikers; Blackstock and Sharp scored for them today v Burnley so it doesn't look like they're immediately in need of goalscorers. Ishmail Miller, also out on loan from them at Middlesbrough, scored today and Marcus Tudgay has scored a few for Barnsley. Hopefully they overlook Derbyshire. Quote
Laticacid Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Great result, great run of form, MD starts scoring just before his loan finishes !! Never get carried away with latics but delighted tonight , oh when the bbbblllluuuueeeeessss!!!! Quote
Laticacid Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Also dug out my dads old bovis shirt from 1990 cup final for the forest game, memories, what a day , enjoy the good times eh ! Quote

Diego_Sideburns Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Well done to the 142 who made it there. Quote
Ernie For England Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Just got back after the game to Royton Now that's impressive Quote
sbs1trg Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Really solid performance today, moved the ball very well at times. There's no doubting that Colchester were poor, but - as the saying goes - you can only beat the side in front of you. Wesolowski MOM for me with an industrious back-to-his-best display. Only slight grumble is that we should have been out of sight with 15 to go - but that's what next week is for. Balti pies at Col also worth a shout - can only be described as "artisan" - with cumin seeds baked into the pastry. Delicious. Quote
flytrap Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 great to get a win today and see we're doing well but I fear for us losing Baxter and Derbyshire for the rest of the season. Our attacking options are pretty weak with only Simpson and Smith in reserve. Quote
Lee Sinnott Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 And, best of all, M'voto opened and earned me and my mate five ton. Quote
lancy lad Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 And, best of all, M'voto opened and earned me and my mate five ton. Dickov in??? Quote
leeslover Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 great to get a win today and see we're doing well but I fear for us losing Baxter and Derbyshire for the rest of the season. Our attacking options are pretty weak with only Simpson and Smith in reserve. Most of our attacking was down the right with Croft and Brown today. The other attackers also played well though, on another day Monty would have had a couple from two distance shots he let fly and we had a couple of easier ones that could have gone in. Quote
opinions4u Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 How on earth could anybody give that second goal to Derbyshire? Baxter's claim is stronger. Quote
penrhyn Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 How on earth could anybody give that second goal to Derbyshire? True but could you really begrudge Derbyshires claims given the decisions against him the last few months Quote
the_mighty_bosh Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 How on earth could anybody give that second goal to Derbyshire? Baxter's claim is stronger. I know, three other players touched it after Derbyshire's shot. It was definitely an own goal and a comical one at that! Quote
