danoafc
Not ideal this. Remember the last great cup run we had which caused a fixture pile up? :-( Edited March 12, 2013 by danoafc
lancy lad
Just had a text from someone at the club. So another game to squeeze in - I get the impression that we didn't really want it on. Are we waiting to get a new manager in place maybe?
Fyldelatic
Now on fishul. Inspection brought forward to 10 am because of concern over frozen pitch.
oafcprozac
Frozen solid apparently, usual main area of concern is the shaded area in front of the Main Stand which gets Zero sun. So now we have:- Sat 16/3 v Bournemouth (A) Sat 23/3 v Shrewsbury (H) Fri 30/3 v Swindon (A) Mon 1/4 v Col U (H) Sat 6/4 v Carlisle (H) Tues 9/4 v PNE (A) Sat 13/4 v Bury (A) Tues 16/4 v Yeovil (H) Sat 20/4 v Crawley (H) Sat 27/4 v Orient (A) So that leaves us with Tues 19/3 Tues 26/3 Tues 23/4 or we're playing Tues/Thurs like in '90 & '90 which killed our season. We're running out of time to get the points on the board, tonight being called off could be a massive psychological blow if Col U and Scunny win. It's ok having 3 games in hand but the points on the board are what matters most.

SavageTheBeast
Embarrassing by oldham to call it off 10 hours before kick off. Don't they know its above 2 degrees all day. It makes it worse that Barrow are confident that there game will be on against stockport

oafcprozac
People fail to take into account the BP Eco-System, there's no conspiracy here. Gigg Lane isn't surrounded by exposed open ground, Perhaps Gigg Lane doesn't have at least a 1/3 of its pitch in shade 24/7. I've snow and ice in my yard that hasn't moved since Sunday night and add in the wind chill and there wasn't a hope in hell of getting it on. Ritchierich
Interesting thought really, do you leave it until the last week of the season on the basis that you will know exactly what you need to stay up and the atmosphere would be great etc or just get it played next week and try and get the points on the board? AndyGortonsMatches
what are using to cover the pitch..... bedsheets ? Can we not tap up some extra cash for the return of undersoil heating to go with the new stand...
oafcprozac
Stick it into the last Tuesday and that will give us Yeovil Crawley Hartlepool 3 of the last 4 at home. However, we had 3 of the last 4 at home in '94 and failed to win any of them…. The danger we could have is that Hartlepool will already be doomed or need the points just as much as we do. I know they do at the moment, but there's a cushion. If we need to win to give us a chance on the final day and Hartlepool need the same then it is squeaky bum time. However, if Hartlepool are already down they will play with freedom or might they just throw the towel in? Either way play it next week, ideal preparation for the huge trip to Shrewsbury.* *And Skybet will still pay out as advised…..
jbrown23
points on the board. if we're cut a drift by the last game (which I don't believe we will be) it'll look like an almighty balls up having not played the game sooner.

losesome
Latics need to look at this for the future , Cheltenham had -11 last night yet racing is still on today !!!!!!!!

Can we not tap up some extra cash for the return of undersoil heating to go with the new stand... Frost covers only provide so much protection.....and undersole eating surly has to be bottom of the list for a club with 3 stands, no manager, only 5 players contracted next season and fighting relegation. EDIT: Only for them to realise that 1989 Vauxhall Novas come with a choke, which they couldn't work out how to use. They opted to change the website instead. Diego_Sideburns
Latics need to look at this for the future , Cheltenham had -11 last night yet racing is still on today !!!!!!!! The difference is that Cheltenham's governing body allows any of its four-legged participants, which break a leg, to be shot and possibly made into burgers. The football authorities have to be more responsible than that.
Lee Sinnott
So we'll be one point behind with three games in hand? We'll piss it.
pk200
The game has been rescheduled for last month http://www.oldhamath...ate-709012.aspx afraid this is symptomatic of how the club is being run at the moment.
