Markspark92 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Can any one name a decent goal scoring striker we've had on loan here before ? I can't seem to recall one in recent memory I just don't think they really work maybe BP is the strikers graveyard loan or permanent because since Porter we've not had a 25+ goals a season striker
archiecat Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Don't hold your breath, 20+ goal a season strikers are way out of our league !
Markspark92 Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Barnards loan spell here produced 3 goals in 14 games, Derbyshire 4 in 18 there poor returns for who they are in this league, Leon Clarke was probably our last decent loan signing in terms of goals to games ratio 5 in 3
Markspark92 Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Steve Kabba Dean Windass Darren Byfield These all failed as well
Latics_Fanatic Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 These all failed as well Yeah i'm joking - however, they were all probably 20+ goal strikers in their best seasons, i'd guess.
opinions4u Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 These all failed as well I'll hazard a guess the poster knew that.

The difficulty both had was support and supply. FWIW Derbyshire scored 6 in 20 for us and had a spell out of form, presumably because he had other things on his mind, as his wife had just given birth to a poorly baby. A full season of both of them and they score 20+ goals easily.
Twisbrogan Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Should we acquire the services of a striker on loan during this window, one of the main criteria I'd like to see met is that I've never heard of him.

PlayItLivo Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Some of the others we've had that either did :censored:, or okay, Leon Constantine Paul Heffernan Jordan Robertson Lewis Grabban Lewis Guy Jason Price Oumare Tounkara (to be fair he wasn't that bad, he just was quite raw) Edited January 7, 2014 by PlayItLivo
b0ndl1ne Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Jordan Robertson would have been decent if he didn't get injured.
leeslover Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Jordan Robertson would have been decent if he didn't get injured.I was trying to think of him for the Scottish thread. I thought he looked very good but in awful shape when he played but he got a right slagging off on here. Cracking goal even if it was off the shin
deyres42 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Slightly off topic but anyone with a BetVictor account can get 100/1 on Nardiello to be top L2 scorer, plenty of worse 100s shots knocking about.
Frankly Mr Shankly Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Jordan Robertson would have been decent if he didn't get injured. ... or jailed for over 2 years for causing death by dangerous driving.
youngen Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Jordan Robertson would have been decent if he didn't get injured. Or killed someone
Markspark92 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 I thought Slew looked good on his debut when he bagged against Sheff Wed in the cup then he got injured ! There's ways something
