Guest Scratch2000uk
makes me chuckle how the chron still band him about as the fans representitive, they must be all pissin in the same pot, do they really think he fullfills his duties as a representitive, thats one big set of blinkers they are wearing. Nah, they Ask Corney for an interview and he says, See my spokesperson Barry, HHHHHhhhhhererm, i mean the fans rep. I'm too busy with my meccano set building the new stand, Of course, not one to shy away from any media attention, Barry comes out with a Corney-esque statement. roytoner
when is he up for re-election? season ticket holders should be automatically members of the trust, with compulsory voting Agreed, but surely with 2 guaranteed seats per season ticket at each meeting. rudemedic
In the event that he might read this, even if he doesn't reply. Has he thought about getting some written guarantees from Messers Corney, Blitz and Gazal, that the statements about not calling in the debt until the club reach the Premier League etc. are adhered to? Doubly so in the event that Corney resigns. Plus any guarantees about what happens to the land?

real
Yup its exactly what the trust should be doing... Cast iron legal agreements on the words being spoken. Words are cheap to be frank. Words are cheap, but a Director's statement has to be honest and correct. A minority shareholder (e.g one that owns 3% of a company) can take legal action against a director that issues misleading statements. But a clause that said "you must pay £6m to Mr Blitz if you get to the prem" would seriously restrict the range of potential bidders and any investment strategy. oafc0000
Reality is though taking action against said director wouldnt help much when its an expired one (Blitz) holding all the cards....

Paying off £6 million if we get to the Prem might seem a good deal knowing the vast amounts paid to clubs achieving that status.

Offer them £3 million and get the contracts drawn up, it wouldn't be frightening at all as it would pay for itself many times over or be totally useless
real
Paying off £6 million if we get to the Prem might seem a good deal knowing the vast amounts paid to clubs achieving that status. So, you buy the club for nowt, invest a bit and get to the championship. If you invest further, you know that if it pays off and you go up, you have to hand over £6m, which will immediately limit your potential to compete at the new level. Essentially the club is not worth £6m, not worth £600k even and having a charge on it would be insane. The £6m invested has gone - they gambled. If they'd won, they'd have reaped the rewards; they lost, so they have to take the hit.

BP1960
has a football club ever had such a supporters trust that is so detached from its supporters? Not like this one, which Barry can learn from; http://star-reading.org/
BP1960
when is he up for re-election? season ticket holders should be automatically members of the trust, with compulsory voting Perhaps those donating to playershare in any form should also become automatic members, after all they have paid in to the system. maddog
Perhaps those donating to playershare in any form should also become automatic members, after all they have paid in to the system. It was Barry off of The Trust who sniped inappropriately at Underdog because she didn't mention that Playershare is a Trust initiative. So yes, why not. I'd imagine the 70-80 paying into Playershare is higher than current Trust members.
