doesnt matter who you put up front if you play the way we do it would be difficult for danny inges to score in our team the reality is nobody would be keen coming in at this stage and to their credit both look like they want to be here and playing football that to me is an improvement on a couple we have at the moment, hopefully the lad from norwich will bring a bit of quality as they rate the lad down there and no doubt joel will be out to prove a point lets give them a chance eh.

joel did okay .while not claiming him to be a worldbeater I was generally pleased with his contribution . for me it was a 4-1-4-1 formation with joel playing in front of back four . if that sounds like negative tactics perhaps those people who are heaping pressure on our young manager should consider how helpful it is to keep criticising . the fact is we have only lost one of the last 4 or 5 away games . I wish we had won and it almost worked . special mention to JCH who worked his socks off .might have been subbed earlier as it was obvious he was running on empty but I could see LJ wanted to keep him on for his size and to defend set plays . it almost worked .

He hardly touched the ball in the first half, looked lost (perhaps understandably) Philiskirk in a deep lying central midfield role and Worrall were well off the pace too,

If LJ continues with these tactics against Crawley it's going to be dire to watch.

Forgot he was playing. Why does Philliskirk get on the teams he's garbage. It's quite clear that Harkins needs to be playing in the middle.

agree with this.. to a certain extent, philliskirk needs time on the bench he's been woeful recently! and harkins definitely needs to be played central, wether that be cm or cf, he needs to have the ball at his feet more often so he can use the ball... unlike others

Preston supporting pal on Byrom:

"Good Player. When Westley got the Preston job he made no secret that the guy he really wanted to bring with him from his old club apart from Scot Laird was Joel Byrom.

Part of the Stevenage team that took the scalps of Newcastle and Reading in the FA cup also help them with back to back promotions.. Strengths: two good feet, good vision, can go past people, scores goals, quality free kick taker. Weakness; can dissapear out of games when not on the ball & doesn't like a tackle. Hence why Grayson probably let him go you could say hes a luxury player but a lot of Preston fans, me included, thought he was a class act and he's done what no other preston player has done this season apart from Gallagher is score goals from a midfield postion. I think he will suit you but you will have to play through him to see the best of him.

Westley said he built a team round Joel cause he knew he could bring something different to the table. I watched him as a youngster at Clitheroe and he stood out a mile. Nice guy as well. Really down to earth.

Give him a run of games and you will have a player and a potential match winner on your hands.

Rather backs up the thought that Wes and Byrom were played the wrong way round at Crewe.
